In 1976 I bought a 1967 GMC 1-ton,flat bed, 3rd-hand, 70,000 miles, $1700. Changed the 292 for 283. Build my house, did contracting. Motorcycles. I'm 71 now. Still driving her some, firewood, dump, &c.
All the parts for the bed are available new from Goodmark. What happens when the right side of the tailgate is 5/16th” too thick! No warranty! Split the undamaged tail light bed corner, bend out to fit the top 8” then weld some filler metal, then scratch your head trying to figure how to sand in between two OEM overlapping panel that are two inches apart! 16hrs of work, great!
My very first vehicle was a 1968 Chevy C10. My brother had a '67. The thumbnail is what caught my eye. That cab is NOT a '67, in that year the truck had a smaller back window. It is a beautiful looking truck, and I would love to have my first truck back now.
I built a 67 like this way back in 81. Amazingly it was pretty much the same color. Mine had a 427 big block with a turbo 400. It wasn't as nice as this one but it was so fun to drive!!!
The truck was featured on a episode of Gearz. It is now owned by a rich guy that owns a trucking company. He drives the truck and uses it to take his grand kids for ice cream. It was nice to see Stacey show the truck. Thanks to Power Nation for posting this content as people have wanted it for a while now.
Stacy David is off his rocker and is not a truck guy he is a car decorator nothing more thats why he lost his show "TRUCKS" and it took him so long to get his other show gears. Have you seen the mazda he put together thats right put it together cause he didnt fab anything same for the put together kit car he did what a pos. copperhead was put together with all kinds of mistakes hell the 2 in exhaust was choking out the 572 which he never should have had the honor of the first one. He put a stock suspension on it spent more time fixing stuff he should have done before he had it painted. God the mullet dont get me started on the mullet
@@charlestorruella8591 that mullet rocks and he just has a better camera personality in my opinion. Off camera guys do all the work anyways and I'm sure he doesn't pick what topics/ builds to do the producers do.
I pulled drop in liners out that were a little faded. And bed was rusty underneath. Don't know how bed was when it was put in though. But mud and shit was built up under. I yank them out and do spray lining now
They sold a shitton of 'em ...lots of women bought them for Christmas presents for their husband, and husbands for their wives as far as that goes...things were different...we didn't live our lives on the innerwebs...we built cars, trucks, guns, and treehouses...it was fun...
1:00: there needs to be heat-shielding placed on the firewall behind the engine before its all mounted up otherwise the heat from the engine will just peal the paint. 18:22 those drop in plastic linders are absolutely shit! they get moisture between the bed and the liner and rust out the panels! a polyeurathane spray-on liner is best.

guy * face palm * go to a wind tunnel and find out like i did that the tail gate CLOSED creates a low pressure system that moves all on coming air OVER the bed of the truck reducing drag and resistance , now with that said when you lower like you did or full open the tail gate the whole of the low pressure zone is GONE and all on coming air over the cab will pitch down into the bed and focus MORE on the gate area causing down force and drag and turning your gas hand in the E position much much faster ! so with that said GATE UP = better gas mileage GATE DOWN = drag and reduced gas mileage but better rear end traction not for traction and drag and resistance the gate full open is OPTIMAL but, the angle you put it in " spoiler " will cause a counter affect shifting the low pressure zone to the back of the gate like a wing and cause lift and more drag in air resistance into the pitched oncoming air ! another example you ever notice trucks at a drag strip? ever notice the fastest truck has the gate closed and gets faster and a bit squarely? and ever notice the truck with the gate full open is slower and stays stable the whole time ? dont need to go to a wind tunnel like i did to find out the facts in fluid dynamics and yes air is a fluid gas :)

Most trucks do better aerodynamically with the tailgate closed. Starting with the GM square bodies, they were wind tunnel tested to do just that. Driving without the tailgate closed will spread the bedwalls apart at the rear. Ask me how I know... 🤔
