Today I received both the 50th square and tron. Both are very nice indeed. I think the 50th tron may be more interesting than the tron OG. Either way, epic release!
they are nice pieces and having both is a good move in my opinion. I've been calling them Captain Americas.
@@masterwatch yes … both are a nice addition to the collection. Captain America 🇺🇸!
Good sound advice, especially the part about amassing 5 credit cards 💳 to fuel your hobby. I also watch IDGuy which I think is worth checking out.
Electric cars are great... 😊 I drive a Tesla Model 3 Performance and my Wife drives a Skoda Enyaq VRS Coupe. With all your sunshine, Solar Panels would feed them indefinitely... perfect
Solar is a great option with a home made battery pack and cabling… it’s a good idea.
@masterwatch That's how we're set up at home. 2xTesla Powerwalls, Solar Array, three car chargers and Heat Pump Air Conditioning. Can be very cheap to run it all...
@@JustMeTalking that is very cool. I am a big fan of electric, electric cars, solar power and anything that is efficient and contributes to good and/ or economical living.
The first time hearing a 'You tuber' say not enough watches. I'm always hearing too much... and need to slim down... haha
You can never have too many G-Shocks I find 😂
@@masterwatchyou did well not answering!!! As well all know, gshocks don’t count as part of you watch collection!
@@welfareboy hehe.. questions questions... G-Shocks are always part of a collection.
1st and champion!!
Oh thank you.. I have no idea what I said I will have to have a listen myself.
MW you need another black square and new 2025 GOLD MRG!!!!! to even things out. As it stands the Captain America looks out there on its own!
you are correct I do need a MR-G Gold Square... or MR-G King !! I need these piece like a person needs oxygen.
@@masterwatch 😂🤣
@@johnrb9397 thank you 👍🏻
Forget about the watch, is that your house? Haha
It is the Master Watch Centre for Watches and all information and advice for all things connected to Watches... basically means the place for everything 🤓
I really don't think it's a Casio's point to make a lot of square MRG's....classic square is somehow a perfect measure. MRG King isn't bad idea, but...why not to make a MRG Baby G? That would also be a great idea. Baby G square isn't anything worse than any King. Actually my daughters have 2 of those, and I can say that I don't have anything like that, definitely.....very rare, very nice, I would take it in front of any King.
Ay yes a Baby G MRG would work.. the smaller size would work for people.. But I still want a MR-G King 🤴
I have a couple of nice full-metal square G-Shocks that you don't: 1) The GMW-B5000RD-4J in red, which Random Rob called the "wino" (very striking and unusual); 2) The GMW-B5000GD-4ER in rose gold (actually, it's more of a copper colour). I've also got the GMW-B5000TVB-1ER, AKA the Titanium Virtual Armour. It's easily the least ostentatious of all my full-metal G-Shock squares, and it's also feather-light. How did you make that video? You seemed to have both hands free, so I can only assume you've got some kind of weird harness for your camera. And don't forget the SPF50 cream! It looks really hot where you are, in the South of France: about 32 degrees. Way too hot for me.
The Wino RD-4 in red (dark red) I do like actually and I was going to get also with the GD-4 rose gold (copper) because I was thinking I could swap the bezel making a very cool watch... The only reason I did not is because I thought I am losing my mind with G-Shock 😂.. You are correct it is warm here (South France) but I tend to get up early when the temperature and light is so nice.
Hi, great style of watches! A Submariner or GMT is nothing special anymore, a Full-Metal Square or Speedmaster is 💪
hehe.. I agree with you !!
Would have thought you'd want the limited editions on Casio.
Casio is dangerous for the bank account and you can always guarantee they are going to release something that you want.
Archie looks so humble and polite in person.😊
in real life I thought he'd be like this.
Yes sell them, sell them all to me 😂
Can you imagine the trouble I would be in if I sold a full-metal G.. I would never hear the end of it.
We like walk and talk, drive and talk, show and tell all of it MW 😅
you guys don't want to hear the truth... The Truth will set your watch collecting free..
