My friendly advice to anyone moving to Cyrodiil is that if you've got to travel, by the Nine Divines, stay on the roads! The wilderness just isn't safe anymore.
@@SirRealShow I mean, if you punch a cop in most countries, they just shoot you. From my experience as a Merican... Maybe Oblivion is like RL Switzerland or something.
"There are no bards in the Taverns" Well, that's my job sorted. Imagine all the songs I know from the real world that I can just pretend are mine. Sure they won't understand the lyrics, but it will be exotic and mysterious.
"Dunmer had them apple bottom jeans (jeans) Boots with the fur (with the fur) The whole club was looking at her She hit the floor (she hit the floor) Next thing you know Dunmer got low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low "
@@Angelikatosh I don't think the wolves worship the nine divines, but I don't intend to leave a city until I can beg or pay for a ride. The ultimate goal would be to join a monastery.
@@robloggia Yeah I mean that's... not really a bad gameplan? If you're always inside a city, then aside from disease and Oblivion Portals you could very well catch a lucky break as long as you talked to the right people and all. No-one's super likely to steal from or murder an aspiring monk, like... what value would that be to them? Now I don't personally know the way to any monasteries in Cyrodiil but if you can walk and can learn Latin as you go then you'd probably be alright navigating with signs or just asking directions
@@niesamowiterayson4594i dont think that latin is going to help him. He could join the moth priests in the imperial city, but he would go blind and or insane after a few years of reading elder scrolls. He also could just try to get work at one of the big temples of the nine in one of the cities. Reading books and learning old languages is basically his side questing 😅.
I love how the entire comments section would just be like a swarm of Bolwings descending on Cyrodiil. The best solution is to seek out the Hero of Kvatch and then be as kind and caring for them as possible so that they want to love and protect me. Just say some stuff about worshipping the ground they walk on and offer to shine their boots. I cannot think of a single flaw with this plan. Alternatively if I can learn the language I can use my foreknowledge of the events to turn into a prophet warning of the coming doom while living like a beggar. Ideally in a city with a nice climate like Anvil.
Surely, with our knowledge, we could go much farther than that. Maybe use it to gain political power and replace the Emperor. That sounds like a surefire way to guarantee your safety.
@@Spellweaver5 You could even join the Mythic Dawn and assassinate Martin right away to gain immortality in Paradise. Definitely no way that could go wrong.
I feel like Oblivion's Cyrodiil is one of the safest overworlds, at least following general in-game representations. I'm willing to bet some of us would stand a fair chance.
villagers, that are being harassed by goblin tribes, ogres, spriggans, stray daedra and necromancers from the near cave system on daily basis, reading this:
You're selling yourself short! Surely, that degree would come in handy when learning the local language and the HEMA/archery experience is a fantastic base for a successful guard career. Perhaps you could even become a trainer, if you have a knack for teaching - all you need is one visit from the Hero of Kavatch and you're set for life.
@@DarkVeghetta I actually just recently became a Latin tutor, so I'd say teaching suits me fine. Still, I have the nagging feeling that overconfidence would just lead to my quick and hilariously ironic demise. And some snarky asshole would probably write an ingame book about it that increases your unarmored skill.
I like to imagine I would live long enough to accidentally step foot on the Marie Elena down by the docks & the last thing I'd hear after being run through was "Oh hey sweet lady of wayrest, oh hey sweet lady of mine..." 💀
@@baldyhardnut260 The people of Tamriel have been studying magic for millennia. They would be able to do everything that science can do. But science would be an entirely new field of study. Others would ask, "But what will it be used for?" And just like in our world, the scientist would answer, with a shrug, "I don't know." People would become uninterested, and continue using and studying magic.
In Cyrodiil I would try to join the local clergy by any means. Being respected and privileged comparable to aristocracy, you don't do any menial physical labour, have access to lots of books. Also you are protected by the city guards and always have food and clothes for free. Perfect choice for modern city person without survival skills.
