Hey, I am a Vikings fan, and I stumbled upon your video. I’m really happy that you understood some of our goofy blitzes. A lot of national media guys think it’s cover 0, but we ran that 3-deep, 2-underneath a ton last year. The fire zones are newer this year, so we’ll see how he adapts when offenses start to practice for it. I have never seen that fire-zone / quarters thing, and I’ve seen some wacko shit from BFlo over the past two years. This was a rough loss, but the 49ers will bounce back against the Rams. I hope the 49ers don't meet the Vikings down the road again in the playoffs. Especially in Minnesota. Brian Flores was cooking up a storm with his boys on defense. Long season ahead. We'll see what happens. Cheers boss. Go Niners.

Then he runs straight back like he's supposed to. Be frustrated that the special teams sucks over the punter looking for the ball after its blocked because the special teams sucks.
Great breakdown as always! I thought you would notice Jucz on the interception, he back pedaled into the LB that might have led to the interception still it’s a late throw
They're coached to love to space so before he turned he saw MOF open and is working his way there to try and get away from the other hook. Usually the CP is it's on the QB to hold the backside or get the ball out sooner
I love these videos just as much as the games lol. You go in depth without being boring. I hope you keep doing these and expand and maybe do your own podcast/show. Niners have a good amount of boring ppl on youtube who report on the team lol
Jonny's coverage of the team is better than any news media and even most of the former NFL players doing UA-cam videos. He knows the playbooks like an NFL/49ers coach. He's put years into studying them.
Donte Whitner talked about the long TD on KNBR and thought Sorensen made an unsound play call there. The team in general just looked all out of sorts. Purdy had a really off day despite 300+ yards. And games against the Vikings continue to be weird as hell. Hopefully the Rams are a palate cleanser next week. Yuck.
We haven't won in Minnesota since like 1996. Yet the last few years the NFL sends us there every year. I can't remember the last time the Vikings had to come (none playoff game) to us.
You covered a lot of ground here. It's frustrating when the game broadcasts show us only a narrow part of the plays developing and we can't see what's truly going on.
Purdy was in camp and was both late & inaccurate. The guy who wasn't in camp got wide ass open in the red zone. But can't criticize the white guy at QB.
I thought I saw a stat that we didn't have much play action passing, which was what happened last year when we played them. Is there something about the defensive scheme that discourages us from trying to throw out of play action?
I just think he (Guerendo) read it wrong. The outside zone wasn’t working all game and it’s possibly it wouldn’t have worked here by the way they were closing the gaps. Kid needs reps.
Yea, not sure what the UA-camr is talking about that and a few other things. He needs more reps and we can't really know how he will do without more reps. We have to work on more outside zone though as the inside gets stuffed with defenders later in the game. Purdy was definitely confused by the disguises and Flores is a solid DC. Our secondary was having huge miscommunications that need to be fixed and would like more blitzes to help with pressure.
*legend has entered the chat* I want Geurrendo to be awesome, but that wide-zone takes a lot of reps and the read is outside in. 3rd step is read step, 5th step cut step and so if he's not seeing it now, I don't know if he'll get it down over the next 5 weeks and can we afford growing pains with him while CMC and Deebo are out?
Will Kyle use Cowing to stretch the field, having some field could ease things. Hope they won’t play Ronnie Bell more in Deebo absence for blocking abilities. I also notice Purdy able to call protections as times it’s a good sign, now he has to call right slide protection.
1:25 This play right here, as I was watching the game live I noticed. Purdy not check to Mason, hit Kittle, or just take off and run? Most of the time he’s a great decision maker, forcing it to a covered Debo was extremely odd. Early season rust maybe. Go Niners!
Man, Brock was bad, but the D was even worse. Especially the secondary which I thought was a strength. Glad Hufanga will be back. Curious who will be the deep safety, since Brown was so bad.

Do you think Brock's arm looks weaker than last season? Balls are sailing on him this year, suggesting he can't drive it as well as before. I was thinking Brock putting on muscle was a bad idea, as it is more likely to make his arm weaker and make him slower than help him, and so far, that's what I'm seeing.
Definitely not weaker. If anything, he seems to have more zip. I think landmarks got shifted around on a couple of them so he's throwing to a deeper spot than the receiver ended up at
holy crap that was frustrating to watch. warner kept us in the game, it could have got real ugly without his TOs. brock, ward, trent all had some serious issues. hopefully it's just rust!
12:20 "all 3 of these players missed extensive time in training camp." Okay... but are you trying to say Aiyuk toasting the DB & being wide ass open was a mistake by him? Surely you're not saying he should have got his feet down on that throw that is both high and roughly 5 feet out of bounds. That's not a play where you could claim Aiyuk and Purdy were not on the same page or something where Purdy was off because of a lack of reps. That was the guy who was at training camp being late and wildly inaccurate. Now if Purdy missed time during camp the statement would make sense because he is known for being accurate and on time.
I think you're reading something else I to what I said. I'm saying that a QB and receiver need time to have better chemistry. You can't just take 7 months off and come back and expect perfect chemistry at the speeds of the NFL. They needed time together in camp
@@jonnydel to be clear I like your song too! just find the drums a little distracting. great job! and since I have you -- great job on everything else too!

