Hi everyone. I typically don't comment on UA-cam videos, I'm more of a silent listener. I've played magic for a awhile now and I would say I play casually. I like to keep competitive with my group so I had cards that were up there in price. If I had to guess about $400-$500 worth of cards. You thank god that it's just card board that's gone but for me it hit a little harder. Those cards weren't just paper products. They were moments in time with my best friends. They were hours spent trying to find that fun interaction or something that would blow the table's minds. Not trying to sound sentimental but to me, that's what was stolen not just cardboard. Thank you guys for the call-out. Mitch, your channel and its community is truly something to treasure. Love, Brian

It was updates to many decks: Breana Osgir Valki My ninja turtles theme deck with Archelos at the helm The sneak attach precon(upgraded) My longest lasting deck Syr Gwyn with knights and artifacts focused. My play group won't miss that deck. So it was a bit all adds up to a lot being missed :(

Ahhh I feel for Brian. I've known two people just completely give up on Magic after having their collections stolen from cars specifically. One of which being my friend who tried to get me into commander all the way back in 2009 and sourced some really great stuff for me which I find extra tragic that I can never play it with them after taking so long to get into Commander. Hope Brian manages to get back into the game.
Coincidentally, I just built my Colfenor deck within the last week! I only used cards I had on hand, though, so definitely gonna be looking to this video to find some good upgrades to my current deck! Thanks a bunch! P.S, The reason I built this deck is because I had a lot of fun with Colfenor as a commander drafting Commander Legends. Wound up doing really good that draft, so I figured I'd come back to Colfenor and expand it to a full deck :P
I was curious about this commander and a couple of weeks ago i built a deck myself. In my opinion its insane you can combo with almost any card in your deck and a lot of them are super cheap. A personal favorite for me in this deck is pawn of ulamog, as colfenor works with tokens too you can get with a sacrifice outlet infinite colorless mana and 0/1 as long you have 0/0 X mana cost.
Also no joke, if I got my decks stolen I would probably cry. I have put a lot of effort into them and they aren’t just cards to me. They’re like art projects or puzzle to figure out
I was thinking about building Colfenor as a Treefolk Tribal and running the Anthem effects. This looks like a tough deck to beat. I'll probably use a lot of this in my Colfenor when it becomes a reality. Thanks for the great video! 👍
So I know it's not technically under $1, but an all star in my Colfenor deck is Blex, Vesting Pest. It's other side is good card draw and fills the graveyard, and since it's front side has 2 toughness, you can get it back super easily.
Would totally add Tormod the Desecrator to the decklist. Free 2/2 zombies to either fuel the loop some more or just additional value should you untap them. Plus it’s still only a $0.39 card. Love the list though, excellent as always Mitch.
Saw this while I was walking into my LGS with some trade ins, now I know what I’m building today! I’ve had Colfenor in my collection for a while so I’m excited to finally try him out
For my deck, the +1/+1 I usually go with is "Pledge of Unity" which is less than 5cents each on card market (About 2p for me as a UK citizen). I also use "Ethereal Absolution" (which sells for about 30p so probably around 50 cents) which is an enchantment that says "Creatures you control get +1/+1. Creatures your opponents control get -1/-1." She also allows you to create Spirit Token Creatures by exiling an opponent's creature card from the graveyard. I also run the Legendary Creature "Teysa Karlov." She is a 4-drop that makes abilities triggered by Creature death trigger twice. She also gives everything vigilance and lifelink, but I was more thinking about the double the creatures returning to the battlefield. She is around $1. Budget black-white-green is my forte.
Great build! We try to stay away from infinite combos in my playgroup so I need to see if I can tweak this so that it *almost* murders everyone at the table!
Open The Graves and Desecrated Tomb would be phenomenal in this deck. Also, if you wanted to spend a little more, God-Eternal Oketra would be a great addition.
Colfenor is one of if not my most favorite card in the Commander Legends. I was surprised how cheap it was considering how easy it seemed to go infinite with it. Glad to see Colfenor getting the love it deserves! I should also point out that I don't have a Colfenor deck at the moment (though maybe I'll make one after this), though I did throw it into my Kethis, the Hidden hand deck, and I love it.