Funny you should say that, because I once considered becoming a priest for the same reason. Despite hating christianity with a limitless, burning fury. You basically get paid for being a useless to society ornamental figure. It's a cheat-code to an easy life if you can stand the humiliation of wearing the robes of traitors to and enemies of humanity.
Well I have grown up on a farm, generally cook my own meals and have practiced some swordplay. I'd say that's an okay baseline for a farmhand or for working at an Inn. However I think what Cyrodil really seems to need is someone who can do some health and safety inspections for those food storage solutions 💀💀💀
I'm a farmer and forrester by trade with hunting and fishing as a hobby so i think i would survie initially. If i could figure out communication with the natives maybe even thrive 😊 thank you for a great video
I imagine there's probably some assumptions you can make about Cyrodiil to separate the canon reality from the games. Food is probably cooked, theres probably a form of sanitation, even if its more like the roman Cloaca Maxima, there's probably state/mercenary funded transport to other cities for a fee, like caravan, carriage, or something, etc. Cyrodiil is also probably the size of a medium sized country. I'd say Germany is a good comparison. I think if i could communicate or find a translator (presumably a Breton) i would probably do decent as either a sailor or shopkeep. In real life i know basics of knot tying and canoeing is a hobby of mine so it'd be a small amount of experience with a steep learning curve... but it'd presumably be one of the safest places during the Oblivion Crisis. The biggest thing is where i end up. My goal would probably be to settle down near Lake Rumare or the Gold Coast (preferably Anvil or the Capital, but any of the surrounding towns could also work. I really dislike Leyawiin and Bravil is probably the least safe city in Cyrodiil so I'd probably want to stick away from the Niben bay, but thats a backup option
@UndisputedBillyBadass Yes exactly, even though they don't appear in Oblivion we can assume there's some sort of public transportation in Cyrodiil during the end of the 3rd Era. Wagons, caravans guarded by Mercenaries for hire, etc.
Plus we know from ESO and Skyrim that tea and the like is common. So you can make a ginseng tonic in Cyrodiil, to reduce alcohol intake if you want to.
One thing to consider in all these Scenarios, historical or fictional: Most people today are able to read and write, so as long as one could adapt to the given language, being able to write and copy books and other scripts would make you a mint, as these skills were very rare back then. It would also open up alot of paths of study, whether as an iniatiate in the Order of the Divines, or as a scholar at one of the Academies and Mage's Guilds.
The elder scrolls is not our world though, and nothing in the games states that the ability to read is rare. In fact in thousands of hour playing Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim and ESO, I don't remember any npc saying "I can't read/write". Diaries and signs are common as well. It's true we don't see much schools beside the ones for the mages, but we don't see children outside Skyrim so...
There's a couple books in oblivion where the author mentions not being able to read/write well. But I imagine like at least 75% of people know. With the people who don't just being the bottom rings of society.
Another tactic would just be to find your nearest magical college, find the arch mage, and tell him the truth of your origin. You might be a guinea pig for life, but youd be the closest thing to hermeaus mora they could have in their pocket. Imagine being a sentient, mortal elder scroll. Thats what you'd essentially be.
1. Language: as long as I learn a few mudcrab related phrases in Cyrodiilic, I'd be fine. 2. Work: spear maker, it's easy enough to make a spear and attach a dagger to the end. It would blow the minds of everyone. Alternatively, I could be a bard! I'm terrible at singing, but by your own admission, the standards are REALLY low in Tamriel. 3. Food: sweet rolls. There, all set.
In real life, I’ve dabbled in blacksmithing, and I’m fond of sewing and knitting as well as cooking and baking, and I’ve brewed my own mead. I think this means I could be okay as an apprentice blacksmith, brewer, tailor or maybe even baker or chef.
