Thank you for joining us on this crazy journey! Our family- Kate and Marius plus our five kids, have always enjoyed living a homemade life whenever possible. Moving 1000 miles north in 2017 to Northern BC, Canada upped our game even more. We live on a 34 acre homestead and get a kick out of things like raising our own meat, dairy and vegetables. Theres plenty of failures, you’ll be sure to see those here too. We’re a homeschooling family who believes life is the best teacher but we do hit the books in winter. We have three small chest freezers, and we raise some of our food. I organize our freezers the same way. We have a poultry freezer, a beef and pork freezer, and a veggies/premade/fruit freezer.
Yes that sounds very familiar and a great way to do it!

Love this video! And love your style of freezer organization. Our old extra large upright freezer died in 2020, and could not be repaired or replaced due to shortages. We got 3 small chest freezers from the scratch and dent store and organize them the way you do. Gives us more space for less energy use than the old upright!

What great help you have..I remember seating in the basement with my parents rubbing off the sprouts from bags of potatoes. Apparently they last longer when you do. Thanks for the videos. It leads me down memory lane.

Just after watching you sort freezers, I had to do some storing and sorting, too. When will you start seeing spring thaw? I am starting cool weather plant seeds in the greenhouse and in April will start things like peppers and tomatoes in there. The remainder will be direct sown the end of April.
Not sure yet….. sometime in May but we can get frost into June 😬
My mom always said to store onions and potatoes apart because onions make the potatoes sprout.

The dewormers available. As far as breed goes it’s best to look at the maternal lactation history more than anything!!
