MCM Just want to say your production in the last video was fantastic and you guys inspire us to do our best! Been a fan for over 7 years and am happy to see it keep going, the team up with Roadkill(my other favorite show) was awesome for all us fans so THANK YOU!
Or it could be you hinted to your own channel rather then just nicely and silent say " hey nice vid love the camera and editing ya did...." you right though... you did not give any hint to say anything about your vid... Kappa.
Watching this in 2024 after having watched the MCM vs RK episode many times i'm actually bummed by the fact that none of the the roadkill crew, let alone David or Mike commented on this. Correct me if i'm wrong but i got the sentation from the episode that the Motortrend Channel is really self centered. That's also why I think the reverse cross-over episode of them comming to Australia never took place. I got the idea that they couldn't care less. Excluding the Covid pandemic obviously. I like Roadkill...Like a lot! But I love MightyCarMods. Been watching you guys since the very start. Don't ever sell out. Don't ever go corporate. Just you two guys and your mates is what makes this show. Please stay pure as you have always been. You're doing a great job! Regards from the Netherlands.
Russell Cupples you're in for a treat man. MCM has been at it for a long time working on building their channels from the ground up. Lots of back catalog for you to enjoy.
my grandmother died on the 19th of December i say she was my grandmother but in truth she was more of a mother to me she raised me since i was 3 years old she loved Christmas more than anything I thought that on Christmas day i would not be able to even smile when you're guys video went live it was honestly was the best thing i could do. i was alone on Christmas but watching you guys made me feel like i was around friends
Dont get me wrong, I loved that Impala from Roadkill.. Largely because I'm a huge fan of Rat Rods and bold and brash muscle cars (that engine/exhaust tho) But that Subarute? That thing is amazing! both for the quality of work in only 2/3 days but if nothing else the fact that it just seemed to be a damn nice car, that I personally LOVED the look of.
Im still kinda butthurt that they didnt weld the rear diff on the impala. That would have made it so much better of a car (Kinda). Still though, it was super cool to see all this footage
Babyblue1992 my guess is, if they welded the diff they would have torn that old boat to pieces with the extra traction and massive torque. The driveline from the trans yoke back was only designed for a third of the power they stuffed in her.
As a fan of both roadkill and your show I think y'all did an exceptional job. Y'all had such a incredible wall of jet lag and you did not know how crazy roadkill is. I can't wait to see them in Australia and fighting jet lag
Subaru's are in high demand. My 05 STi hasn't depreciated in the 6 years I've owned it. I paid 19,500 for it and recently when looking at a brz was offered 20 to trade it in. the dealer would probably flip it for 23. it's nuts.
I'm a Canadian from near Toronto and recently visited Sydney on business. The time difference is way more wild than people realize. Congrats on making /anything/ happen in such a short timeline after that travel. You guys are awesome!
im a roadkill fan from the states, i have done the gragweek event with the hotrod/roadkill crew. i have never seen your show until today amd i have to admit your challenge mcm vs rk was EPIC!!! i will be a long time watcher keep up the good work!
Did they not want the full roadkill experience??? 😂 hahah That’s how roadkill does things. It’s part of the charm of the channel. You play it fast and loose and break down on road trips and rig stuff to get you home 8) Also I love MCM. It’s such a great car show. 👍🏻🤘🏻❤️
Man as soon as I saw the background to where they were doing the drive by that stadium, I was like. YEP GREG. how to eat mustangs by turboing the miata
You guys are so awesome , love your show. Just found you by accident watching road kill. I have such a deep respect for what you do. So happy to see both groups be so cool to each other, was such a blast to watch. Thank you so much.
I started watching this episode least expecting to see my home city in the end. That's crazy. I hadn't had the slightest clue to see San Diego. Mind is blown. Qualcomm Stadium is now all gone.
Just want to say thank you for the speaker turn down warning! And this was awesome. Didn't realize till like a year later you had a part 2 so just watching this part for the first time today
My one comment is that the Roadkill cats really built a piece of shit while MCM tried hard to built a proper vehicle. And by proper i mean something cheap that runs well enough. Disrespect yo.
Toms Tech 7 guys built the subarute? if so, yeah thats another story. But regardless Roadkill's build was lacking imo. Specially it being built for people traveling an ocean to colab with them.
As much as I like Roadkill, I'm kinda inclined to agree. I loved the Impala, that engine and the way it sounded, but it felt like they kinda phoned it in on the build.....