1) I'm Italian = I could manage the language. Not easy but possible after some time. 2) Trades: If you manage the language barrier and can gain people trust, most people would find employment in big cities as many peasant jobs are fairly simple. I personally can cook (I worked in kitchens for years), I can clean and do gardening (same), I can sew, I have a lot of general technical knowledge (I'm an engineer). I also practice HEMA so I have combat training and can decide to join the army or some fighting faction (It may not be the best idea... I can be a trainer though). 3) Food poisoning and alcohol would be a real concern. 4) It's baffling that a Roman inspired society doesn't have common bath houses. Even though they're not in the game I assume they would have them. 5) Over 24 hours of trying to survive, you'll probably have no time to be bored. PS The lack of chicken is actually accurate in a medieval setting (don't know if it's a coincidence or if the developer knew) but chicken wasn't commonly consumed at the time.
Just because I'm not the hero of kvatch doesn't mean I can't use my knowledge of the empire and locations/ways to earn coin etc. Step 1: find the nearest mages guild and attempt to say "I don't speak the language" in as many languages as I can until one of the mages understands me or guesses what I mean and finds a spell to help Step 2: hope that I can beat the hero of kvatch to the anvil house, if not slowly gather resources until I can afford a house by completing fetch quests or farming ingredients for potions to sell etc. Step 3: use my home as a base while I train myself in combat, and magic assuming could learn it once I was in cyrodil, and earning/stealing/finding better gear Step 4: play oblivion but ignore the main quest for a couple decades Step 5: go see my boy count hassildor and talk him into making me immortal Step 6: move over alduin, ES5 is now about a thousand year old vampire necromancer using his undead army to conquer the empire, the thalmor, the tribunal, and everything in between
Going into this with a certain page of the uesp memorized: "It's a secret syllable that will help us later" But assuming I can't use metagame lore knowledge to achieve CHIM, I have a very rudimentary understanding of Latin, not enough to get by in a conversation, but my oddity might be enough to entertain a Mages' Guild member long enough for me to learn it, and then my hope would be to join the Mages' Guild or some temple.
Best case scenario you end up as a topic of study for the Mages Guild. You are after all from a completely different plane of the Aurbis beyond both Oblivion and Ætherius
Oh yea, wouldn't we achieve CHIM by default and either disappear or become a god? For me, I would become a god because my existence didn't originate there, so of course I would reject the idea that I am not real and part of the dream. My ego is not from the dream and therefore if I am in Tamriel, I must be dreaming. I literally need to be the person who is asleep in my bed having the dream. Therefore I am the Dreamer, therefore I cannot zero-sum. I would CHIM. Because I literally MUST be the Dreamer. There is no other explanation.
Same tho being Scottish Bruma is better suited for my cold Climate Nature. Not sure i would survive a day in the warm grasslands of Anvil, chaydinhal maybe.
I find your logic commendable, but I'd like to try and break it! Survive 24 hours sounds easy enough. Go to the nearest town, clean the streets up (loot junk from barrels and boxes), sell to a general goods shop, go to the inn, eat vegetables, sleep, and win. If it's a month, hear me out: magic doesn't exist irl, but it does in the game. Vampirism, while terrible in game I agree, always gives the user 4 spells: night vision, invisibility, charm, and fear. Get Vampirism, become level 1 vampire, acquire magic, and BREAK THE WORLD OPEN! Once you learn how to go invisible, you can feed on hotel/inn guests almost risk-free. You can befriend people by charming them, reducing the risk being in cities and towns. The bonus to strength will let you become a formidable opponent at night, letting you kill and loot bandits and highwaymen. Using the money from those sales and feeding recently, one could go to a mage college and further research more magic, even procure the cure to vampirism. And once grasping the knowledge of magic, it's possible that once cured, you could still do magic once cured. (I'm thinking magic is a "flip a switch, you can now do it congrats" thing, since star signs work the same way. You are and atranoch, flip, absorb magic. You are a serpent, flip, you can paralyze on touch) Or just get 3 quills, place them in the air, sit on them, and wow, passer bys. Much less interesting but hey a septim is a septim
This reminds me a bit of 'Living in Oblivion', where the unassuming character of Nondrick aims to just earn a living and be a perfectly ordinary guy in Cyrodiil with no adventurous distractions. He had mixed results.
