Thank you, so much for clarifying what these cymbals are all about. Excellent video!
Brilliant demo Simon!
Now I understand what they are! Thanks.
sounds like a great option for festivals that used a shared "house kit" for non-headliners
Can I plug the Gen16 pickups into my existing Yamaha DTX550 module or do I need the Gen16 module thing.
Really cool!
Hi I've got a load of white noise in my headphones from the pickups... what's the fix guys.. these are just out the box buffed bronze
The cymbals by themselves are not bad. I bought the newer L80 series just for practice and then experimented with them at Worship Practice without the Gen 16 system on our Roland kit. They sound nice and others liked them alone but when the pickup system is added it creates that brittle hollow sound that is terrible no matter what setting or tampering you do. I hate it. Ziljdian needs to invest in a proper company that specializes in pickups and amplification to make it work.
If it wasn't for mics picking up the rubber and mesh pads on the Roland kit we use, we would just mic them like a acoustic kit. Ziljdian fix the pickup system or brain.
When are you going to fix the sound issues with these? So promising but its been a few years and you still haven't fixed the awful sound the Module produces. My church wants them but they sound horrendous through that module.
Hi Simon I have an Alesis sample rack edrum module and it has main outputs (L mono and R) so my question is can I connect the gen16 to my alesis sample rack via that output and connects to gen16 input? I have been told I can't do that but on the manual it says you can connect to any edrum module? Hear soon thanks
You can go out of the Alesis module and into the drum inputs of the DCP. There is a drum/cymbal mix knob on the front panel of the DCP to mix the signals.
I have the Gen 16 I LOVE THEM / You don't post much about it .
His voice sounds fine, but there's nasty comb filtering when the hat is played.
Get larnell lewis to demo the gen16!!!!!
Great demo, but these are not for me.
As a sound engineer for a smaller band I am fucking desperate for a solution to a loud drummer. Why does every single demo of these cymbals sound like they are band passed from 3.5.k to 4.5k with a 10db boost?
I think that's just the Pick up to blame haha
thats gotta be the worst snare drum sound ive ever heard in my life