I know what you mean about the blue/gold bezel on the 'Sky & Sea' square being more "in your face" than on the Casiotron. Of course, the bezel on the Casiotron is at a 45-degree angle, so it looks thinner than it really is, and the blue appears a little darker too because of that. And obviously they couldn't really reduce the width of the bezel on the square model without it looking silly. I love both of them equally, especially the way the light plays on the gold fluting. Your MR G Froggy looks positively dainty compared with my GWG-B1000 Mudmaster, which is nearly the size of a hockey puck. You need to have one of these beasts adorning your wrist if you really want to kick sand in their faces at meetings. It definitely doesn't slide unobtrusively under the cuff, and it resembles a model of the Millennium Falcon, festooned with futuristic barnacles, as Russell the Mad Watch Collector commented. Finally, you don't seem to have a CasiOak in your collection (I have four in full-metal form and three in resin). Any particular reason?
regards the CasiOak I was going to go/ thinking about it/ the MRG-B2100 and I have looked at it many times... I just wish it had a stop watch, timer and alarm but maybe that is my error. Regards the big Mudmaster I keep looking at those also and thinking I wonder is Casio will do the MR-G treatment to those also... I like the Millennium Falcon analogy that is a good explanation.
hahaha I am one of those who ask because I like your reflections or points of view, as I have the normal silver square and the normal negative golden square. Enjoy your coffee
The gold Negative is very cool.
@@masterwatch I don't know what to tell you, I like the positive one as you do, when I look at it, it gives me a better feeling than the negative one.
@@Rob1966x overall I prefer the positive display but the negative lends itself to certain colour ways.
Besides coffee and fresh squeezed cream if you had to pick only one of the 50th anniversary watches , which would it be the square or the Casio Tron?
that is a good question.. I asked myself the same question and also another person asked the same.. If I had to chose only one, it would be the Square.. but only by 51% C-Tron being 49%
Your coffee intake is approaching mine - heaven knows what your blood pressure must be like. Like you, I collected only mechanical watches until comparatively recently. The Bulova Lunar Pilots tempted me into the dark side of high-precision quartz, and the release of the full-metal G-Shocks (in 2018, not 1918!) pulled me down into the Casio rabbit hole. Love those 70s Omegas!
Great minds think alike.. Precision Quartz is a dark hole for sure and I am not sure I can crawl out.
Sadge advice, saving is the way to go. I might add though if you reside in the U.S. i would and do put large purchases like this on a credit card and then pay the balance off at months end. This helps to build and bolster ones credit history. Which here is very important to cultivate.
That is correct and I think you get additional purchase protection buying on a credit card. Actually if you time it correctly you can achieve in effect 6 weeks of free credit this way also.
Only 17 cups of coffee... come on, you are letting the side down. You can do better ;)
the 18th seems a step too far so I might cut down to about 15 a nice cruising altitude.
Thank you for all your Casio videos. I am watching this while sizing the bracelet on my new Casiotron. I love how the blue and gold look in person. Hate that Casio can’t use screws in the bracelet.
oh be careful with the push pins. I follow the arrow to push out the pin, then replace the pin against the arrow.. I hope I have explained that the right way.. but this works fine and can be done with a fine spring bar tool. It is quite a neat process actually.
I think the black and blue frog is still one of the best, whilst the yellow is very special, it isn’t as versatile. Unfortunately, it is in fact sold out. I did try to plead my case to my AD, no dice. I did purchase the titanium bracelet though, and it is cool.
did you purchase the titanium frog bracelet with the gold lock button for the black & blue frog?
@@masterwatch I did! It’s very nice indeed.
@@douglaskrueger357 ah very good. I am in that direction also, just thinking if I can find the yellow frog new.
@@masterwatch I’ve tried myself to find one new and looks like you will need to pay a huge premium to get there. For me I don’t like to pay over retail.
@@douglaskrueger357 I once paid over retail for a G-Shock actually and I said to myself I would not do it again.
I think you should collect watches like a game of Chess. Each piece like in a strategy game. King - This is your High Horology one piece to be protected at all costs. Like A. Lange & Söhne, Patek, Vacheron, AP, Breguet Queen - This is for your Wife. One piece to move anywhere on any occasion. Like Cartier. Bishop - This is your Racing Chronograph, zipping around the game. Like Omega Speedmaster, Daytona, Zenith el primero Knight - This is your Pilot GMT, traversing time zones across the game. Like Rolex GMT Master 2, Grand Seiko, Tudor Rook - This is your Diver, deep into the game, straight up and down. Like Omega Planet Ocean, Submariner, Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Pawn - These are your daily warriors, a selection of micro brands or armoured G-Shocks. Ready for battle scars. 1 x King 1 x Queen 2 x Bishops 2 x Knights 2 x Rooks 8 x Pawns The Collection. 😊
oh yes, very good description... I like the King (for me MRG-King).. and you are so correct Cartier is the Queen.. very good analogy here.