Being Scandinavian i think i might be able to learn nordic language. So i would head north, towrds Bruma. From there i would try to cross the border in to Skyrim. I think i would be saafe there.
Even tho it similar to how Latin works it not latin, tho maybe Nords would still be Speaking Nordic since People in Skyrim may not be speaking Tamrielic but rather the Old land tongue. me i know Enough Dunmeri to ask for directions.
@@CommanderM117 I suspect that there would be tonnes of different regional languages and local dialects, with cyrodiilic being the "lingua franca" of Tamriel. As a fellow Scandinavian, I might be able to learn or even understand Nordic quite quickly. It really depends on how different it is from our worlds Nordic languages. Norwegians, Swedes and Danes can usually understand eachother despite technically speaking different languages because they're so similair. Old Norse is actually harder for us to understand than eachothers. Unless you're from Iceland. Icelandic is probably the closest living language to Old Norse.
I had that same thought, my brother in Oden. Until I remembered that Bruma is besieged by Mehrunes Dagon at some point during the Crisis. I'd rather not face that mess before I'm ready for at least surviving it. Though, since one of my go-to plans was to join up with the Legion, I might be be toast. I doubt I'd survive on the run as a deserter, after all.
Given that I'm a lore nerd, I think, once I learn Tamrielic, I could potentially be useful as some sort of historian or librarian. Of course, people would need to take me seriously, and I'm not sure how I'd ensure that.
Id be a farm hand. Working for shelter and food. Never adventuring beyond the city after night. Ever. Maybe find myself a good solid diety to worship. One that is popularly shared by the majority. Id attend service and build a social network. As soon as possible id try to get out of manual labor and work a job that gives me more free time for personal development. Or attempt an apprenticeship. You wont find me in any Aylied ruins.
same will start of with farm works since i can grow stuff, and know some Dunmeri so living in Chaydinhal would be Fine. do the same then maybe get work as a scribe.
I’m an ancient cultures student with a good knowledge of elder scrolls lore, 3 years of university level Latin under my belt, decent competency at historical swordsmanship, own a few starting pieces of armour and an amateur at illuminated calligraphy. I think I could thrive there
At 4:34, that innkeeper's name is Dervera Romalen. She charges 10 gold per room and has a permanent resident, Guilbert Jemane. Maybe she charges tourists a fee, and locals are 1 gold a day. making her yearly 365 minimum(if not the full 3,650). She carries 22 gold on her person should she die, I doubt someone who makes 5 a year would be carrying 4 years wages when pickpockets and bandits are so common. Her business also has 50 gold bartering balance, and she charges 4 gold per Cheap wine. Safe to say she's a bold-faced liar!!!
As a Mexican, im posting up in the Imperial city making Mud crab tacos for those wanting something different from the tasteless Nord Cuisine. I highly recommend my Nirnroot Salsa.
I'm from Italy, will my Latin genes bless me with the gift of communication? Hope so, I would love to work as a translator specialised in Elder Scrolls (and some fine Argonian fanfictions, wink wink). Loved the idea! Your content is always so original! P.S I would DIE for a Skyrim-the-horse appereance 😍
As a geologist, at first I thought I'd do survey work for companies to help establish mines/ wells. It's the closest job to an actual adventurer, after all. Live out the fantasy. However, considering how dangerous Cyrodiil is, I'd be dead in a week So at most, I would stick to the cities and help with hazard assessment for buildings, bridges, etc. Or as a consultant for similar projects. The Imperial City and Kvatch are going to need some rebuilding after the Crisis, too. So demand will be there
I have 20/80 vision in one eye and 20/200 vision in the other eye. While I can certainly manage without my glasses (I lose them constantly) I would die immediately in Cyrodill. May her majesty Saint Alessia bless you.
Joining some kind of religious order seems like a good plan, except that sometimes the gods are a lot more involved than in our world, and monasteries seem to be a popular destination for Bandits and worse things.