So here's a story: I watch MCM religiously, but due to financial trouble, I end up disconnected from the internet for a while. Move to a new city, reconnect and hop on youtube. Come to find out, if i had stayed in town for a few more days, I could have met my heroes when they traveled across the globe to basically where I used to work. FML
Good on ya mates, your Subarute owned the. I grew up in San Diego and auto crossed my Datsun 510 in the Jack Murphy Stadium parking lot for years. Great to see MCM stomping my old stomping ground.
As a big Roadkill fan, who has only seen (but did enjoy) a couple of your videos, I have to say that this video right here was the best part of the whole collab. And what a great idea, I must add. I'm not sure if you guys have done another one yet, but I'll be sure to keep an eye out. It's funny, because the Roadkill guys are really more muscle car people, and I'm more of a Japanese car guy myself (and I freaking love utes, I wish we had more of them here!), but I love the "make it work long enough to get to point B" nature of Roadkill and Finnegan and Freiburger have great personalities that really make me love the show. I gotta say though, it was quite hilarious seeing you guys react to the car they built. I think that was my favorite part. I'm going to start watching more of your videos, you guys are great!
I want to see a race between your two 240Zs. Your legitimate awesome build and their thrown together madmax-esque build. Though that's probably a pipe dream due to shipping.
I know you guys had 4 guys helping you out, but it is absolutely insane how much work you got done in the time it took roadkill to do an engine swap. And that's not to put down, roadkill, what they did is very impressive also, but you guys are nuts!! Love this channel and roadkill and this mashup was EPIC
The event was great, hopefully you guys can make more events like this one in the future. In RK defense their 1969 Impala was a 33 year older than the Subaru WRX, something to consider for those who are questioning their car not running properly. Also the big engine, besides making more troubles than performance, was a great boost to the whole thing. Cheers!
Because swapping a big block engine into a small block car in a parking lot with hand tools (no power tools) over just two days or so, with just one friend, is minimal effort.
MCM, when you do things, you put your hearts on it, and it really makes the difference on the screen.
"I drove here in a Subaru that worked" Love it
Should have dropped a mic XD
Mine is a 2.2 ts Impreza 2000 with over 370,000 kilometres, everything original, Haleluyah. 😇
My 97 and 99 have been running for 25ish years, what’s the point
MCM Just want to say your production in the last video was fantastic and you guys inspire us to do our best! Been a fan for over 7 years and am happy to see it keep going, the team up with Roadkill(my other favorite show) was awesome for all us fans so THANK YOU!
GearHeads Garage I agree mate I hope you have a good day
so sad you comment here in the way you did to try and get attention for your channel.
quite sad indeed.
shawnkiller90 Or what I said is true and we do take inspiration from them and are huge fans, I was pretty straight.
Or it could be you hinted to your own channel rather then just nicely and silent say " hey nice vid love the camera and editing ya did...."
you right though... you did not give any hint to say anything about your vid... Kappa.
shawnkiller90 Ok Mr Butthurt :)

Regards from the Netherlands.
I think this behind the scenes episode was just as good to watch as the actual MCM vs roadkill episode
Seth Baker Agree
This thing turned out so cool it actually works so much better than it should!
thedownshiftchannel totally agree this thing is badass
BOOSTBLOG sometimes things need to be tried to make something so cool!
thedownshiftchannel nice seeing you hear i hope to own an r34 one day too
KianiGamingHD thanks! Have a good day dude!
The Subi is awesome. I'd so buy one of those.
I never heard of you guys till I saw you on Roadkill and I deem it an honor to have found you guys . I have a new show to watch now .
Russell Cupples
you're in for a treat man. MCM has been at it for a long time working on building their channels from the ground up. Lots of back catalog for you to enjoy.
I see .I've been watching some of their stuff this Morning .It looks promising
Russell Cupples my favorite is still Daisy and super Gramps
mcm is a great channel, been watching since the start when they would mod cars on a driveway in a quiet street hahah
I will try to find that one Rabbit .TY
#MCMRKAUS18
this
i dont want to wait that long
Roadkill, tweet back #MCMRKAUS17! Dont make us wait!!!
Mighty Car Mods yeah
THIS
my grandmother died on the 19th of December i say she was my grandmother but in truth she was more of a mother to me she raised me since i was 3 years old she loved Christmas more than anything I thought that on Christmas day i would not be able to even smile when you're guys video went live it was honestly was the best thing i could do. i was alone on Christmas but watching you guys made me feel like i was around friends
ok
r.i.p roadkill coming to australia because motor trend not posting on UA-cam anymore
Yeah, I was subbed to MTOD for 18 months, then just gave up
Wait whats this about now?
