Thanks Mari! I routed things a bit differently but this is still very helpful.

that was amazing !!!
Thanks so much, brilliantly and expertly explained.
You freaking rock this is very helpful
Awesome! Thanks!!! You're the best! ❤🔥
What a great explanation! I believe some other artist try not to explain everything in order to get them 'aboard' (which is ok) but this is very helpful, very generous! Thanks!
Amazing!! because of your video i buy the focusrite and now i am working on it with the click. You are the best!!! thank you so so much!!
Very very verrry helpful! Thank you so much!
Brilliant, simple solution. Thank you very much.
Thanks so much! Super necessary and your live setup looks a lot like mine, so it was really helpful. 👍
Very useful indeed! Thanks!

Thanks for the tutorial! Subscribed. :)
You are life saver!!!!! Bless you.
thank you so much for the helpful video🌈
Great tutorial!
Thanks so much. GREAT. Tutorial ❤️
Thanks for the lesson! I subscribed. Too bad there is no way to route the click to only the headphone jack on the Scarlett. I have a Scarlett Solo which has L/R (1/2) outputs on the back only (same as 2i2), and one headphone jack on the front. So have to upgrade to 4i4 or larger to get more outputs on back. But since the headphone jack is an out, it's just too bad you can't route the click to go only there. Oh well.
thank you so much !
This rules. Thank you!
Veeeery helpful! Cheers!
Thankyou so much!!
Omg!! Thanks for this...✅
Thank you!
I managed to get the same results with a scarlett 2i2 interface plus Asio4All and by using my laptop stereo headphone output as the second stereo output (3 & 4). Your video helped me to get there. So, thank you! 😊
Hi! Could you explain how? Pls
Thank You!!!
This was super helpful.
yay!! glad you found it useful
I also have a focusrite 6i6 and after 3 videos trying and failing I found this one and I have to say it was amazingly helpful! Thanks so much for sharing Mari!
Thanks!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank youuuuuuuuuuuu!!!
thank you so much
You probably get this a great deal, but...i love you. Thanks so much for helping me fix my issue! To the Twitch I go!
You're The BEST!
thanks a whole lot!!!
Thank you!!!
thanksss so much!
that "3, 4" 4:52 was the most ellie (from last of us) vibe if ever experienced :o thanks for that!
just seeing this now and it made me laugh!
@@marigo5714 hahaha glad it did 😄
LEGEND
Thank you
Awsome
Thank you so much for this video! Do you know if the Scarlett 4i4 is managed to do the same? I’ve been looking into regarding this but haven’t been able to do so, and I am pretty new with these things :(
Does anyone know if it's possible to do this second option with a MOTU M4? The ability to change the output routing without creating the return tracks within Ableton?
good!
How can i thank you so much to explain it. Merci Merci thousend times
I think i love u , thank you soooooooooooo much
Thank u
I ended up getting a Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 to replace my Solo. In the Focusrite Control app, when I added playback 3/4 to the 3/4 line outputs, it also added it to the 1/2 outputs -- I could not seem to add it to just one. What I had to do is have 1/2 and 3/4 playback going to both 1/2 and 3/4 outputs, but then selecting the appropriate mute button on each (mute 3/4 playback for 1/2 output, mute 1/2 playback for 3/4 output). Not sure if there was another way or not but it seems fine -- perhaps that is how you are supposed to do it.
Thank you for the video, it's very informative, but I might need your help! :)
I watched it to hear the metronome separately. I tried with both Focusrite Control and Return Track, but I couldn't solve it with either.
When I added the return tracks and did all "audio to sends only' for all tracks and "master cue out to 3/4(same headphone input with video), it gave all the sound to both speakers and the headphones with no filter. Return track knobs are not active for some reason.
The volume color turned blue, etc. Everything looks good. What am I missing?
Gracias,
omg this trick was such an eye opener. thank you so much!
I have a presonus 2x2 interface. If I'm willing to go mono for my music output and mono for my click, could I accomplish a separate mix for my click in a similar way?
for live shows, is it possible to do this with a mixer like allen and heath instead of using a focusrite 6i6
Hey community I have a question!
my interface audio has only two track out chanel... it could be possible with a pugglin, programme were I can isolated the clic over the master out track? my interface is a M-audio 192/4
please I poor haha I can't buy other one, but I need the guide time (metronome) necessary it
Thank you this is what I’ve been looking for, but I’m using logic and I’m an amateur with any daw. I have questions, what do I need if i want to play backing track with click and cues and sending the backing track to FOH, and also sending the track with click to my drummer.
