It sure is! Honestly if it was only 1 ft off the ground anyone would ride it without a second thought. It's pretty wide, but that height makes it way harder. Lots of my friends won't ride it.
Nothing better to start my day than watching a Cutlaps episode wearing my Cutlaps shirt before going to the gym. Snow has finally melted, I'm hitting the trails tomorrow! I loved the editing (and the doggo as always), but man that looks scary with the wood flexing at the middle.
Haha yeiw!!! Stoked the snow has finally melted for you. It will be good to get back out on your bike. When you ride across the log you really don't notice it flexing at all. And with the type of wood there isn't much worry of it breaking for a long time.
Thanks mate! There was a vision but the skill was pretty much learnt on the spot. I like to get out there and give it a go and wasn't sure if it would work or not. But it turned out great. Thanks for watching.
Yup just a small channel here. I chose quality over quantity which they say isn't the best choice when starting a UA-cam channel. But I just love putting together these rad features and a video to match. Stoked you found the channel and thanks for leaving a comment.

Great little series, thanks. My son and i built a covid lock down track down here in Tassie. After watching your videos we are inspired to add a few extra features. Might even buy an Alaskan mill. Cheers.
Hey mate. Thats great to hear. Did you take any photos or video of your trail? Thats so cool you are in Tassie, I hear the best riding in Australia is there. You should get a milling chain, or also called a skip tooth. They are cut at a 10° angle rather than 30° and it’s more aggressive specifically for Alaskan milling.
Hey Trail Jockey! Cool I can see you have gone through and watched lots of my videos. Thanks. I have a couple of skip tooth chains, but I find I get a quicker cut with my regular chain. I have 90cc chainsaw and I'm not making very thick cuts, so it's not getting bogged down at all (one of the main reasons for skip tooth chains is it takes less wood at a time allowing for higher revs). A skip tooth chain also creates a smoother finish, which is great when using the wood for building furniture, but for the trail it really doesn't matter to me. The main reason that I find it quicker than the skip tooth is sharpening. I have the Stihl 2 in 1 sharpner that is so easy to use to get it super sharp and it's doesn't work on skip tooth chains. My hand filing skills are a bit crap lol. Really should work on that a bit more. Thats just been my personal experience with milling.
If you feel like more of a challenge you could put angled slats in on the first corner which may make entry easier, and same as the exit, so you can try come out wider and possibly faster (to build momentum from)
I was actually thinking of that before I build it. But would have required more work than I had time for. I actually like that the first corner is the trickiest part. It acts as a squirrel catcher for less advanced riders. My thoughts are if you can't make the first corner than you probably shouldn't be on a skinny that high up. The look of the angled slats would be awesome and I definetly want to try that somewhere else on the trail.

Cheers Peter! Thanks for checking out the channel. Endless possibilities out on the trail. Are there any features you would like to see me build?
@@cutlaps Honestly I would really like to know more about you as a person! Maybe a vlog about a day in the life, and telling us about your background and how you came to be such a great trail builder!! I just graduated university and my dream would be to make trail systems, so I am curious how you got where you are!
Oh thats cool to hear. Good video idea. If you go back to the very first episode there is a little information about me and my background and how I got into trail building. But honestly before I started this channel I didn't have much experience as a builder. I just got out there and started digging. So this channel has been a pretty good documentation of my life as a trail builder.
love the sketchyness bro
Haha me too. Lots of my friends aren't a fan though haha.
@@cutlaps hahah yeah I’m in the same boat I think they are just little babies 👶 🤣😂
Awesome
Thanks mate!
Turns out awesome man!! Love the effort taken to use this where it is
Thanks Chris! This tree fell across the trail when I was filming the first episode. I knew excatly what I wanted to do as soon as I saw it. Stoked with how it turned out.