Woop woop! Colfenor is awesome. So I wanna give some card tips for anyone who likes him, ignoring budget though. Deathrender is a equipment that lets you loop creatures infinitely. Altar of dementia is a wincon baked into the sac outlet. Fertilid is also nice ramp, and its 0 toughness in GY so it will be easy to get back. And lastly, Harmonious Archon. Not anthem, but makes EVERY creature a 3/3 base stats. So with one anthem you got the better board as long as you have more creatures, and it buffs like the anthems, atleast anything that is gonna get sacrificed. Rant out!
Awesome content as always. Been getting back into magic after years of hiatus. I've been inspired to brew up an Intet the Dreamer deck focused on ramp and card value with a sneaky combo here and there but mostly just Temur good stuff.

As a shirei player once in a while, I'd like to play the devil's advocate : Those decks are fun in micro-doses! They're hard mentally to keep track of every trigger, and the deck requires a lot of mental power, but the combo lines kinda always resemble. I'd play it once per game nights personally. TLDR : It's really fun, but you wanna avoid playing it too often to not get burnt out :) !
Hey I enjoy watching your vids. Wanted to ask do you think you could do a video on deck boxes, and carrying cases/bags that can hold many decks safely with sleeves? I think it'd be nice to have a video for newer people where they could buy them.
Some cards that would be good in this deck are Pitiless Plunderer and Star Pupil. (Not on the price of either though.) But Plunderer gives more mana, and Pupil is capable of pumping itself so it's a 1/1 on the field, but a 0/0 in grave making it easier to bring back with the trigger. (I'm pretty sure you could grab Pupil back with the trigger from its death too, since its on the grave when the trigger occurs, but I'm not 100% sure about that.)
You may want a few things to protect your graveyard in a pinch like Elixir of Immortality or Feldon's cane (Hurray for Chronicles!). Aegis of the Gods gives you hexproof and has only 1 toughness
Hey Mitch, I played the deck and found myself struggling to get card draw and I fall behind very fast. My friends are playing modified pre cons. Would love to see a video on upgrades or even how you build ramp card draw into a deck like this effectively
This deck lacks in two departments: card draw, and the fact that your commander is vurnable to removal. Since deck have allready some nice sac outlet i would go for more in reanimation route. Bonyard lurker, Whisper Blood liturgist...etc or for +1/+1 couters(mostly spikes) beatdown and use commander as protection from boardwipes.
dang, I misread Colfenor at first and got really excited to build with it. thought it could get stuff with toughness less than or equal to, and thought it was into play. Guess that was too much to hope for, lol. another good option for this deck though is creatures that have 0 effective toughness in grave, but enter with +1/+1's, like Fertilid, or Yorvo.
This is perfect for an Abzan aristocrats deck that I'm building. This could work extremely well with all the Protean Hulk triggers I want to get in a single turn, so thanks for giving me some ideas!!!

Nice, I’ve been wanting to get some ideas for Colfenor, I must have Parapet, that’s the sorta old card I love, just like a basic medieval thing, like Castle, and Serrated Arrows, for some underpowered Catan Magic.
I have a Colfenor Kamigawa spirit tribal combo deck. Soul shift, Colfenor, and Death's Oasis all on the board provide a ton of card advantage. Super fun.
@@derekludwig3945 soul shift the ability that's on spirit creatures from Kamigawa. Should have clarified. Between the soul shift ability Colfenor's ability, and death's oasis, with all three on the board there is a lot of advantage. Especially since death's oasis mills yourself for 2 on death triggers, so you get more fuel for your abilities.

First time dwelling on this dude. Haven't watched video yet, but, I'm gonna say that weakening effects would be great for this deck. For example that black enchantment that makes your creatures cost 2 less, but they all get -1/-1. Or monoblack Kaerverak (?) that gives all other creatures -1/-1. So now, you can have two cards with exactly same P/T just swapping place with each other. Also, chuck in some undying/persist for multiple triggers
Minus effects don’t work to swap creatures with the same toughness, because we need the toughness in the graveyard to be *less* than the toughness on the battlefield. You’re right that swapping creatures with the same toughness is part of our game plan, but we do it with effects that *increase* the toughness of creatures on the battlefield.

