Leaving the little things out in an explanation can ruin a video. Thankfully you spent just enough time on the most confusing parts of getting started. That was A+ my man
Hey Brother, I don't know why this video is not on the top list...but am amazed and feel just so confident like dang.... I am color-blind and had one of the toughest times one can ever have with colors and skin tones... but you're amazing... you're an amazing teacher... thanks a lot for choosing the opposite examples... am so happy
No no no! Just C'mon! that second example was just... spot on! And your timing dude is sooo perfect, Like I'm editing a film rn and i have problems correcting my skin tones in couple of shots and u you just saved my life! Oh and ill send the link when i complete post the film ;)
This video is fantastic and love the simplicity. I've wanted to know how to properly color correct darker skin tones in Premiere for a while and you have definitely stepped up. Cheers!
JUST Found this video. Wish I would’ve found it along time ago. The most simple, to the point, Premier color grade video I found. (Even if it IS specific for skin.) Thanks so much for putting out such good content 🖤🖤✊🔝
Just stumbled across your channel with your c200 stuff and binge watched a few vids. Your stuff is great man. I’m a c200 owner myself. Keep up the great work, you’ve got a new subscriber 👊
I thank god for you. Because you did 2 separate types of skin tones. Many people only do one, most commonly white skin, and it’s refreshing that you have tutorial on 2 different skin tones. Thanks.
Great video. Most tutorials of this type will do the qualifier, vectorscope etc. and tell you to hit the skin tone line, but ignore the shadows, midtones and highlights elements which are crucial to getting a professional look. Nice work
Just bought my first cine camera and shot this interview, and man you don’t know how great is this. I was literally struggling with the skin tone this was big time clutch. you save the day my man thanks
Game changer! Still trying to get my head around colour correcting and colour grading but this was seriously helpful when it comes to improving skin tones! Thanks a mil, loving your work!
@@DannyGevirtz So good. I watched this again and paused along as I colour graded. Very easy to understand and my mind has been blown with this tutorial regarding colour grading.
Using make up before shooting is a great way to make your skin "even" from all areas specially for dusky skin tones so fix skin tones in post becomes easier.
Never thought about using secondary colour correction for skintones! This method, when used subtly, adds a bit more pop, especially when using three-way colour wheels for the skintones alone.
Hands down the best and easiest tutorial for skin tone grading. HSL secondary never made sense to me and it was always hit and miss. But this tutorial is simply champion.
This was very, very good. But there's one thing that I'm not sure where to get it.... how do you choose in which direction move the highlights/midtones/shadows wheels?
Thank you for this using the secondaries is a more efficient solution than using the fast colour corrector and the opacity mask to correct skin colour I see now why it isn't in Lumitri. Thank you
Excellent tutorial! The click & hold colour picker tool did it for me, I'd always click, select, click, select and it got annoying. I still don't quite understand exactly which way to drag the HSL bars to isolate the skin perfectly but I'm working on it.
just saved this to my playlist because color grading is really a big weakness of mine and this helped a ton. I'll probably watch it again next time I'm editing
Thanks a lot for your super cool tutorial, You nailed it....Your tutorial was very simple and it really worked for my footage shot on Samsung Galaxy S7, giving natural skin tone. Also, I was wondering that you selected the "Input LUT" based on your camera. What would you recommend for my case which shot on Samsung Galaxy S7 edge... Thanks for the tutorials, Keep Going!!!
You should desaturate the skintone first. It compresses the skintone color so the redish tones don't vary so much. Then after desaturating you should push the orange midtone back up to make it look natural. Then I'd recommend playing with highlights and shadows (if even needed) That's how I edit skintone. That's how they grade 'Hollywood' movies too
These tones have always been a huge pain for me, I don't do well with colors in general so this basic info will go a looooong way for me. Appreciate it!
Excellent tutorial my friend, quick and to the point 👌 Skin tones are always the main issue for me anyway. Will definitely play around with this in our next vid. 👍
Yo! Your voice sounds so crisp. Please make a couple of videos on how you record them as well as how you process them. Using EQ. I am using the rode micro so make one for shotgun mics.
Super simple and super helpful! Love your vids. Have you done one about getting clients? If not, that'd be a cool one to learn from you about since your stuff looks super dope!
Easily one of the best skin grading tutorials I have seen buddy

I have my color grade and LUT on 2 different lumetri effects. Do I do all this work on the grade or on the LUT?
You correct the skin tones after you color correct and grade? Can you do vice versa?
Also amazing tutorial!
Im sure you can do whatever way you want I do it this just so the skin doesnt get screwed up along the process if i do it first
