Can the pied gene affect red eye glow? I have a pup that is out of a Lilac Pied stud and a blue mom. He has chocolate pads and most of his nose is chocolate. He has eyeliner and pied spotting on skin I think only one pied gene. They say his eyes do not glow red, is it possible the pied gene covers up the red eye glow? I believe mom carried co gene so it is possible he is lilac. What do you think/know?
A DNA calculator I'm using states that coco/dd is Lilac....but you stated bb/dd is Lilac? ....when I put bb/dd in my DNA calculator is say it's a Isabella not Lilac. So which one is the Lilac DNA combination?
I understand the red eye glow is there on lilacs and lilac/chocolate carriers. How about visually? Do most lilacs have a light silver coat? The ones that don’t have that coat are they just lilac or chocolate carriers?
I have a platinum ..mother is chocolate fawn , father is lilac and tan carrying testable for sure not sure what else ..how do I tell of the pup is lilac and tan platinum or choc and tan ?
Hello James Just wondering when puppies get red eye glow ? I have a litter of 4 and mom and dad are supposed to be lilac . I have mom and the stud dog is visible lilac but didn’t get tested for coco . My dog has been tested twice and has red eye glow . Shouldn’t all my pups have red eye glow . I have two Merle’s lilac and tan and two lilac and tan . I’m confused if they really are lilac and tans because one Merle has double red eye glow , one Merle has one eye red glow and both lilac and tans have no red eye glow . So just wondering what’s going on .
I got a 2 month old platinum and full pink frenchie pup with blue eyes. She got a red eye glow. When she turn 3 months, her blue eyes gone and her red eye glow gone. Is it normal for a platinum to lose their red eye glow? or she is not a platinum?
Hello first I’d like to thank you for all the information that you give . I have a puppy that is Merle pattern and atat dd Coco MN EMEM and my animal genetics test says he’s lilac? But he only carries one copy of coco , he has the red eyes glow but I understand that all Merles have it so my question is did they make a mistake with the Dna because the breeder that I purchased him from told me he was Lilac before I bought him. I also have a female that is ayay kBn EMEM NS what are my possibilities .
@@Tbredracing Thank you for the response I would say continue to watch these videos from James he covers a lot of ground and there is quite a few different possibilities for your puppies. I went to UC Davis for my genetics test and the results are pretty consistent from what I have seen sometimes breeders make the mistake of thinking because the puppy is from a lilac parent that all the puppies will be lilacs which is not true.. so you should get another dna test and compare the two
My do the same as above ayay Dd Coco L1L4 is the same very strong glow when wearing my glass I even see in the day, how is this possible, personally I believe there are other chocolates out the that they do not test for
I also have a 5 month old pup. dd Bb Coco non merle and has a strong red eye glow. I am re-testing dna to be sure there was not a mistake on first test.
My dog had 7 puppies only 1 female ,… she is all white no spots and in day light or in a dark room her eyes shine red bright and she has no color in her eyes besides red …… I have questions what is she … she reminds me of white lab rats with their red glowing eyes
My pocket bully, looks like a blue fawn in the sunlight, but when he gets a bath his fur color changes completely and he looks chocolate. What would the eye glow determine if it’s red vs blue glow
@@LoveMyPups I did do the eye test, it was red for sure, then I did the eyes of his brother from the same litter and they were blue. Weird bcz mom is a brindle and dad is a matte black tri. He was the only one in the litter with this color. When he was first born he was a lot lighter and darkened over time.
😑 just my luck I guess it's time to shell the money for the DNA test My EB is a Merle but I don't know if she's lilac, Coco or what the vet stated she was blue can't really go off the littermates neither cuz they're all rainbows too 😅 DNA testing uc-davis or Embark or animal genetics
I like animal genetics they do not test for intensity they do charge more for Fluffy and Merle testing. I haven’t used embark the DNA I don’t like their reports but that’s only because I’m not used them

If platinum the red eye glow will stay
Will the red eye glow for a cryptic merle?
Thanks for that 👍
What if my dogs eye glow red but just don’t beam red it’s like a constant red though?
Shapeshifter
Are you speaking of Buble & Jon snow?
My male (ay a dd coco animal genetics) his eyes glow blue but sometimes has red glow for a second. Is he a lilac or should I get a retest?
Having the same happen rn with two blue pied littermates, female and male, it’s mainly blue but certain angles it’ll turn red
Yeah me too i got a blue with tan points and he got white on chest. I feel like he lilac.
UPDATE: 100% not a lilac. He is a blue fawn that carries cocoa. Animal genetics was wrong. I breed him to a lilac and litter was lilac and blue.
She lilacs are testable chocolate I'm confused
My dogs eyes are red yellow and blue glow what does that mean (French bulldog)
Hi my girl is a isabella Merle ,dd bb with 1 copy with co, she just have one red eye glow. Is that possible? Thank you.
Probably the merle in her
I have a blue frenchie and one of her eyes glow red, I got her tested Uc Davis and she is not a chocolate dog but she carries 1 copy of coco.

Do some chocolates come out blue? I have a dog the was born blue but turning brown, maybe it’s a lilac 🤔
If Bb dd ee, therefore no red eye glow. Will it still be called a platinum dog?
That's a blue testable covered in cream it depends if it has an at or tan points in his dna
So my " chocolate tan " doesn't have red eye glow... mum was a masked fawn and dad was an isabella & tan please help!
Ur dog is bb Dd CoCo
My dog is Dd /Coco /BB I see the red eye glow non merle
The dna is not a chocolate dog The red eye glow u are seeing us not Consistent or the DNA report is wrong

If it’s a demonic red in low light video then two copies of chocolate

DNA testing uc-davis or Embark or animal genetics
Embark has relatives and checks intensity and also fluff gene
I like animal genetics they do not test for intensity they do charge more for Fluffy and Merle testing. I haven’t used embark the DNA I don’t like their reports but that’s only because I’m not used them