I am in dire need of a F-91W MR-G !
Ah yes that would be cool.
Aha! MRG King Square is a good proposition. Its definitely a topic i can revisit sometime.
Oh that would be great. Have a nice week.
Excellent video. Your advice about not telling your wife about your new watch is spot on. I myself have fallen victim to this faux pas a couple of times with the same result. Now I no longer buy watches for myself. I buy watch "parts" or "spares" so when the "spare part" arrives with the courier, there is no explaining to do. Then if a new G- Shock is noticed on my wrist, it is a case of, "No no dear, remember those spare bits I was telling you about? Well this is the result" It is working so far. As long as you hide the watch that was supposed to be the recipient of the "modding parts" away for a bit, it's all good. Now I just have to hope the wife doesn't subscribe to your channel and start reading the comment section. I'll be done for. I enjoyed your little rant about strap widths, you are quite correct, who in their right mind designs a watch to take a 21 or 23mm strap? Absolute madness. Having said that, a Garmin Fenix in the X model range absolutely needs a 26mm strap.
ah... Spare Parts... of course a very good description and technically correct.. When I am asked what I am doing recording videos and say that I am having a FaceTime call... 🤓
That model is basically a Mudman's father, since it's mud resistant. It does look big because it's big, it's a monster, it's in the face since it's impossible to hide it under the cuff, it says ''I'm stronger than anything''... I'm calling it ''the elephant''.....with the Jays and Kays adapter and a strap is much more pleasant at the wrist. I got exactly the same watch that you was wearing (it's from Japan, not from you 😀). A quality of that thing is great, really another level, Good video
I remember the buttons being very good to operate and it was comfortable to wear. I really want an MR-G version.. Thank you for your comment.
Dear Casio G-Shock.. Please, PLEASE, make an MR-G King, on bracelet MRG-56B-1 or rubber strap MRG-56R-1 or a silver version MRG-56D-1
What I wish is that months will show in letters like Jan, Feb, Mar.. Good video by the way..!!
I am sure I will make more videos with this watch and perhaps a MR-G version...
I had the first generation of the King Gshock I bought more than 10yrs ago, I sold it to a coworker of mine I put that money towards a new watch.
I think these King's are a cool watch and I think we might see more of them.
Maestro Maestro! I have two advices for you, First, don't be intimidated by tax man😁 Second, don't be so intimidated by thin watches, they aren't that bad, infact they show sophistication. Now I'm not talking about 4mm Bulgari or Piaget watches, those are extreme and rediculous but a ~10mm mechanical all arounder is awesome especially on bracelet. I think you should give them a try.👍
oh you are right actually I should not be so judgmental and I was going to say that I do like the engineering achievement of thin watches.. I was probably a bit harsh.
I've had the GMWB5000SS for a few weeks now and am absolutely in love with it. The blue and gold just pop and go so well together. Now I'm trying to decide if I should grab the TRN50SS as well 🤔 thanks for the video and comparison!
If you like the B5000SS and you are thinking TRN50SS I would think you would like it but be sure you like the display size as it is a little smaller than the Square.
''life support material''...I like that material 😀😀😀 grey T-shirt, grey shorts and fake Birkenstoks.....that's how you roll when you're relaxed, that's it....more than enough. (I'm even worse, I'm using a 3 quid T-shirt and a pyjama bottom) That watch at your wrist wouldn't tell me you're in charge at the meeting, but it would tell me that you got a good taste for watches. I like my vintage (it's vintage by the year of production since it's almost 20 years old, but it's not so vintage by the tech, since it's a solar atomic watch) G shock G-056, a first thinnest man's G shock, I forgot, it's 11 mm thick I think, I really like it, that's a forgotten gem....I've heard that Casio had to redesign a whole structure only in order to make it maybe 1,5 mm thinner than usually. When I'm listening about the straps, it's a really weird situation that my ProTrek, Climber line, that's a smallest diameter ProTrek, is using a 24 mm strap, and to be honest, it suits really good. Good video
oh thank you for the info. 24mm on a G' is fine as they taper and do things correctly. 11mm is also fine as it is above the limit of 10mm 😂.. These days I can't have a meeting without a coffee 🤓
That has to have been the longest UA-cam video I’ve ever watched! I’m glad you arrived safely. As always, love the watch collection. 😊
oh gosh.. I do apologise for the length of the video I thought myself it was quite a long one... But thank you and I hope it was interesting. In tears to come I will hopefully look back think my goodness I did that 🤕
So... for thin watches... if you need your watch to slide under a shirt and jacket... you're not Boss enough. In the Boss world of horology, wear what you like and going to meetings in flip-flops or a jumper, is the flex. Nobody tells you what to do, or how late you are, because you're the Boss and their lives depend on your Signature. Boom. 😊😊😊
hehe.. you are reading my mind. The G-Shock on the wrist is a icing on the cake and just makes everyone feel comfortable as you look like you know what you are doing.. 😂
@@masterwatch Indeed, the precision of responsibility...