Yeah all there videos are private
@@lukearnold6896 yup, tried to watch part 2 just now and its private
So they're behind a paywall...
Im Just sad now
Dont get me wrong, I loved that Impala from Roadkill..
I agree but at one moment there were 6 dudes working on it!
6 hyper jetlagged dudes vs 2 guys on home turf ^_^
I'd Like to see where the Subarute would go with they went legit with it! who else who be excited for that ??
Agree! its amazing where they went in 2 days!
BUGEYE is a funny but good looking subaru!
+Josue Reyes Arce
yes true I use to hate it but when I got it I love it
Shika Racing I'm really hoping for round 2, I hope they take there cars back for more mods! come on McM don't waste the take 2!
Surely the obvious thing to do it to take the engine from Roadkill's Impala, and put it in the Scooby?
And BANG goes the transmission!
you can tell moog is annoyed with how the roadkill car didnt work
probably because they spent so much time on the subarute and roadkill like always just threw a nice engine in an old chassis.
well I would be too
Or, he was just tired.
if youll watch both of videos from roadkill and mcm. marty also had that same expressions.
reallunacy and when youre tired youre more irritable and annoyed, so it was probably a combination
Start to finish, quality entertainment (y)
I watched it at Christmas but without diarrhea
WasabiCars didn't know you were a fan of this. awesome man. keep up the great vids!
I'm generally too busy to spend time watching UA-cam. Sometimes I have to stick my head up and see what's going on. ;-)
WasabiCars hi
G'day. :)
"I drove here in a Subaru that works" hahahaha mogg was pissseeeeddd hahahahaha
Im still kinda butthurt that they didnt weld the rear diff on the impala. That would have made it so much better of a car (Kinda). Still though, it was super cool to see all this footage
Babyblue1992 my guess is, if they welded the diff they would have torn that old boat to pieces with the extra traction and massive torque. The driveline from the trans yoke back was only designed for a third of the power they stuffed in her.
Breaking an axle shaft is never pretty with c-clip rearend.
They disconnected the power steering, add a lock diff and trying to turn at slow speed would've been much more difficult.
Babyblue1992 The Impala was a piece of shit as it is no need to make it worse by welding the differential
Babyblue1992 it would be too dangerous with that much power
love it. CAN'T WAIT for roadkill to go to Aus to do it again. KEEP IT UP
I choose option C.... #MCMRKAUS18
the world needs more girls like the one on the yellow cart thing.
MORE WOMEN ON YELLOW CARTS!!
Yea, she was a lively little thing, very cool
"We brought a ute" She didn't have a clue what was going on.
As a fan of both roadkill and your show I think y'all did an exceptional job. Y'all had such a incredible wall of jet lag and you did not know how crazy roadkill is. I can't wait to see them in Australia and fighting jet lag
They did an episode of Roadkill in Australia already. Episode 10, with a Holden with 727 in it.
Chris Gee people use slang all the time. Get over it. I don’t use that word specifically but plenty of people in southern states do.
Chris Gee sure 😂
MCM did a great quality build with the Subarute
You guys did a really good job with that Subarute, but holy crap that POS was $4k??? I knew there was AWD tax but I didn't know it was that bad.
Yeah it is that bad, we thought that was expensive too!
an 02 wrx with 100+k in texas goes for 8-9k USD!
alfredo lizama here in Kentucky it's the same way, it sucks
Subaru's are in high demand. My 05 STi hasn't depreciated in the 6 years I've owned it. I paid 19,500 for it and recently when looking at a brz was offered 20 to trade it in. the dealer would probably flip it for 23. it's nuts.

I'm a Canadian from near Toronto and recently visited Sydney on business. The time difference is way more wild than people realize. Congrats on making /anything/ happen in such a short timeline after that travel. You guys are awesome!
Dude that was awesome and love the flapper on the exhaust!
im a roadkill fan from the states, i have done the gragweek event with the hotrod/roadkill crew. i have never seen your show until today amd i have to admit your challenge mcm vs rk was EPIC!!! i will be a long time watcher keep up the good work!
moog looked a little annoyed that the roadkill car kept braking but that seemed to pass as soon has he drove it! lol American muscle!!!
Mutt Head moog was probably extremely jet lagged.
I want this subie more then you can imagine
Did they not want the full roadkill experience??? 😂 hahah
That’s how roadkill does things. It’s part of the charm of the channel. You play it fast and loose and break down on road trips and rig stuff to get you home 8)
Also I love MCM. It’s such a great car show. 👍🏻🤘🏻❤️
That was the hardest thing for Moog to admit. He drove a Subaru that worked!!! Ha, ha!
