Update on my dog she had 9 perfect Beautiful puppy's, I AI her on day 15 her progesterone was 15.2 on that day. Thanks James if I didn't listen to you about the Progesterone testing I would have missed it again Love your Videos thanks so much your the best, my Vet does the progesterone testing and I get the numbers in about 15 Min and they came in on a Sunday when she went into labor this was her first litter to

And for food I start with Dog chow as a base starting point and then I put in real meat things like fish oil and other things and they love it they would eat way more if I'd feed it to them. I feed a cup in the morning and a cup at night.
My dog didn't get to progesterone level of 15 until day 15 after first drop of blood, I tested on day 6 after I saw the first drop and the reading was .2 then on day 11 it was .9 then on day 15 it was 15.2 then I AI her I pray she took , we love your Videos wonderful job I already saved your web site we are getting your progesterone tester soon and other things thanks for all your videos

All dogs hormone levels are always different. We had three females that one would spike/surge LH super fast on day 6-7 of bleeding. And another female that wouldn’t surge or be ready til day 18-21 days. And we typically would do AI surgically.

Hi James. I am a big fan of your educational vids. My female American bully is pregnant for the second time after 2 years gap from the first litter! She didn’t have a peaceful litter in her last as three of her last pups out of 9 got stuck and she developed eclampsia after 2 months from delivery. She is 30 days pregnant now. Can you kindly advice me how to administer calcium to her? I gave her calcium during first 10 days and cut it off upto now! Please advise me. It will be a great help from you.
Just bred my girl Snookie with Ganache...literally progesterone 2 x on one day because she ovulated on day 10...thank God I caught it, last time she ovulated on day 13...

I didn’t do it this past April and my bitch did not take… I went by the other times she was bred but it did not work this time… I think she may have ovulated later than she usually does… I would love to hear your take on older bitches, because as they age it is not unusual for them to ovulate later in their cycle. I had one who actually was bred on her 17th day of heat and ended up with 6 beautiful puppies. We had tried to breed her over several years and nothing, we used AI, transcervical AI’s and nothing until a young male got a hold of her on her 17th day and voilà pregnant! Miracle litter. Just recently I had one of my young bitches get a swollen vulva but no blood, none! 9 - 10 days later she is acting receptive to breeding and my males are going crazy… This is a new experience to me after 30 years raising beautiful dogs. I’m gonna have to do progesterone. Have you ever experienced a bitch in heat with no blood? That is a first for me… challenging…
Testing is always the key to decent litters I like to breed twice two days apart to Older and younger dogs are harder to breed. Late cycles Silent heat. and no blood But pg test will start rising
Whats the chances of getting the a.i done right when we just wait for the dog to be willing to accept it? Just need to know because that's hiw I do it and missed last time hoping this time she took
My girl ended up with pyometra 🥺 we had to do emergency surgery. I'm also starting to think if there is a huge jump in PG levels there is a higher risk for pyo. Definitely have her double check with ultrasound.
Can you do a follow up video, please? So many of us have your machine and I believe the numbers are different from the idexx machine. If it’s 5 ng/ml on idexx, isn’t a 7 on finecare? That’s where I don’t want to get tripped up. Also, if her number was at a 7 and then dropped in half and she has clear discharge, is she having a split heat? Since she’s had a litter before, could something be up where she’s not producing enough progesterone? Thanks James! We’re hopefully a month out from using Buble.
I’m wondering the same thing. I had this same problem with a first time breeding of my 18 month old Frenchy. My regular vet passed away unexpectedly of COVID, & my backup vet isn’t very experienced in breeding Frenchies. She had me come back 2 days after the progesterone drop, but said it then read 28 and would likely be unsuccessful. We went ahead and immediately did a surgical AI but didn’t result in pregnancy.
I have the Wondfo progesterone machine I have been using for a couple years. I have two female giant schnauzers that were due to be in heat. Neither are bleeding or swollen. I checked their progesterone levels on 7/29 one was 3.83ng/ml, 8/2 she was 3.64, 8/5 she was 3.72, 8/8 she was 4.22, 8/11 she was 4.97, 8/14 she is 4.28. It is the same with my other female. They are both just over 2.5 years old. It has been at least 17 days. What is going on? Did we miss it? I have never seen this before

Hey I tested my female on day 7 after first sight of blood...she came back at .4 and still bleeding. Vet says to test her again on Friday (today is monday) do you agree to test her on friday?

That doesn’t make any sense, if she was at a 7.49 on day 6 it means she ovulated. Ovulation occurs at a level of 5, dogs don’t ovulate then go back on progesterone levels, when a dog ovulates the numbers just keep going up. The problem is that progesterone machine that you use and sell which is EXTREMELY unreliable. Not accurate at all.

What if the 1st AI was done at 12 level in day 8. Then second AI 2 days after. Ultra sound shoes a singleton pup. Was it too soon?

I believe the likelihood increases the size of the litter. Not all pups are conceived on the first shot, so to speak.
I did surgical while she was at 20.8 on idexx. Am I too early?