@@isthisoneunavailable I dont drink but im very good at not taking stuff seriously! But for realsies, its just a matter of how much time i have in my hands
@@ChicDead26 If you haven't played Skyrim, I'd start there. It's a little bit more modern in controls and gameplay, plus it's had official graphical upgrades. Twohanded weapons and dual wielding are janky, but sword & shield, archery, and magic feel pretty good. Skyrim isn't as massive and deep as the previous two, but the combat controls are night and day better plus the perk system is pretty cool. Smaller size may sound bad, but it's still far too much content for a single playthrough. UI for mouse and keyboard is absolute garbage compared to Morrowind and Oblivion, but it's a small price to pay for overall smoother gameplay.
This video has convinced me to study latin and practice my singing voice so I'm prepared just in case I ever wake up needing to make a living as a bard in Cyrodiil
As a working-class boyo who regularly works out and has at least some martial arts training and has changed a lot of different working-class jobs from iron melting, farms, stores, bakery, woodworking, construction, road making, vineyards to bartending I actually qualify for a lot of listed jobs lol Im good :D
@@DarthWall275 depends on the market mate. In my experience, usually for all those jobs they are just happy to hire anyone lol If you have arms and legs you qualify.
In addition to my education related to metallurgy, which opens up certain prospects for me in blacksmithing, I have experience in long hikes and sports archery. So if I don’t become something like a blacksmith or a hunter, then I may well become a robber who will rob you.
I think theres def a chance. One thing abt Elder Scrolls that I like is that the setting tends to be hospitable in a lot of ways, I can def see myself starting at the bottom with sucky jobs but then saving my pennies to get training from the Fighter's Guild or learn a bit of magic. If you read between the lines theres always gonna be a demand for grunt work, Im sure people need wood chopped and that kinda deal, working in a vineyard for a while wouldnt be a bad deal. Im sure this is a common thing in Cyrodiil, theres no shortage of adventurers either and they have to come from somewhere. Maybe that could be an ultimate goal for me to aim for, get good enough after several years to strike out and raid an old tomb with some buddies, make a big score. Ofc getting out alive would be tough 😅
With knowledge of the lore like I've got, I'd be a historian! Id probably give adventurers quests to go fetch things in dangerous ruins to further my studies
@CommanderM117 I know some dovahzul, I can figure out the local languages starting from Skyrim 👌 If the ancient Nords spoke the dragon tongue, then it's not a leap to assume that Atmoran is derived from it to some extent, just like Spanish is a Latin-root language.
I dont know about anyone else, but I'd visit the local priory, get a habit from a monk and some basic education on faith and language, spend time creating a kind legacy for myself, then once I've created a foundation of connections through the temples across cyrodil, I'd inquire with my brothers and sisters of the habit, and be hauling ass to the nearest mages guild. Im in tamriel. I've gotta find their library. I've got some work to do. Nobody expects a monk who can incinerate you.
Maybe in Anvil for some hours. Would work as a guard. Had HEMA classes for some years so i can use a sword far better than most normal people. My Bow skills are also not bad with a 30 - 50 lbs bow.
i would loot all of the stuff from the barrels and boxes in the city. Taking that stuff is not considered stealing so it's free game. I would then follow a guard to the next town and repeat until i have enough to survive. Now that i think about it tho, i'm not entirely sure how much free stuff you can get from containers, will have to take a look and see how much gold i could get in that scenario lmao.
that if their Using Game Logic if not keep and eye out before you loot Barrels if a guard sees you doing it a bunch they might arrest you for it. since it either Property of the Count/Countess or still Property.
Why did I just discover your channel? Your content is litteraly the type of stuff I always seeked to find and watch😭,and now your content found me! Most youtubers are men and usually do informative stuff about oblivion (which is also great) + majority of the content is the same. You create really creative and cool content. Perfect for people who love this game. Speaking from the perspective of a now 17 year old girl, who started playing oblivion at the age of 4/5 due to her grandpa, who loved video games and computers back in the days, and introduced this game to her. Till this day this game influences me, I‘ve been playing it each year for 2 weeks. I really enjoy listening to the oblivion backround music. I just love the vibe cause it‘s SO nostalgic and it kinda distracts me from the daily stuff.