@@JustMeTalking that is a good comment actually.
@@masterwatch Think I'm going to have a G-Shock MRG day today... 😀 There's a lot to love about them.
@@JustMeTalking I keep thinking about an MRG-King, the MRG-56B-1 an Mr-G King that doesn't even exist yet...
So... for Wives... forget handbags & shoes. Buy her a car. Preferably one which is new, and involves 'tick boxes' in a showroom. For every tick box, you can kiss goodnight to another watch... but, hold firm. It'll buy you a 10 Year Pass at least. During these 10 years, just before 'New Watch Day'... make sure her car is washed and clean, and comment how nice it looks. Boom 😊😊😊
going the car route is professional level and it buys a lot of brownie points.. Umm, you make a good point and advise here.
@masterwatch The long game, abiding by these rules gets you into the High Horology pieces 😀
@@JustMeTalking and that my dear friend is the Master plan.
Hi Steven, have you ever had your hands on the rose-gold version of the square? I am thinking of getting one, however would like to see it in person to get a good feel for the colour. Cheers
I looked at the Rose Gold and the dark red model a number of times.. I like them but I decided I would probably chose another colour way. I do think the rose gold and dark red are collectable though.
France?
South France and the weather is perfect right now as it is hot (30 degrees) and hopefully will not get warmer 30s and even 40s that it can do.
@@masterwatch I remember when the cicadas were chirping in another video and suspected so. Beautiful
@@tpop3723 ah yes I don't mind any creature as long as they do not bite you.. unfortunately there are mosquitoes so you have to be careful.
Those cornflake G-Shock watches are truly boss watches. That's why I bought them both, silver and gold.👍
hehe.. aren't they the Boss Watch... hehe.. I have just remembered the MR-G pieces I haven't even spoken about those yet in a business meeting!
You are now my go-to guy for fashion advice. But t-shirt and flip-flops to a business meeting? I suppose the full-metal cornflake G-shock might distract attention away from them. I wish I knew women who are into watches. In my experience, 99.99% of them are as interested in watches as they are in cars. Finally, you should spare a thought for those 7-stone weaklings who also have twig-like wrists and can't support the weight of anything larger than a 35mm watch. Not everyone is blessed with 7-inch plus wrists like us.
Oh thank you.. And you have a very good understanding of the watch space and fashion 🤓.. Hehe thank you...
Maestro! I must confess that that thin gold stripe, the blue text along with the titanium golden bezel/pushers with that soft rubber band is a class at a different level...
MR-G is a class act but they are unfriendly to the bank account but you are getting over engineering and a lot of fun too. Thanks for your comment.
This little puppy has made me forget all about MR-Gs😆 Kid you not
@@donaleeesio hehe I know... the watch game is tough.. it is difficult collecting watches and people don't realise.
Did you know there is one thing that is more unfriendly to the bank account than watches? It's called "IRS"😂
@@donaleeesio 😂... oh yes... do not make the Tax Man unhappy it is just not worth it... In business I always say, advise, pay tax just pay tax, life it just better that way.
Amazing collection, appreciate your time going through each one! Thank you~
thank you for your comment. I try to add some humour and I hope to get better.
Incredible collection mate. Thank you so much for sharing
thank you again. I hope to get better and I try to remember the details. Thanks again.

ah thank you.. I hope to make some more French countryside videos. Madrid is a nice part of the world.
pls press light button from time to time :)
ah yes I will do.. 💡
So now you've started collecting Omega Speedmaster watches... you really need to include Seamaster options as well. No Ark can truly be prepared without mechanical divers watches... and the Seamaster 300 & 600 range have chronographs that can be used underwater to much greater depths. Perfect 👌
I actually agree with you.. Omega and Speedies does need attention.. I do like Omega and I find myself always looking at the Chronos.
