Nothing like a Cool Groove.
I love this music and 42
Epic song
It is the best thing on Running in the Family by far. Too long for a single. Very poignant song as I think this is Phil 'speaking' to Mark and saying he wants to stay in Level 42 but the direction the band was taking meant that he (Phil) could see an end in sight and soon 3 months after the album was released, Phil was gone.
Fascinating. What about the direction the band was taking didn't work for Phil? What direction did Phil want to take? (Myself, I loved the "Running" direction but love this song most of all, it's magical.)
16tel Funk.........nice number!....amazing!!
Great gig. Everyone seems to be enjoying the vibe 🤗
Childhood memories

The backing vocals is the pushing harmony. Like keyboards

I love level 42 . but imho they always sound lacking without original member mike lindup , keyboard wizard and superb falsetto singer
I think, at least in Britain, the press is snobby. Radio 6 gets behind, any rubbish Radio Head does and thinks it's singer a genius. On the other hand Level 42 were the equal of many bands, and black funk which is a high bar, given the history. True they did go commercial but there's some good stuff if you root around, also forget the name "trees destroyed by acid rain falling through the skies" and other gems.
Twenty down the line…This is looking back to the datum point of 'quality' we should be judging any future or past performances …Just saying, on this night of the 24th of October 2022…
