  • I'm showing how easy it it's to install a relay to make ur lights do wig wag affect like cop or security vehicles have. I researched for weeks an I doubt this to be the earliest an simplest way to .

    This actually helped me out a lot! I figured I'd need a relay but I've seen people use three or four relays. I wasn't sure what to get or to do. Thanks man!

    Hey great video! I'm trying to do this to the high beams on my 86 caddy hearse. Did you do your headlights yet? I'd love a video and part numbers for putting the diodes in. Did you do this yet? TY!

    Im involved in Volunteer Firefighting. Attempting to set up my own wig wag for my vehicle. Now this method is amazing and simply. Is this method able to be wired to a switch into the vehicle?

    Can you adjust the rate of flashes per minute?

    Hooking up some train crossing lights have the same relay but won't work I'm using a toy train transformer for the power hooked up same way relay just buzzes think it may have to much power

      The basic toy train power supply puts out a varying voltage. The to track outputs range from like 6 to 14 volts depending on where the knob is turned to. The to accessories output is a constant 14v supply. Your power supply should say what its voltage range is. Vehicle charging systems charge at 13 to 14v si ig gours puts out more on max it could fry the relays. Also make sure your relays are wired correctly

    @2:52 "Not too many people want to do it. I think its illegal but i'm not going to be doing it on the streets. Just playing around with my friends or whatever in designated areas and private property." Oh yea, I absolutely agree! NEVER use these unless you are on private property or designated areas. Private property and designated areas you could demo these would be, for example, a local court house parking lot. Maybe in a parking space in front of a police station during shift change. Maybe at the entrance of a particular motel during a large law enforcement convention. Or maybe pulling up behind a cop car when the officer is in the middle of a traffic stop, turn them on, then when the officer approaches you, ask him/her how they look. Those are just a few great examples of where you could use them.

    When I bought my CVPI my wigWags were already working and connected to a switch they recently stopped working the other day where would the relay be at so I can replace it ?

      Well I found the original wigwag box on my passenger side fender on the inside. About half way. Mine was disconnected. After I was gonna hook it up with the fuses in the video I found the real wigwag box and connected it and it works great. But yea mine was on passenger side front fender inside. Not sure if that's where yours will be. But check all fuses and other things before considering the box was gone bad. Just Google whatever info u can. Hope ur able to get it fixed and wigwagging again..

    hey mate what diodes did you use?

      I actually didn't end up hooking my wig wag lights up. I bought a retired cop car an it had a wig wag set up installed already so I just reattached it and it worked so I never hooked up diodes. but I did order a set of them. there small not sure what volts or amp they were but I did do research but it's been so long. I got the diodes from eBay fairly cheap. just Google what size diode for car head lights

    Would the be able to power headlights and taillights at the same time

    • @wonnie46403
      @wonnie46403  6 років тому

      Robert Johnson yea you could do both front and back lights on same relay. This is just a cheap way to do it. You can buy a wigwag module that is made for that type of flashing but this is just a cheaper effective way to do it. But you have to find the power wire to the rear lights and just hook it up to the each side

      The car I have was a old cop car so I did find a module for my car an I'm using it an it does work both front and back lights. I made this video to show another way to run wigwag lights but your right the best way is the module . this is a old video an I thought was good idea in that time Lol thx for your response