@masterwatch My other Omega Speedmaster is the Moonphase version in Stainless Steel and 18k Sedna Gold on brown leather strap. 9904 movement. In my mind, I think of the original Speedmaster as the 'looking back' at the Moon landings. But with the Moonphase, every time the Moon comes around into view, it reminds me of the future, and all the current efforts to go back. Omega Speedmaster Moonphase is a lovely watch with 4 Hz Chronograph.
@@JustMeTalking I do like the Speedy Chronos and I like the larger cases with automatic. I would like one and I am looking at them. The other mechanic Chrono I am looking at is the IWC Pilot.. But the Omega Chronos do need close attention.
@masterwatch Yeah, I looked seriously at the IWC range. What put me off, and why I went with Omega is the Servicing Costs. What I really appreciated with Omega was the Co-Axial low wear features and extended service intervals. IWC was around 4-5 years and can be expensive Omega was around 5-8 years and can be less expensive But obviously, depends on watch use, wear & tear, owner preferences... my speedmaster will probably go 10 years or more. Less so if I start dunking my Seamaster... but there you go...
@@masterwatch I always thought of Omega as a more expensive mechanical G-Shock with a wide range of complications... don't know why 😀
Jump in with them on ; )
I have done with other watches but not these two Omega bad boys.. I think I baby them too much.
Did you get the hesalite or sapphire sandwich?
Good collection, it's hard not to give it a big Like You never thought about some shade for that table? 🏖⛱😀 I like your style, a little star towel under those watches is great. My collection of G's is similar, except I'm collecting rubber G shocks, there's no metal G's, and I like very rare or hard available G shocks....there's 5 or 6 G's without a single video at the You Tube. That golden positive G is really a chaos.....Richard Mille isn't crazy obviously because he says it's a cool watch, he knows that design is timeless, a lot more iconic than anything he'll ever make, it's not about the price, it's about design.....it isn't my cup of tea but that's true, it's cool, it's chaos. Maybe I like a black MRG more than silver one. A case of the original from 1983. was maybe a bit lighter colour....maybe a bit more brushed, I don't know, but it was good. The OG was something new, something indestructible at the time, even though it was by today's standards very basic thing.....but that ''basic thing'' had a different meaning 41 years ago. MRG is completely different but very similar at the same time, MRG is the top dog, definitely something different again. I like that rubber strap from that Frog. That grey Speedy is so nice......my GPW2000 olive green-orange Gravitymaster (in my opinion a most advanced analog watch that Casio ever made, a real masterpiece, just like that Omega, I think that Gravitymaster is the armored Omega 😀) have some trails of that dial, I really love it. That blue separate bezel piece at the Captain America could be the extreme headache if you damage it somehow, or scratch it. When I hear ''better, upgraded'' and ''LCD'' in a same sentence, it really sounds funny to me, since the LCD in a today's tech world is a steam machine 😀.....liquid crystal 😀😀😀. I would say that my DW5200C have just a little bit, a little part of the milimeter thicker numbers than a modern squares, I'm not sure....or a height of the number is a bit smaller and that's some visual effect. great video
oh thank you again. What you say I can relate to and agree. I do like the resin Squares with a solid case with screw back and I think this is a classic design and The Classic Square G-Shock... hehe... thank you again ⛱🌤
I wish Frogman had officially operable buttons under water. note: or rather not because then I would have to buy one of these VERY EXPENSIVE watches as I love pressing stopwatch underwater to measure my swims 😊
technically it is very difficult having button operation under water, though it can be done but involves some heavy engineering or a rubber membrane but then it makes the buttons large in size. The Frog is a cool dive watch.
@masterwatch The Omega Seamaster 300 Chronograph can be operated under water. I have this watch in Stainless Steel and 18k Sedna Gold on rubber strap. People thought I was mad buying a Diver Chronograph... but that's why 😊
Have a look at the Omega Seamaster 300 Chronograph... that can be operated under water 😊 ... it's the only 300m Diver Chronograph I own.
@@JustMeTalking perfect, an Omega Seamaster with a chronograph has been my dream watch since I saw Michael Phelps and Chad le Clos wearing it at Omega house in Rio 2016. I expect it became even more dream watch of mine knowing this😍👍
@@JustMeTalking oh that is seriously cool and the Sedna on rubber strap is very goo.
The only one your missing is the full carbon sqaure.
I know I know... the Carbon GCW-B5000 is on the radar but I was thinking positive display.. It is a super cool watch though.