So many stories popping up of card theft over the past few weeks. Edit: after watching - Ecological Appreciation! I've been thinking of how to put it in a deck. I'm surprised it's so cheap for how cool of a function it serves.
Hey not sure if anyone will see this as its a bit of an older vid, but I got this deck and have been having a rough time with it. Mainly trying to get all 5 cards needed for this combo has been rough and having opponents who can see what is happening have always stopped it. I have added some more removal and board wipes to the deck to help it flow but I still feel like its weak, any advice?
I'd say Commander Legends has a lot of lowkey powerful non-partner commanders that get overshadowed by the partners. Example being, I've done some disgusting things with Nevinyrall that breaks mtgo lmao
I have to say I'm disappointed that you chose not to include slagwurm armor, 1 colorless to cast, 3 to equip, creature gets +0/+6. that's incredibly powerful considering Colfenor's graveyard ability, and would allow almost anything to get yoinked back to the field. Great video all the same, but you missed a potential powerhouse combo.

I love Colfenor. I actually put one in my Doran the Siege Tower as a way to get stuff back in the late game.

A month ago I switched out Ishkanah with Colfenor because I needed white in my commander deck and its been performing way better

Check out Tolarian community college. Has a ton of good reviews on boxes, sleeves, binders, and other TCG stuff.

Approach of the second sun would also be an effective win con with how much drawing and mana generation is going on

I have a Colfenor Kamigawa spirit tribal combo deck. Soul shift, Colfenor, and Death's Oasis all on the board provide a ton of card advantage. Super fun.
"Soul shift", and minor variants of that name, isn't a card. Could you clarify?
@@derekludwig3945 soul shift the ability that's on spirit creatures from Kamigawa. Should have clarified. Between the soul shift ability Colfenor's ability, and death's oasis, with all three on the board there is a lot of advantage. Especially since death's oasis mills yourself for 2 on death triggers, so you get more fuel for your abilities.

@@derekludwig3945 it's pretty fun! A good way to limit the power of the deck from being just downright gross, but still have a really solid theme and a lot of little abilities and hidden strengths. It's a lot of fun. I wish you luck in your endeavors!

I like the Colfenor in my saskia deck I use this with sneak attack, kodama of the east tree, to get other creatures back
13:45 ah yes tendrils, though my favorite storm card for sac decks is 'Bitter ordeal' Though it alone is round 20$, so not exactly budget friendly.

First time dwelling on this dude. Haven't watched video yet, but, I'm gonna say that weakening effects would be great for this deck. For example that black enchantment that makes your creatures cost 2 less, but they all get -1/-1. Or monoblack Kaerverak (?) that gives all other creatures -1/-1. So now, you can have two cards with exactly same P/T just swapping place with each other.
Also, chuck in some undying/persist for multiple triggers
Minus effects don’t work to swap creatures with the same toughness, because we need the toughness in the graveyard to be *less* than the toughness on the battlefield. You’re right that swapping creatures with the same toughness is part of our game plan, but we do it with effects that *increase* the toughness of creatures on the battlefield.

I would argue that Masked Vandal is a better card to use in this build than Acidic Slime.

Hey not sure if anyone will see this as its a bit of an older vid, but I got this deck and have been having a rough time with it. Mainly trying to get all 5 cards needed for this combo has been rough and having opponents who can see what is happening have always stopped it. I have added some more removal and board wipes to the deck to help it flow but I still feel like its weak, any advice?
I'd say Commander Legends has a lot of lowkey powerful non-partner commanders that get overshadowed by the partners. Example being, I've done some disgusting things with Nevinyrall that breaks mtgo lmao

I have to say I'm disappointed that you chose not to include slagwurm armor, 1 colorless to cast, 3 to equip, creature gets +0/+6. that's incredibly powerful considering Colfenor's graveyard ability, and would allow almost anything to get yoinked back to the field. Great video all the same, but you missed a potential powerhouse combo.