I'll sit behind university walls until I die of old age) And maybe I'll try to learn portals and I will travel from Mages Guilds buildings and deliver things)
The funny thing about the whole “you wouldn’t survive 24 hours in the Middle Ages” thing is that they usually forget that hospitality was considered a near mandatory provision throughout much of that time. A traveler could almost always find a place to sleep and a bite to eat for at least one night. You might have to do some work or something depending on the season and time of day you arrive, but this was a common custom. You could survive 24 hours. Now a few days might be another story. That would really stink if you were around for harvesting season. That was hard work.
Yeah, especially if you find a church. Hallowed ground means you're relatively safe for a fair while, and there's a high chance of social rejects there so you won't be too badly discriminated against as long as you pull your weight. Hard work is mostly okay if you get fed well enough; but then again, our idea of hard work is fairly relaxing compared to average medieval workday and we eat like kings compared to simple folk. I suppose it depends on time and location. But yeah, 24 hours should be manageable barring unfortunate circumstances.
I am blacksmith and hobbyist leatherworker, bookbinder, and beer brewer, so of course I could survive living in Cyrod- *[You have died due to a goblin raid]* Oh. Yeah... When was my last save?
My irl lifestyle resembles a blend of Reachfolk and Bosmer traditions, rooted in hunting while preserving nature by minimizing plant damage and consuming primarily meat, including raw and blood dishes, along with occasional fruits during spring and summer. I make an exception for potatoes since the plant is nearly spent upon harvest. My expertise lies in tracking and hunting, though I possess versatile skills that extend to alchemy, jewelry crafting, cooking, and even guarding duties may work. Additionally, my experience with taming wild horses aligns seamlessly with stable work. Unlike the conventional "breaking" i saw once on Europeans and 'muricans approach, I adhere to a more gentle method rooted in Patagonian tradition, where we befriend and nurture horses until they willingly accept riders, just get a wild horse, play with it, feed it and pet it until the horse likes u.
Angelikatosh making her living in Cyrodiil baking sweetrolls. Salmo the Baker in Chapel District in Skingrad would be rough competition though, so hope you don't spawn there. I hear there's a demand for Sweetrolls in the Shivering Isles...
You could probably get by just selling plants and mushrooms. Ham, beef, and cheese wheels are surprisingly cheap. Alcohol is cheap too. I guess the real skill check would be your real life athletics level. As long as you can outrun the hostiles, you might be fine.
As someone proficient in martial arts, archery and my smaller stature abling me to be rather sneaky if needed added with many hours of packpacking/camping experience id be confident i would do just fine. I love this concept of content. Keep up the good work! 😁
I’m a musician, so I could be the local bard/tavern wench. Not much I can do when a daedra burns down the inn, if only vicious mockery from dnd existed in the elder scrolls smh.
if their Hero still a thing like she said then the towns are safe, only a Village gets destroyed if i recall town Bravil way and kavatch. we can only hope the Hero save Nirn from the Obilvion crisis Talos guide us and that skooma hoping Hero.
@@Angelikatosh pretty sure there's a joke in here about how you could say he's the "reason i/you got this far" (it works both ways). You know, cause you travel on horseback. Yeah there's a reason I didn't actually make the joke, and just acknowledged it. And I am somewhat sorry.
As an ex soldier I am quite comfortable with fighting and the more nastier aspects of it. I have indeed studied Latin though I am only passable at speaking it. I am okay with sword. But I have absolute confidence in my ability with a Bow. I also own three suits of plate armour and various combinations of mail and the like. So I know how to move in the stuff. I have an extremely strong stomach so food poisoning isn't too much a concern for me. I have hunted my whole life so taking on wildlife doesn't phase me. The Daedric dudes kinda do. As I don't have the slightest clue how tough they actually are. The no showers thing kinda sucks though. I like lava hot showers at the end of the day. And ice cold ones in the morning. An 8/10 is what I would rate my chances. Assuming I get employment with the Guards or Legion.
