So my son (he’s 2) managed to jam a piece of plastic into the disc tray. I managed to take apart my Xbox and get the piece out, thanks to your video. Life saver 👍🙏
Thank you sir my Xbox recently got broken with a disc inside and you helped me so much with my recovery mission arc I was about to cry and lose hope but thanks to you I did it
Thanks for the info on the disk drive. Just took my Xbox one x apart to get a disk out. As you described on how to remove a disk. The motors are turning and what sounds like the little belts slipping or not being able to turn the cogs or gears they are attracted to. Mine has been making this sound for awhile now. Took my air blower and blew the gears off, everything is moving as it should. So now it's time to put it back together.
@@RetroGamingWithHopper before I put the guts back into the casing I seen the insert and eject rod it runs across the disk drive and is all rubber coated it pulls the disk in and ejects the disc. I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip turning the gears on the side so the rod would turn. Blew it off with compressor one last time, and put back together. Working like new again. Thanks again for the video !
You can manually eject the disc. At 0.51 you can see a littl orange hole under the sync button. You can put a needle or paperclip in there and the disc will be pushed out.
Thank you, very helpful. Stuck disk out. Part of the gear mechanism was out of place. Would not have known this without seeing how it should have been from your video.
There is a little hole on the left side of your xbox one, next to your cd drive. Bend a paper clip straight and push into it till the disc barely comes out and pull it out. It is not too hard to find the sweet spot, but you will need to had a 5 to 10 pounds of presser as you push in.
@@RetroGamingWithHoppersir I think my disk Is jammed is there any other way to fix this without taking apart the drive? I'm no expert with unscrewing things.

So what would you assume would be wrong with the disk drive if disks keep getting jammed in and sometimes the console won’t read some disks. Cleaning the laser would help read the disk. But I don’t see what would be wrong to cause disks to be jammed. The rollers and laser are perfectly fine. There was some dust on the roller and slide which i just cleaned up but I don’t think it’d rlly cause the disk to get jammed in there
Over time as parts wear a little and tolerances are not as they where the disc is not going in straight. It's not a very good design and is not made to last. They want you to buy a new one every two or three years. If your not buying a new one they aren't making any money. Most of the one's I run into are from little kids jamming the disc in and not letting the drive pull it in on it's own.
After updating the latest season my Xbox 1 show me a memory error message when I get ready to start playing it won't let me eject when I push the button a bell rings I reset it several times I used a bobby pin to manually push it and nothing happens uninstalled the game and I still can't eject the disc

I put a disc in my Xbox long ago but every time I try to eject it or turn in my Xbox it makes a grinding noise, I ripped the Ribon flex cable trying to fix it so I used the manual ejected on the side of the Xbox and it still is stuck and now the manual eject button is not working, I don’t know what to do pls help👏
I have a disk stuck inside and it makes this terrible grinding noise. I also have problems having a steady connection playing games. Do you think this is correlated
No, they have nothing to do with one another. The connection problem could be your internet. For best connection make sure your Xbox is hard-wired not WiFi.
See the problem with mine is i don’t think there’s a disk, i tried manually ejecting got nothing, it’s not reading anything, says nothing is in it, the rollers are working and it’s trying to pull in a disk but it’s like there something in it or it just won’t pull the disk in. My bf and I think we may have to replace the whole drive cause we are sure nothing is in the actual drive and the front plastic? flaps that open up or hold the disk in won’t open up or are stuck on the drive. It won’t even work with the trick where you eject while trying to put a disk in and it sometimes accept the disk like other ppl suggest, it’s like it just won’t open and the rollers are working cause when the disk is pushed in and you hit eject it pushes out whatever little I can push in.
Before you replace the drive I would take the drive out and see if there is something out of place or for some reason there is something in it. But if you have to replace the drive you have to put your PCB from your old drive in the new one.
Hello Hopper, your video was extremely helpful, however, I noticed a small tooth was chipped and did not catch the start of unloading the disk.