We were doing exhaust sound offs (Decibal Drags) in the 90's in Adelaide (Small Car Sunday). Great vid.
MCM has done a bunch of mighty stuff with Subies before. This build is the coolest modded Subaru yet, can't wait to see it next time!
The one day the Miata was broken and I was whipping the E46, lol.
It still looks sweet in the back ground! Did you ever do a rematch between that and B&B?
Albie Beck The rematch is going down this weekend >:)
TheCarPassionChannel I new I recognized that bimmer from somewhere
Lol basically the background of most of my videos
Man as soon as I saw the background to where they were doing the drive by that stadium, I was like. YEP GREG. how to eat mustangs by turboing the miata
I'm still astonished this happened. One of the best lookbacks ever!
"I drove here in a Suburu that worked.... Good night.." ahhhhahaahah
I live in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. and am now not only a RoadKill fan, but a Mighty Car Mods fan as well. Great show guys!!
That Roadkill episode introduced me to MCM. Great shows! Thank you!
explode your speakers? can't be tha oh God!
lol my thoughts as well - i have a killer soundcard and quality headset and shit in my pants
Soon to be dead speakers meet open headers !
YES THE BUGEYE is BACK!
agree saw that you guys have a bugeye too nice car! subbed.
Shika Racing saws your channel sick bugeye!
Owen Harrison yeah I saw hope they make more it's a clean build
Josue, yeah haha its my daily haha
👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 found your comment out of thousands haha!
this is awesome i like watching behind the scenes to see how the episodes came to be and get that little bit of something extra
C. I told my family about it and they really wanted to watch it so we all enjoyed both videos together!
The roadkill special was my first video that I had watched from you guys and now have subscribed, keep up the great work guys
I have stopped watching RK since they went all MTOD.... You're my salvation!
But will it fit in my honda?
I miss the s2000
I miss Alan's hate face whenever he hears the word Honda
I believe you should be able to fit 12000 pictures in your glove box so yes it will fit.
The mix of hatred and on the verge of having a stroke
THANK YOU MOOG FOR THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT I GOT. I APPRECIATE YOU MAN!
Love these insight/behind the scenes vids, lads!
Disappointed that they missed the "that's not a knife" joke
OMG I KNOW XD
I've just been scrolling through here to check whether this had been done...
Lol a lot ha
How funny would it have been if the Americans said it
It looks like I'll be watching Mighty Car Mods for awhile..... #MCMRKAUS18!!!!!!!
I absolutely loved seeing the behind the scenes and how it all came together. Looked like a complete blast!
21:50 both teams are awesome but the Subarute Won this build! 💯🤙
all the best in the 2017. keep up the good work guys ;)
32:29 after all that hard work and waiting lowkey broke my heart
Greetings from Greece Guys ✌
Bratsoni pontiki?
Just want to say thank you for the speaker turn down warning! And this was awesome. Didn't realize till like a year later you had a part 2 so just watching this part for the first time today
Yeah clearly the boys from MCM won this round. Big ups from South Africa.
Man id daily drive that subarute maybe get an actual exhaust made for it 😂
I'm pretty sure that shit is just to load 😂
loud*
load*
Recreational_Shit • sounds like a project car in the future ;)
Harvard Ford it's a definite maybe I need help though I can't weld worth a shit lmao
Next time you just need to drive side by side down the interstate with jumper cables between you.
*hand raised* I dipped out early so I could watch it as soon as it launched.
Or charge the nearly dead battery in the Subarute???!!!
It would take a while and still require a couple extra batteries.
Subarute FTW! Love it! Great job guys!
I kept watching all your videos and most of my inspiration to be in Australia and learn automivotive engineering was you!
You guys are awesome (y)
That was great. Thanks for letting us get to sort of meet you, know you better.I subscribed at the 1st part.
My speakers, didn't blown, but my mind did! I
Q. What kind of car solves mysteries?
A. A Scoobaru.
Alex Paulsen
Thata bRoy*
definitely underestimated the loudness of that v8 clip XD
Definitely THE coolest car I've ever seen. I come back to the main video at least twice a year, just to see and hear it!
I can't get over what nice guys you are! Came here through the collab, will stay. Keep rocking!
My one comment is that the Roadkill cats really built a piece of shit while MCM tried hard to built a proper vehicle. And by proper i mean something cheap that runs well enough.
Disrespect yo.
CrustyModernLife? If you ever watched roadkill, it's what they do. Both shows are entertaining in their own ways
CrustyModernLife? 7 guys vs 2 much?