I would not survive in a fight book worm, but at least Know some Dunmeri not just the curse words, as for Deadra their Armoured warrior if dealing with Humanoid the beast kind like fighting bears or Bigs, Plus they do not Die any time you kill one their soul gets send to Obilvion and they just walk out of Lava Pissed they got Killed. if you not seen the Elder scroll online trailer watch it must see, the Deadra warriors when they see the massive archway/bridge about to land on them just raise their sword to their face in a cool pose since they know it not the end. I would probably go to bruma work as a scribe then make my way to Skyrim.
@@CommanderM117 Technically speaking the Hero of Kvatch isn't anything too special. And even if they are so what ? They're the ones doing all the fighting fantastical demon things. And while Daedric beings can't die it's possible to keep them from entering enmass into the mortal world so it's not all that bad. Besides in this scenario I am not the protagonist. I am at worse some Random Guard or a soldier of the Legion. I have no qualms about killing bandits , bears , goblins , etc. Silver weapons are standard issue among the Legion and Guards so even Ghosts aren't a problem. So all I gotta do is keep my head down and follow orders. I did that for years. Ain't no reason I can't do it again.
@@clothar23 true tho with Obilvion crisis the Deadra get in easier so more deadra then Normal, the safe guard they had is basicly gone, and if i recall 3 settlement are hit by deadra hard Kavatch Imperial city and a place south of Bravil not marked on the map. you be fine with your training and maybe manage to kill a deadra warrior.
same love to See a Morrowind and Skyrim one. Black marsh would be next to Impossible to live Unless you got Turned into an Argonian place just filled with diseases, Plus Naga Argonians would be scary as hell to Run into.
This video is awesome haha As somebody that hasn't played Oblivion, it's a way to kind of worm my way into the world a little and see if I enjoy it before playing.
If you're a vet or in decent shape you could always join the legion too. It would be a good way to get some training in combat using medieval weapons. Afterwards you might just turn to adventuring yet.
Simple. Make fortify intelligence potion. Drink. Make better fortify intelligence potion. Drink. Rinse and repeat until I become the smartest person on Tamriel, then find a way to invest in Cyrodiilcoin and watch my septims go to Mundus.
I've made candles as a hobby, I could be a candle maker, as you see there are candles everywhere so I reckon I would have steady business. But I've always wanted to explore a real ruin, so one day I would brave it and check out an ayleid ruin. Of course I would learn a restoration spell first and buy other supplies with my candlemake money. I would have that "candle cake" : )
Oblivions vampires in the lore, is rumored to rule Cyrodill from the shadows :D In some big or small scales anyway, as they can appear as anyone else. IF they eating ofc hehe
I think there are a few questions you maybe didnt consider 1) how do we interact with the nine divines/how do they interact with us? They are a very real presence in Nirn afterall, and would no doubt take notice of an inteloper such as ourselves. Also keep in mind that all diseases are cured by simply praying at a shrine. Also what would the blessings recieved at those shrines do to us? Would we even get them? 2) do we have mana? Is it something that we could learn to use or are we incapable of interacting with it? What does a healing spell do to us? Would it speed up our metabolism and make us hungry and tired afterward? If we do have mana what does it feel like to run out? 3) while Tamrielic might be the common spoken language, many races have their own and have clear accents, meaning that they still speak their own language. Whaf do these other languages sound like? Are the Bretons british? Do they speak english or old english? Or are the bretons french? Is there a language that would be like english? 4) how big is tamriel? Is it the size as represented in the game? Or is it as big as it should be in lore? 5) whats the time scale difference? In game a day is like maybe 2 hours, would we experience days at that length or would they be real world 24 hour days? 6) a lot of wildlife in game don't really act like real wild life. Would a wolf cower away from a torch like it would in real life? Or would it ignore it like it does in the game? 7) does damage work like it does in game or in real life? If I cleave through a bandit with a sword does he just go "ah!" And lose some health or do his guts spill out?
