Thanks so much Connor, this video has helped me a lot. Cheers from Venezuela.
This was really helpful! thanks a lot. Also demystified this HSL Secondary section of Lumetri Color. Cheers bro.
Great video - learned so much! thank you
You are a prince and a scholar. 😊 Thank you for this tutorial. You are a natural teacher.
Connor, this tutorial is a lifesaver. THANK YOU. Just subscribed!
Thanks for the sub!
An Excellent lesson. Glad to have found your channel. Your premiere is not the same as mine. Similar. This video is 6 or so months old so perhaps it's an older version than now. Thank You Tom in NYC
This was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

Awesome, thank you!
Mega helpful!
Great Video, It worked for me :)
Glad I could help!
My subject wore a black sweater with very pale skin tone. Add some bright sun and the camera was washing out her face tones. I was able to add a little pink and color into her face. She now looks human and not like a ghost. Thank you.
Glad I could help, Lon! I'd also try adding another instance of Lumetri Color, using HSL to select ALL of the skin, then adding a touch of red into the shadows, this can help skin look a bit more lifelike. Be very subtle with it though.
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
Super useful brother ❤️
Glad to hear that!
Thanks!
No problem!
Thanks for the help, but loose the music!
omg this literally saved my footage, thanks!

You Saved my Life!! from Sweden
Seems like a mild exaggeration, but I appreciate it either way.
Genius!
when youre selecting the color with HSL its easier to keep the button pressed and drag acros your face to select a wider range so you dont have to modify it in lumetri panel like 2:51
Laurențiu Derecichei Hey! Absolutely, here's why it wasn't used though.
1) The area I'm selecting was small enough that it typically isn't necessary.
2) The click and hold function is quite glitchy in certain version of Premiere and only acts as a single click.
3) Even with clicking and dragging you'll likely still have to manually refine your mask because you don't TRULY know what it's grabbing until you turn on the "Show Mask" button.
So, it still won't prevent you from having to refine the mask manually, so I wanted to make sure I teach everyone how to do that. Great tip though for larger areas or selecting multiple colors! :)
it worked thanks
You're welcome!
you my maaaan
Looks like a great fix. Liked and subscribed, will let unknown how it goes with my anti bullying video. Sylvia - Darwin, NT. Australia
does this apply to all the clips?. what is did was, i made an adjustment layer and then did these adjustments. will that be okay?
I would apply it on a per-clip basis, as these areas can change brightness values as our talent moves closer or further from a light source, for example. However, if applying it on an adjustment layer looks good to your eye, then that's fine too.
thank you, really very useful video. the music is too much
Hi Conor, this was really helpful but I don't have the "show mask" option in my HSL Secondary tab.. Any idea why?
What version of Premiere Pro are you using?
@@ConnorGilks thanks for replying! I’m using version 15.2
so..this doesn't involve tracking? because my character is moving a lot.
It doesn’t, no!
@@ConnorGilks whoa! thank u!
Great and helpful video but the background music is so intense, it was stressing me out the whole time :/
this music xD
Great tips and helpful advice. 👌 Just what I needed.
But your background music does not suit your easeful description. 😂
Glad I could help!
Yeah, but it's more fun that way. ;)
Great vid! The music doesn't fit the vid thou
I use music I like, the same kind of music that I make music videos for, and the same kind of music the example clip is from. I'm not into the generic-royalty-free-chill-EDM-tutorial-background-music thing, too many people doing that already haha. Thanks man, glad the video was helpful.
Super helpful... but please kill the bg music!
I am not a murderer, that's not my vibe.
Man good tutorial but you picked the shittiest background music for this. It's too loud and extremely distracting.