I’m using logic pro to play the backing track and also made a click track. I only have my laptop and audio interface with 2 inputs and outputs. I hope you can answer my questions, I’ve been looking for the last 6 months and I got no one can show me how 😓😓😓
Thank you, keep sharing 🙏🙏🙏
If you are looking for different audio to go to your ears, your drummers ears, and front of house, you would need 3 different output pairs. I don't think this can be done with just 2 outputs!
@@marigo5714 thank you for the answer, can you show me how to set the audio output on logic pro x ?
Send the output to 3 outputs audio interface
@@marigo5714 also i didn’t get the headphone two headphone sockets you mentioned. I have a scarlett 18i20 surely you are plugging headphones into physical outputs 3 and 4 at the back of the interface not the front. Even the top line scarlett 18i20 only has headphone sockets. I fail to understand the need. Surely taking balanced jacks out of output sockets 3 and 4 at the back of the interface to a headphone mixer is the way to go.
Hey as i'm moving through my tracks in my live set, the click track doesn't adjust to the different tempos of the tracks. i have put the tempos in the right hand side master bar, but it keeps playing the tempo of the top left tempo and i am having to manually type in the tempo in top right tempo to make the click be at the right tempo. Any advice is much appreciated x
Hi! can i do this with scarlett 4i4?
I have routed my mix like you said but metronome is still coming out from my speakers that are on Outputs 1 and 2... My headphones are on output 4... Could you help me please. Thanks in advance!
does it work with a scarlett 4i4?
If you dont have a soundcard with 4 or more channels. Is it possible to solve this with two soundscards?
Yes helpful
Hi. What if I only have one stereo output which is only 1/2? Would it still be possible? :(
Hi there, is that possible to hear click in headphones only and hear the rest of the music in speaker without using the audio interface? i plug the headphone in my mac and use the speaker built in mac as well
Not that I know of, but I could just not be aware of this. On a mac I believe the speakers and headphone jack are the same output. Perhaps you could try using something like Loopback to do some internal routing??
Ok. If You play able on stage is perfect solution. But if you have band on stage and you what to send more then two musician the metronome what then ?
Do you collab with other artists? I'd love to collab.
Hi Mari! Will this work with a Scarlett 4i4?
@Mari Sullivan thank you Mari! You are wonderful!!
I dont use Ableton Live, however I do Use reaper. Do you have any Idea on how i would run a click track there?
Hey Bryce! So sorry but I have never used Reaper!
Hey, so I am using an Audient id44. I set the master to outputs 1/2 and metronome click to 3/4, but can still hear the click via the main master and speakers, can you help me on this? Or anyone else for that matter?:)
I think she is doing this with the sends. Her 3 tracks in the left all go to Send C and Send D, but then Send C only goes out to 3/4 (where the click goes to) and Send D goes out to Master (1/2) which has no click. So 3/4 is getting all 3 tracks plus the click, but 1/2 is only getting the 3 tracks.
@@rickhood Sorted it it now, just had to route things differently in my system panel. Using an Audient ID44:)
so how would you do It to set up with the 212 scarlet? thank you
i don't think it'll work. it lacks the 3/4 output
i would LOVE to be wrong about this, since I have the 2i2, and am looking now to upgrade :(
unfortunately you need to have more than one pair of outputs. The 2i2 only has one pair, 1-2.
Try this setup if you know how to create an aggregate audio device in your computer audio console:

@@kinosousa3623 oh wow, this looks doable. Wish I saw this before I ordered the 4i4 to get the 4 outputs. Oh well.
“ It’s not that hard to set up”
ME; looks at video and it says 7 mins 😂
uff, i have scarlett 2i2 :D
Me too. Eeesh
There is a way to route the click to the headphone jack on your computer. I did that for a while when I had the 2i2
Try this setup: ua-cam.com/video/LHPYM0fM5Do/v-deo.html
wait, it's that simple?
Has anyone sorted out how to route sends (for verbs, delays etc) into those other return channels? If I send audio to A and B for verb and delay, I cant select sends only on those returns. I can only hear them if they get sent to the master. Basically I want to have control over where my affected audio goes instead of sending all my fx busses right to the master. Maybe I'm missing something (I've only been on Ableton for like a week) but I can't seem to figure it out
20 minutes later I tried right clicking for the first time..... SO yeah, that's how. Anyone reading this, right click on the send you want to enable on your return track and select "Enable Send"