Speaking of dangers, there was a quest with goblins where you could choose to retrieve a stolen (helmet? staff?) from the other tribe to end a conflict and the villagers nearby from being worried about it, but there was a third option where you could just go in and kill the two tribes, I did the third because honestly I couldn't be bothered and it was more fun haha. I couldn't see that quest being made today. Subbed! (Saw you from Asmon)
So, did you last 24 hours?
No i died to a juvenile skeever in the first 10 minutes
Mudcrab got me as I was exiting the sewers. :(
I would die because I'm a vampire and the game starts during the day iirc.

In Daggerfall there is ships and wagons you can buy and in Skyrim you have that guy in the wagon that will take you places
@UndisputedBillyBadass Yes exactly, even though they don't appear in Oblivion we can assume there's some sort of public transportation in Cyrodiil during the end of the 3rd Era. Wagons, caravans guarded by Mercenaries for hire, etc.
It's a sad day when there's a Leyawiin hater in the comment section.

It would also open up alot of paths of study, whether as an iniatiate in the Order of the Divines, or as a scholar at one of the Academies and Mage's Guilds.
that why after doing farm work i would get to learning the Latin from Dunmeri then do scribe work.
A tutor in this life, a tutor or scribe in Cyrodiil would be a little underwhelming, but yeah, might be the easiest fit.
A high risk, high reward gamble, for sure.
Angelika, you are crushing it! Your comedic timing and placement is getting more fun every video!
Also you are a furry so on spawn in cyrodil you will be a khajit

You are a serpent, flip, you can paralyze on touch)
Or just get 3 quills, place them in the air, sit on them, and wow, passer bys. Much less interesting but hey a septim is a septim

I am blacksmith and hobbyist leatherworker, bookbinder, and beer brewer, so of course I could survive living in Cyrod-
*[You have died due to a goblin raid]*
Oh. Yeah... When was my last save?
I've fought mudcrabs tougher than you!
@@AurmazlZudeh man, could you imagine how much clamping force a dog sized crab would have?
@DH-xw6jp imagine how much juicy crab meat you'd get, could eat for a week
@@AurmazlZudeh okay, you've convinced me.
Hand me my battle axe and warm up the butter.
I loved this video! Pls make more of em, maybe one in Morrowind, i feel like that would be wild
"I have a horse named skyrim" - yeah, I'm subscribing
I’ll make sure to tell him that he was the reason you subbed
Glad I do blacksmithing as a hobby!
Maybe if I knew how to make guns and bullets with my bare hands get from ores underground to guns
My man here is a Dwemer engineer
Well, do you?
Theoretical knowledge only helps if you can explain it well enough for someone else to put it into practice.
Imagine just waltzing to work and you spot an Oblivion Gate open up 💀
You should do this for each province and time period!
same love to See a Morrowind and Skyrim one.
Black marsh would be next to Impossible to live Unless you got Turned into an Argonian place just filled with diseases, Plus Naga Argonians would be scary as hell to Run into.
This video is awesome haha
As somebody that hasn't played Oblivion, it's a way to kind of worm my way into the world a little and see if I enjoy it before playing.
easy, i find the tilde key, open the console and type tgm
I definitely think cyrodill would be easier to survive in than Morrowind.
I think this could be a great format for Skyrim and Morrorwind as well!
Anyway great Video!
Very thought provoking concept!
Oblivions vampires in the lore, is rumored to rule Cyrodill from the shadows :D In some big or small scales anyway, as they can appear as anyone else. IF they eating ofc hehe
Me: Please not Kvatch, Please not Kvatch...
- Game spawns me in Kvatch
Me: Ah for the love of Akatosh
I am a historian and wine merchant/ sommelier so I could probably find work in Skingrad as a wine server for one of the vineyards.
I wouldn't survive, so i'd just move into the nearest inn and drink cider forevermore
I think there are a few questions you maybe didnt consider
1) how do we interact with the nine divines/how do they interact with us?
Since I’ve always lived with horses, and even made a living taking care of people’s horses, I think I’d do quite well as a stable hand!
