I love tutorials like this. Covering the basics of different techniques is always great for beginnersand for those of us who have forgottenthe basics!!
02/23/23 8:57pm I love the way you teach makeup for hooded eyes. I’m 66 years mature and watching your step by step tutorials has help me enjoy putting on makeup again. Thank you so much young lady.❤ God Bless you 🙏🏽
Loving this tutorial!! I'm not into product reviews so much anymore, my collection is absolutely out of hand 🤭🤭and I'm trying to focus on using some of it before it all expires!!
Ok, I will admit that I like to use a sponge tip applicator to make the "V", then go in with a blending brush. I've been doing it this way since the 80's! I remember using a shimmer light green eyeshadow in my "V" when I was in high school!!
Hi Zabrena! I'm a little old lady with very hooded eyes. I tried the "7 method" and I really like it. Thank you for showing how to do it. I also want to thank you for all your fun, positive videos. They always cheer me up! ♥
Omg thank you!! I have hooded eyes and struggle with this so badly, and it always gets patchy to. Yes I've always tried with the 2nd and that's when it gets patchy
If your eyes are VERY hooded, blending the outer v in general might be part of the problem. My eyes are hooded, and after i blend out my shadows the shapes always warp once i relax my eye, makes it look super strange. So i go back in with just the tips of the bristles on a short dense brush (mines a smudge brush actually lol) and lightly tap the ends of the bristles down in the hollow between my eyeball and socket bone. Brings back that v-shaped definition. I do the same with my whole crease ... silly foldy eyelids.
I think getting back to the basics and showing techniques in videos is awesome. I would love to see more of that! Not everyone in the beauty community is a pro.
If you do extend the ‘v’ down / out too far- you can always clean it up with concealer! I do my eyes first bc I almost always worry about that so I let my concealer help me clean it up ❤
Thank you this video. I always struggle with the outer V. Your demonstration of the three methods is really going to help me perfect this difficult eye technique.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’ve been struggling with this and your breaking this down into simple steps has absolutely elevated my “outer v” game. I always find so much value in your videos and sincerely appreciate all you do for us! ❤
Hey ❤. I just wanted to add some advice for hooded lid gals that you might want to consider adding to your videos (if you get a chance to read this 😊). Hooded eye ladies. Do not lift the skin. Don’t lift the hood. In fact you should relax your eyes and draw the line as if the hood isn’t there. IT’s best to use a thin line and pat the line instead of dragging brush. Think connecting dash lines. Then when you close your eyes you can continue the line to your lash line. This will make sure your wings don’t distort and make that swoop shape
OMG thank you so very much. I always look forward to your videos and this one is wonderful. I have hooded eyes and have always wondered how to find the outer v. Haven’t seen it broken down that way. Definitely going to try the no 7 technique. Thank you so very much again. Your amazing
Thank you for showing easy outer V demonstration. I always have a little trouble with mine because I have hooded eyes....this was a great video! Much love to you 💝
Not the greatest with eyeshadow. But I am the queen of throwing a transition shade on then a single shade on the lid, usually in the form of a Colour Pop Super Shock Shadow! Thank you for this!!!!! I need all the help I can get!
Thanks for the tutorial! My technique is similar to the second one you showed (the brush dipped directly in the eyeshadow and applied to the outer V) but I also use a piece of paper tissue applied in an angle in the outer corner that works as a guide/stencil for the shadow 😊
I usually put the colour on a brush and put it in my crease then blend with my eye open that way I’m within my crease and then once it’s diffused pull the colour upwards to a very light wing and across my lid too.
Thank you!!! I really needed some help... I always end up covering too much space!!! You make learning techniques so easy! Love, peace & joy to you & yours... today & always!
Thanks for the wonderful tips, and as u said u can add more colour but u can't subtract it. Unless you take it all off and start again. Basically if u learn a few tips and practise u have no problems. Occasionally I may but not often 😊. Thanks
Thank you so much!!! I'm so intimidated by eyeshadow but I bought my first natasha danona pallette today online and I'm trying to learn to do outter v work before it comes in the mail ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
We need more of these type of tutorials. This rocks…💜
i agree
Me too!!
Yes. Zabrena always has the most stunning eye looks.

This was so helpful! I've always struggled with a spot at the end of my eye that wouldn't take color for some reason when I used the second technique.
I've never seen the "7" technique before. That looks so easy! I'm definitely going to try that.
Thank you this video. I always struggle with the outer V. Your demonstration of the three methods is really going to help me perfect this difficult eye technique.
Nice and easy, beautiful techniques! Looks great on everyone's eyes... I do mine this way and get lots of compliments, even though I have hooded eyes!

That is great!!! Never heard it explained so easy!!!!😀
I have hooded eyes. Thank you so much for showing this tutorial this has helped me.
I’ve heard others say draw a 7 on that area of the eye. Seeing your demo today, I finally realized the 7 is backwards! Now it makes sense. Thanks!
Yes, thank you!!! This has been the bane of my existence with learning eyeshadow. So helpful :)
I can't wait to try the 7 technique!! Thanks, Zabrena!

Thank you!!! I still use the 7, but with hooded eyes I draw it when my eyes are relaxed. If I lift the skin, the 7 ends up looking crooked
