I couldn't be happier to present this piano duet with PandaTooth of Once There Were Dragons from How To Train Your Dragon 3 - The Hidden World! Panda and I have been friends for a long time and it's a great pleasure and honor to finally collaborate with such a talented pianist! Once There Were Dragons truly is the pinnacle of John Powell's outstanding work on the How To Train Your Dragon franchise, reworking some of my favourite themes from the franchise while introducing a fantastic new motives!

@@qqalaxyy I get that same feeling when I go and listen through the film scores of all three. Takes me back to when I was 7 and my grandparents took my brother and I to see the first one in theaters. Since then, I've completely fallen in love with the series, and John Powell's outstanding film scores do that much more to tie everything together. The music of John Powell is imo one of the most memorable things about this trilogy, and I'm really gonna miss hearing new httyd scores from him. What an incredible composer

When they said about concluding the francise, they weren't kidding. In about 4 minutes, you can hear the major theme between toothless and Hiccup like Wounded, Forbidden Friendship, and our favourite, The Test Drive all neatly compacted and arranged, Bless John Powell and his team. That being said, your transcription is very well made too, would you in any chance share the music sheet? because i can't wait to play it myself as a beginner.
Farrel A there’s a little bit of Romantic Flight inside of the Test Drive sequence. It replaced the free fall sequence in the original Test Drive.

I don't usually comment on youtube, but oh man... This song.. I'm just overwhelmed. It's so beautiful. I listen to it every day, multiple times a day. I don't understand how you can only have 61, 500 views. You both did something fantastic! I love this movie so much and you successfully conveyed the emotion I felt during the movie! Great job.

This is my favorite ending to any movie ever, and the score really contributed to it. Great cover!
For me at least:
1st movie: Amazing and nearly flawless
2nd movie: As amazing as the first with a few more flaws, but more emotional moments.
3rd movie: Amazing animation, not at good plot with more flaws, but the most emotional movie I've ever seen.
I never come close to crying during movies, but this one had me on the brink. Thanks for the amazing franchise DreamWorks. And thank you AtinPiano for representing such beautiful music.

Wow, what you two accomplished together is amazing! I liked watching the main melody switch between the two of you and the parts where you both play melodies through each other. Great job!
Questions: how did you figure out who plays what? How many takes did it take you to nail it as well as you did? I’m truly curious
That was all Panda. He broke down the piece into sections and assigned melody and accompaniment between us. He arranged and recorded his part first, then I filled in the blanks and recorded my part to his recording. It was quite tricky getting the timing right. Took me around 20 takes to get this. Slightest discrepancy in timing throws you off and you have to start over.

It takes 3 years of hard work. At least, then youre good.... BUT it takes no time if you really love playing it. Me, ill be honest.. i never loved to play the piano when i was a kid and now being a teen... i regretted it because i realized how much i love music and the piano.. once i got back into it, i relearned everything in the 5 years i spent as a child and walked to the playing piano for fun part in no time at all. No regrets now hehehe.

Honestly, ever since I’ve seen HTTYD 3 I’ve been kinda depressed(just sad). Knowing something so perfect and such a big part of the childhood I loved has ended. But every time I listen to this and am almost brought to tears, I remind myself that both everything is perfect cuz it lasts. My childhood may be leaving, but I can remember these movies that meant so much to me 5-10 years from now, and show them to my children, as to give them the same wonderful experience.

Ha! I grew up with httyd. Sure, I was too young to watch the first movie in theatres, but i always watched it with my family. I loved the movie, but it was a mutual sort of love. Third movie came out, and I was in some sort of shock. And that my friend was the start of an unhealthy obsession to how to train your dragon 🙂
