- On the Confessions Tour, Isaac was opened by the man who lent his name to the song, singing the Im nin'alu intro and playing the shofar, a kind of horn. On the main stage a female dancer dressed in burka dances inside a cage. Madonna appears at the end of the catwalk, and sings and dances her way to the main stage. As Isaac sings his part, Madonna kneels down (to the joy of the fans close to the catwalk). She then approaches the cage and frees Sofia from the burka, who then runs happily onto the catwalk, free as the bird on the screen. Four male dancers join Madonna for a final group choreography.
Very nice song of Madonna , I don't know if you are familiar with the origin of this beautiful song. It is a famous Jewish Yemenite liturgical poem. It generally say: "If the doors of the generous people are locked, heaven's doors are always open , god listens to our prayer." it is only a part of the prayer which is much deeper. written by Shalom Shabazi in the 17th century

Isaac and Frozen are my all time favourite Madonna songs..
This performance on its own shares such a story. My favourite part has to be where Sophia takes off the cloak and holds on to it as though she will take that with her. But Madonna grabs it off her and throws it. The symbolism of the cloak being the past, something thats holding you back and not needed to take you forward.

I am in love with everything about this.
The first was that the cloak resembled an eagle's wing, but she took it off and looked like an eagle broken or stripped of its feathers. Secondly, this song is Yemeni, and its meaning does not match what is being portrayed. The meaning of the song is that the rich close their doors and the door of sky opens.

Don't ever assume who's going to where again.
It's about the gates of Zion, there's several gates and entrances as well as false ones and biblically irrelevant ones. Dung gate, Muslim quarters, Christian's gate etc...
Such a stunning performance with hidden messages: the cage (restrictions on women's rights), the burka (obligation, oppression, "cover and be modest"), the freedom from the "clothes" and the "cage".
Christi Ana most her fan base are gays like myself so when you say women ill take it as a compliment because I highly value feminine energy and how important it is to this world for it to grow and be nurtured, but sadly its often hated in men and we also get trapped in that cage.. the day we stop saying an issue is sex or race or religious we will see that the problems are human/emotionally made those are just concepts/distractions we use to point fingers at each other..
That is not a burka that she is wearing, her facing isn't covered for one thing. it's just a badass cape. also, not wearing a burka does not mean that a person is free, you can still live in a "cage" without wearing one.

Jer Ohm hard to forget this even 10 years later, so much work and soul into this. Truly a masterpiece, I remember putting this on my mp3 and dance in the night under the rain even if i didnt know what i was doing it felt so spirtual i had to move to it.