Ken O Na, im not familiar with Roadkill's build record.
Toms Tech 7 guys built the subarute? if so, yeah thats another story. But regardless Roadkill's build was lacking imo. Specially it being built for people traveling an ocean to colab with them.
As much as I like Roadkill, I'm kinda inclined to agree. I loved the Impala, that engine and the way it sounded, but it felt like they kinda phoned it in on the build.....
thank you to have made this a reality. simply thank you...
FML
The Vanwulf wow bro. deep

Sucks to be you
Good on ya mates, your Subarute owned the.

33:10 OH YEA!! wide body Mitsubishi STARION or Plymouth Conquest. Those 2.6 SOHC intercooled turbo cars are beasts of their time and are LEGENDARY!!!
I want to see a race between your two 240Zs. Your legitimate awesome build and their thrown together madmax-esque build. Though that's probably a pipe dream due to shipping.
That would be interesting actually. I'd have a feeling who would win, but I'd love to see it regardless.
2018 and I still enjoy watching this competition!
I watched it Christmas morning just after opening presents thank you for all your hard work guys Oli uk
Foo Fighters and SpaceX?
It the small things.. you guys are mad!
ALSO YOU STOPPED AT THE OREILEYS IN MY HOMETOWN!!!
Alyn Penners same! Crazy to think they where in corona.
I like both the shows. but apples to apples roadkill has Finnegan who builds 1500+ hp engines by himself.
it honestly made me mad how Road Kill sort of half added the car while MCM worked really hard on theres. but I'll Gove Roadkill credit for he engine
19:06 the guy on the far left has an awesome jacket
2018 is my graduation year
Brice Graham the engine was still half assed installed.. i agree though
John V. yeah it really was. They shoudve done what MCM did rather than get some junker and throwing a big block with no charger
do you watch roadkill? they always breakdown and that's the point of the show.
You guys are having and doing it all don't lose the fun. Really appreciate your efforts. Great work.
I love you guys! Not just MCM and RK, but all people around cars. Thank you all!
RIP headphone listeners when they started the V8 engine.
Soooo Mighty Car Mods and Regular Car Reviews crossover?
Cameron Clarke yes!
33:14 that fucking starion is on point
Cheers!
Im so glad it was a Subaru! I love Subaru's!!!
played that clip of how loud the impala was through my 30 watt marshal amp on full and it rattled my house
honestly you built a better car than roadkill. you put more personality into the car rather than just putting a big loud engine on a car.
I am quite happy you have made this video and this whole thing happening. Big thanks to you and your team! Great work!
Awesome effort, both shows did their thing, the result was a lot of fun.
Bring on the rematch!
Roadkill half assed it MCM killed them
IzzyWRX when has road kill full assed it?
Well they just roadkilled it...
Oh and what's your record big block swap time?
Nobody cares about the stupid engine swap, the car roadkill produced was shit xD But hey thats what they're known for I guess, shit cars.
IzzyWRX they did I alright job but they could have tried to make car work better like mcm did and make it look a lil decent
ROADKILL KINDA PUT IN MINIMAL EFFORT
BIIIIIIIIIG9 Murica
Well it's roadkill that's kinda what they do
Because swapping a big block engine into a small block car in a parking lot with hand tools (no power tools) over just two days or so, with just one friend, is minimal effort.
MCM had a 5 man team with a fully equipped garage. RK only had a parking lot with some tools. They did an amazing job with their limited resources.
knol500 not only that, but that is what Roadkill is about, junk that honestly shouldnt run or drive but still does.
what does the red button do?
0.o
Thienquy Vu things
The Honda Roll bar gave the car VTEC, it's a manual switch ;)
That darn subaru always impress me how quality built it is. And what you have done to this one is amazing.
Do it again. Thanks to the MCM guys I now am a road kill fan too. All crazy and right up my street. All the way from the UK.
If it was a build off, y'all kiled it I love roadkill but they were pathetic
Yea, it would have been a much more balanced show if they collaborated with Hot Rod Garage.
they both looked like a hack job but the Subarute looked like so much more work was put in
they had a team of pros on their way to SEMA
You try and swap a big block into a small block chassis with only hand tools and 1 friend.
I reckon it'd be an epic build off if they got *_TUUUUUUURRRRRBOOOOOO YOOOOOODDDDAAAAAAA_* involved.
Did the 2018 thing ever happen?
ok, so three weeks of checking for a new video... Can I bribe someone with Tofu for an update please?
Your projects and videos continue to get better and better. Just awesome.
Thank you guys for making my most anticipated tv/Internet episode of anything for Christmas!
