Unless you test your dog, I would assume your dog is just a brindle...brindle is brown which you could be mistaking for chocolate. ..Only way to be sure is DNA test

Are breeders in the USA looking at developing pups with better health especially their breathing issues like Hawbucks in the Netherlands. There’s definitely much more awareness here in the UK and lots of people I know are specifically asking about their breathing issues

Hi! this has really been helpful. Question though, what if b/b and N/co? would this be considered as a new isabela? my dog has a slightly lighter shade than the other Isabela i compared with. Would you suggest re-running a DNA and hopefully the N on the N/co may be detected?

Download it and go to the color calculator. Plug your dogs colors in and it will give you all the possibilities and percentages of those possibilities. It’s really nicely put together and very handy.
I have a Shih Tzu-6 months. His Embark test came back Eme, KBky, ayay -not expressed, DD, Bb, Ssp, No merle or Harlequin. His eyes are slate gray and sometimes look deep blue to almost purple and he definitely has the red eye glow. His pedigree has a rich history of Blue's and livers. Could Embark have it wrong? His eyes aren't the classical brown that you see in a Shih Tzu that isn't liver or blue. His coat color was black at birth but is changing to a silver gray. Thanks...nobody seems to be able to tell me what's going on with my pup.
Isabella is a Lilac dog with testabke chocolate so both parents have to at the very least carry blue and both parents at the very least have to carry testable chocolate

Would it be the same with a female with at risk with one varriant it’s a linkage test ivdd and male has 2 varriants for the same thing
This explains why I never saw other chocolate brindle dogs the colors outside of my dog. I got really lucky.

That’s a dog that is test for Choc. The carries a copy of Coco and I bet you the results are correct
