The problem is that you remember the alternate timeline with time-travel, butterfly effect could be happening right now, butterfly effect can only be truly tested with time travel and changing something really minor
Isnt any sort of time being messed with a paradox. Like, even if it works out, it working out depends on the people going back to fix it. So if you fix a problem in the past, there wouldn't be a need to go back and fix it in the modern/future time....meaning it wouldnt have gotten fixed, meaning it would be fucked up again.....? Time travel is confusing
Mable learned the vending machine trick from Soos, but she then went back in time and taught it to Soos... That means there's no real origin of the vending machine trick. So forgive me if I'm wrong, but that sounds like a Bootstrap Paradox.
@@ashleyjohnson9651 The Novikov Self-Consistency Principle is one conceptual paradigm that proposes a sort of predestination. Any time travel that happens was always going to happen and its consequences were already part of the past.
@@ShawnPattonC so that means that time travel.....cant actually fix anything according to that? Or it can? So say a guy was going to die. And someone went back and saved him. Does this principle mean that the guy dies anyways because if time travel was predetermined and factored in in the past already, then he died as a result of the time travel trying to "help"? Or do you mean that he would be saved because the time travel was always meant to save him? God this is confusing. I guess any sort of time travel would always just make a completely new timeline, or at least one branched off of a previous timeline because thats the only real way to reconcile the fact that 2 different pasts exist or existed at one point. I guess time travel doesnt make sense to me because it always seems to imply that somewhere, at some point, there is an ever looping time period where the time was fucked with in the first place. Theres an indie horror game that explains this better than i can but im hesitant to name it because the fact that time travel is involved is a spoiler lmao
At 5:55, when Blendin is changing the images on his clothes, you can see three settings that will pop up later on in the series, the Northwest mansion (The Northwest Mansion Mystery), the town in red (Weirdmageddon), and the beach from Stan and his brother's hometown (The flashback episode that I forgot the name of)
@@somedudewatchintv5297 iirc she threatens to rip his arms off the next time she sees him or something similar. She says it to herself, cant remember if its in English or in Spanish
Fun Fact: In season 1 episode 8 Irrational Treasure, if you pause it when Dipper and Mable are first reading about Pacifica Northwests fraudulent great grandfather, you can read the document and it actually mentions the Time Baby.
Chris was wrong about the paradox. It isn't a paradox. It's a causal loop. Depending on your perception of time and which theory you believe in, causal loops can definitely happen without paradox's.
Rick and Morty was developed off of a web series created by Justin Roiland that was a parody of Back to the Future called Doc and Marty. I'm sure there's a bit more to it, but that's the main thing.
"Is this the first on screen death we've seen?" Excuse me, what about Big Henry, that ghost couple, probably someone else but I can't think of anything right now?
I hope that more of you will react to the episodes coming next, especially 10, 11, 12, 17 and the three parts finale. Season 2 is really more focused on the plot.
I just realised, with the new context that Dipper and Mabel's parents are divorcing, they could have just used the time wish instead of for example, wishing for summer to be longer or staying in Gravity Falls, leaving your sibling to face the harsh reality
Y'all fail time travel 101. Stable time loops are not paradoxes. Twenty-sneventy-twelve. Eggs come WAY before chickens. Young Robbie does/doesn't appear next episode. Time wish? Bill Cipher's powers.
If you assume that time travel is possible, then stable time loops are viable - they just have to be initiated from "outside" the loop to start it. In this case, Soos _originally_ learned the vending machine trick from someone _other_ than Mabel, then taught it to her in the present, whereupon she travels to the past and teaches it to him, so that he never requires the original teacher to show him the trick. Thus a time-travelling cause has _displaced_ an originating cause to form a causal loop that is now self-sustaining. It's just like building an arch, which requires a support structure to keep it from falling apart before its finished, but the support can be removed at the end, because the finished arch is self-supporting.

You should watch Over the Garden Wall before autumn ends! Such beautiful, unique short cartoon. There's composer's cut - no dialogue, just music. But that's for people who watched the original already... ALSO. I strongly suspect that Blendin is Soos's father. I think he dismissed the idea of spending time with the family like twice in the episode, both him and Soos are chubby and have similar skin color... It seems to be strongly suggested that this is the case here!
I wish for a magical and indestructible treasure chest that only I can open and that comes to me whenever I call for it and when I open it it always has whatever I consciously decide that I want inside of it. First things I would get: Elixir of immortality A potion that makes me no longer need to eat, drink, breathe, sleep,or use the restroom, and gives me the power to shape shift into any form I want, and grants me the power of teleportation and portal creation, and gives me the power to create and transmute any form of matter I want at will. Which I would then use to flood the market with every physical resource to make wealth meaningless and the only valuable resource left would be knowledge and art. And I transmute Mars' atmosphere to be safe for humans, then I would colonize Mars.
For sure, Dipper and Wendy could’ve ended up together if born close together since he thought she was awesome and she thought he was cute when she was younger. The age gap messes things up

The Time Wish is paradox free, that's why it's so powerful. So Blendin losing his mind over how pedestrian Dolph's wish is makes a lot of sense.
Soooo... what if you wished, “i want to create a paradox”?
@Elijah D Nothing would happen.
@zanforian nothing will happen, that you know of.
The confusion between a paradox and the butterfly effect is hilariously painful.
Time traveling does that a lot.
The problem is that you remember the alternate timeline with time-travel, butterfly effect could be happening right now, butterfly effect can only be truly tested with time travel and changing something really minor
It's not a paradox, because it doesn't contradict itself. It's a stable time loop.
