Thank you for the video, but unless I missed something, this appears to be more of a solution for an in-person meeting or event that is live streamed. Did I miss the part where someone attending by Zoom can be heard by everyone in the in-person room

Thank you for the information, Have you used the first solution with Microsoft Teams, if so how well did it work. Thank you

    •  Рік тому

I haven't used it specifically with Tams, but since the mixer just shows up as a mic and speakers, it should work the same, so long as you select them in Teams.

I'd like to know more about the speaker system in the room. I have my own speaker and I'm wondering how the set up would work with the audio mixer. I'm assuming I would just connect the mixer to my speaker. I'm wondering how the speaker system in the room will be heard on Zoom.

Okay...just re-watching the clip about the audio mixer. What I'm hearing you say is that the mixer will combine the sound system in the room with the audio going into the mic for a smooth sound on Zoom. So Zoom attendees will not hear both the speaker system in the room and whoever is talking into the connected mics as long as the usb is plugged into the mixer and laptop and selected as the speaker?

    •  2 роки тому +1

Yes that's correct. The mixer will make sure there's no feedback, and will just send one "mic" signal to Zoom. And Zoom knows not to play that back to the room. That's why you can use Zoom without headphones, because your own voice will never be played back to you.

    • @indyrealestateexperts
      @indyrealestateexperts 2 роки тому

@ and do you suggest using the speaker system to connect the Zoom attendees or still using the planotronics conference speaker...or no preference? I think my speaker will connect via bluetooth to my computer, which should allow me to use it as the Zoom speaker, I've just never done that for some reason. Seems it would make for less equipment, though.

@@indyrealestateexperts If there's a speaker system in the room, I always recommend using it. Especially in bigger rooms, that little conference speaker might not be loud enough. It's great for small meeting rooms though.

Hi Markus, if you don't have USB sound on the mixer, you just get one of those USB sound adapters for the laptop with 3.5mm connections to 1/4 connector to mixer. Is this correct?

    •  5 місяців тому

You could do that, but the benefit of using USB is that you get audio both in and out. With regular audio cables, you would need one in each direction, assuming that the mixer can even handle that.

@ many mixers don't have USB so the adapter is needed. Great vids!

Great content. Thanks for all you do. Please clarify from the setup #1 - can the room audience hear the people on Zoom? For my setup, we want to allow the Zoom people to ask questions and have the presenter and the people in the room hear the questions. We have a portable PA system with a built-in 4 channel mixer. I intend to connect the presenter's mic to the PA mixer to provide his voice for the in-room participants. The PA has a 3.5 mm output that I was planning to connect to the computer as the audio source for Zoom. What I don't understand is how to make the remote people's Zoom audio available to the in-room people without causing echo. Thanks if you can answer.

    •  Рік тому

Try connecting the mixer with a USB cable like so: ua-cam.com/video/eQGJFbRmCe4/v-deo.html
Then it will handle audio in and out.

@ unfortunately no USB on the mixer, it is a simple model built into a portable pa system. But we were able to achieve our goals using two microphones and your videos as inspiration.

Thank you for this excellent breakdown. I do have a question: where does the orange cable from the phone camera on the stage connect? I see the feed on the laptop screen but don't see where it connects to the laptop as the audience camera does.

    •  2 роки тому

The orange cable just supplies power to the Android phone. The phone is connected to the meeting via wifi.

Another question, as my next event is this week...on my birthday, no less! Why wouldn't the audio mixer on OBS be sufficient?

    •  2 роки тому +1

      Happy birthday in advance!
The audio mixer in OBS is certainly sufficient, if you have someone who switches between the microphones manually. Or if you have mics that don't pick up voices from the whole room. It's worth experimenting with!

    Hi Markus,
I am looking for solutions for using 4 wireless clip on mics for zoom meetings and, as you've recommended, I'm currently using OBS' virtual cable so zoom can recognize it as one input. However, I'm having issues with sound quality, which I think is being caused by signal interference of having too many mics. To be clear, there's no echoing or anything, the audio is just unstable and cuts out every now and again.
I was wondering if the USB mixer in the video would work with wireless microphones?Would be a more ideal setup compared to my current one?
Any help would be appreciated and thanks for the video!

    •  11 місяців тому

In theory, you could probably plug the wireless receives into the mixer. But if they're interfering with each other, that might not help much.

Really great and helpful videos. I am struggling a bit to settle on the equipment for our space for hybrid meetings. Our room is approximately 25'x30' and can comfortably fit 40-50 people (though it never gets that full). There is no wall mounted audio hooked up to the space. There's one very large television that can be used for seminars or ppt presentations. I was thinking of a plug and play solution for us to get audio and video so the Polybar seems tempting so the folks on Zoom could see the audience and when they talk, the audio could come through there. I envision the speaker wearing a lapel mic while presenting and folks on zoom can toggle between the presentation and the audience. A separate mic for the audience to ask questions and be also heard on zoom. Would I need a mixer since multiple mics will be involved?
I appreciate any info or suggestions. Thank you!

    •  Рік тому

If you can't plug all the mics into the laptop, then you'll need a mixer. If you try plugging them into different laptops you'll get audio feedback.

Hi Markus, I am trying to setup audio for a town hall. The staff want speakers in the meeting room (approx 1800-2000 sq ft)--but, they want the speakers to include the audio from the presenters in the room, in addition to the remote attendees via zoom. In the video around 8:40, you talk about having multiple audio inputs going to the speakers via the mixer, but it seems as though they would all be coming from the laptop. The speakers would just be in the back of the room for people in that area, as it can be difficult to hear the presenter at the front of the room. I am having trouble wrapping my head around how to setup the zoom/audio so that the microphone will output to the speakers and the zoom meeting, while still outputting the audio from the remote zoom attendees. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated, please!

    •  Рік тому +1

The audio into the mixer comes both from the in-room mics, and from the laptop (Zoom audio). The mixer will then play it into the room speaker system.

    Hi, Markus,
I am looking for a solution for Google Meet in a large room with about 30+30 Hybrid Audience.
scenarios are: Speaker on the Floor output should come on the speakers and the same should go into the Laptop as input for the remote audience.
single mic to be used for Floor and Remote input.
    is it possible?

    •  Рік тому

Yep, with a mixing desk and a USB connection you can do it.

    Hi, Markus,
Thanks for a great video! Question, I have a large room in a unique arrangement for our hybrid meetings - typically about 30-60 people live and perhaps 24+ remote. Our unique situation is is that we take our "show on the road" so everything has to to be portable - we can't always rely on places for audio and video support. We even bring our own hot spot and router.
For the 30-60 live folks we have 9 round tables of 6 people facing a stage. The tables are arranged in a 3 wide by 3 deep configuration. We have the stage mic'd up for the presenters. We have two video projectors - one to display the current slides / presenter and the other to display all the remote people in the Zoom meeting so that the live people can see them.
My question is how do we get the folks online to hear the people sitting at the round tables when they ask a question / make a comment? Would it be best to have one old iPhone at each of the 9 round tables that are logged in to the Zoom meeting that can serve as the table's mic / video camera? That way when a person at the table wants to speak they are essentially unmute and then speak though the Zoom meeting and everyone can hear them. Would that create some bad feedback?
Or, do you think there is a better way to do this? We would really like to avoid buying a lot of microphones (and avoid running the wire for all of them) each time we speak.
    Thanks for your insights!

    •  2 роки тому +1

That iPhone approach will lead to audio feedback, for sure.
The simplest support is to set up a dedicated area where guests come and ask questions. Place a mic there and connect it to the mixer. This is the approach I see working the best at conferences and events these days.
