Hi Brian - inspring as always. When you were discussing how heavy a full aquarium would be - it reminded me of the 20000 leagues ride in Disneyland Japan. Where they simulate an underwater ride by creating a ultra thin tank of water in the submarine windows with a bubbler at the bottom -sandwiching water between two acrylic plates - so you are looking through the 1/4 inch of water at the completely dry ünderwater"" scenes beyond. You could do the same (if you were doing it again) - with the tank - get a slightly smaller aquarium to fit inside - and filling only the gap between the two tanks with water and bubbler outlet. Should be lighter and allows you to put something in the inner tank without it getting wet. Just a thought and probably harder than I think to do.
I have been eagerly awaiting this update. This channel has changed my life from just watching Star Wars to living in it. Thank you for all the inspo & guides. 🙌🏻
That came out great! Yes I loved the Galaxy's edge vibe you got going on there too. that portal looks like the one where the alien pops up while your taking a drink from the water fountain! lol awesome!
The Cantina is looking amazing! I wonder if you could somehow build a thin tank to hold water just behind the aquarium front to give the illusion of it being filled with water but without the weight becoming an issue? Still it looks amazing - Great job!
With the aquarium, what if you found another acrylic tube about an 1” smaller OD and use that on the inside to give the illusion that it’s full without having to fill it up completely with water. So you only have a 1” thick water layer between the two acrylic tubes. Just a thought.
I subscribed to your channel for years, but mainly watch on a TV. I finally got around to reading the descriptions on another device and realized just how valuable all the product links you share are. Just placed about a $750 order on Amazon, primarily through your affiliate links. Hope it helps!
Dear Brian you are very lucky : your cantina is more comfy and pleasant that the Mosesley old smuglers cantina !!! Do you have some ideas about all the furnitures used in that cantina ? Not only for the desk (?) but also for the custumers ? Plates, glasses, seats, but also advertissements about strange beverages and weird foods ? I am sure Carrissa has some magnificent projects about all this mass !
Now you need to make some Star Wars tap handles. Not just for your tap but as decorations. My small (20 +) handle collection is one of my favorite things. Especially the ones from small breweries with funny names. As always, great work!
Looks outstanding, have you considered making a glass rack hanging down from the pipe? Like a wine glass rack and the whiskey glass holder to prevent dust collection in them.
Working on a very similar project right now. It’s cool to see the different approaches. My tank tapered too, but I caught it in planning because I’m one to plan everything before cutting anything
Love how the bar is looking.. You said you wanted to put a creature in it you should look up Schleich Eldrador Ice Spider would look great.. The brand has a few creatures that would be out of this world for your builds.. Plus I think your next tank you should go with a fire affect with one of those fire lightbulbs you can fine in a few different colors.. Keep building..
Love this Brian!! And you already know what a huge fan I am of the Fat Bantha Beer you have on tap!!! My mouth was watering as you took a big drink lol! Most excellent work my friend. And again... even more amazing in person!! Still can't believe I'm able to say that!!!
Looking great! Don't knock your execution style. I am similar. I am currently prepping for Halloween and building a large scale replica of the scene from Disney's Trick or Treat. It will have Huey, Dewey and Louie around the caldron and Witch Hazel as well. Sometimes you have to take a break, let your mind and soul catch up a bit then jump back in. Here's my idea on your tank. Since it is a tapered design, you could get another tank, cut it down so that the top and bottom edges aren't visible through the oblong cutout. Measure the deltas between of the styrene cutout and then subtract that from the cut down aquarium but make sure you account for the thickness of the bottom of the aquarium other because you dont want to see the bottom of the nestled aquarium. Place it inside the other aquarium tank, fill that with the fluid and a bubbler could be integrated on the backside. I can picture it in my head and will try to render something in Blender and post it like on printables so you can see since Im not sure how to get a back of napkin diagram over to you.
Bro, looks sick. Coming along fantastic. Bee to WDW 2 time, spent a lot of time in Galaxy's Edge but have yet to go in the Cantina. Its always packed and stupid anxiety issues. Nice to see a piece for the room coming together man. Keep the momentum going.
Another great project and video. Love seeing others' creative processes, and this was just what I needed to liven things up between boring conference calls!
It turned out great! I mess around with old Jukeboxes, and one of the tricks they used for some bubbles, they would have a tube inside another tube that way only the gap between the 2 tubes has to have liquid. It cuts down on the weight dramatically. I love how your is turning out.
That aquarium looks great i am wondering if you thought about adding a second clear container to take up room on the inside to create lower volume bubbling liquid and having the creature dry in the center looking like it's floating in liquid?
You can also laser cut styrene (if the piece you want to fit fits in your laser cutter). That's how I cut my droid skins. If fact access to a laser cutter is what made me undertake building a droid!
@@TheSmugglersRoom you sure can! You can cut ABS as well but that smells really bad. Styrene does not have an odor though for the most part and cuts very nicely. If you decide to try it I would start with small test pieces to see how it works on your machine. Keep an eye on it just to make sure nothing really bad happens. And unlike acrylic, you can't really engrave, just cut. The main materials I would NOT cut on a laser are polycarbonate (aka lexan, because it does not look good) and PVC (sometimes just referred to as vinyl) which can release nastiness. EVA foam, even though it contains vinyl, can be cut because it is vinyl acetate and not vinyl chloride. Take this comment with a grain of salt though, your milage may vary and you assume all risks, etc etc. Keep up your awesome builds!

Hello, you probvably received this question a lot of time, but do you know where can i buy this type of set for a star wars themed room ? Even plan for making the whole house haha. I have plan to make something really realistic, like your in disney. I live in france, i don't know if there's such shop here. Thanks
Do you mean to purchase what we have made here for our room? I am not aware of any shop that you can buy this sort of thing, but maybe you could use the things we teach and make one for yourself?
Here's a quick video of what I was trying to suggest I just put together for you Brian : ua-cam.com/video/0g_P1fJwmIc/v-deo.html Now I am going to have to build this. Mine will have a xenomorph though LOL!

Aaaaahhhhhhh so exciting! It's looking great! I've been under the weather for a few days but I dragged myself out of bed to watch this on the big TV!

pretty cool. I like that you will have butter beer.

if u use a double walled container, u can add liquid without it eing to heavy, in the doubled layer.