They canceled the Probowl because it wasn't being taken seriously, will they soon do the same with the Preseason when teams are only playing 3rd stringers in some cases?
@@jonnydel yeah, I remember that rationale was used to elimate the Probowl. I can see them going to 20 games and just eliminating Preseason over the next decade or so. It has not useful purpose anymore.
Watching the play at 25:35 I still dont see how Jessie Nailor put this sack on Purdy... His only possible option was a hole shot and that looks like a small window to me.
Regarding Aiyuk, I think he did better than you're giving him credit for. The only two plays you mentioned that were specifically on him were the penalty, and the one play where he got knocked off his route (and still ended up wide open). On the flip side, though, how many other plays were you saying "he had Aiyuk" or "I'm not sure why he didn't go to Aiyuk"? This is why I'm skeptical of that receiver separation data you mentioned in the podcast yesterday - looking at this film, Aiyuk was getting open on plenty of plays where he simply wasn't targeted. I fully understand that training camp is exactly where a QB and receiver build up the chemistry to find those chances, and yes the block of time where Aiyuk missed training camp was on him rather than the team (the preceding 3 months were on the team, though). But still, if the receiver is running his route and getting open on a play, you can't really say he's not doing his job. Purdy normally finds him on those - hopefully that will just be one of the fixable execution issues that gets addressed.
That's why I'll always regard tape above all other stats as the standard for evaluation. When I saw the stat, I didn't realize it was only on targeted plays. Tape says that there were ops but we didn't get there for various reasons

And of course losing Deebo for 3+ weeks isn't going to be ideal.

They said the plan going in was to get some of the young guys reps that would pay off near the end of the year
Your music is quieter on videos featuring losses
Might be, lol. I normally set it to -23.5 in Adobe
@@jonnydel It just sets a more somber tone :)
Eric Saubert was decent.
Wishnowski, our punter, needed to just tag the guy. But he froze. Is this normal, or bad behavior?
I think shock
He probably has flashbacks of when he tackled a guy and got a flag lol
first
Yep! And you win the fried egg award! 🍳
Maybe the Vikings aren't as bad as people make them out to be 🤔
Dang. I normally finish all reviews win lose or draw, but I couldn’t with this one. Just poo poo!
He played like jittery Jimmy
He does
Nah, Jimmy actually won against the Vikings
@@eliasgonzalez5357 when in 31 years he didn't Brock didn't who did
@@roemellobell Blud, write a lil better, I couldn’t understand what you said, but if I got it right, those 31 years refer to winning in Minnesota, Jimmy won in 2021 in SF
@@eliasgonzalez5357 I don't have to do nothing I don't get paid to be on here but I know one thing Kyle and Brock will never win a ring it's just excuses
Yeah, that was too hard to watch. I know the Oline was garbage at times, Purdy got confused, I wonder how much rhythm was lost with Aiyuk not being in camp at all, CMC being out seems to take out a weapon in the passing game but we don't know since he's only thrown to Mason once, and lastly young safeties need to understand their assignment when they are the last line of defense, I seriously had flashbacks to the 2019 SB with Tyreek Hill (even though this wasn't anywhere close to as important as the SB). And of course losing Deebo for 3+ weeks isn't going to be ideal.
Not sure what you are talking about with regards to hill. Bosa got held like crazy on that play and it should have been the easiest call.
24:05 isn’t that a false start on Nailor? Or at least an illegal shift? He definitely didn’t get set, and was moving forward before the ball was snapped I thought.
Lazy, top to bottom. Every opportunity to win this and no one seemed to want it.
"Gotta be in camp" is some proper goodol'boy rhetoric.
This was a negotiation and GM has left star players without contract late many years running (see: Bosa, Samuel)
You talking like you know shi
One of the greatest QBs of all time agrees with the youtuber.
So now what shit do you know?
The contract he signed was offered the 12th. What do I not know that it only cost performance to sit out am extra 3 weeks?
SMH 😒
Failed at so many levels.
Wishnowsky deserved a Foot in the behind for just standing there and not touching the guy who recovered the blocked punt SMH!
Well, well, well the chickens have come home to roost. Very predictable that #11 and #71 had a terrible game. I predicted that they would cost Niners at least a game and cost Niners home field advantage. They will make the playoffs but win a Super Bowl sorry but not this year. That is my prediction. I down graded from fan to interested observer due to these two.
At least you haven't dropped to raider fan. Hard to make it out of that pit. Keep ur casual self out the comments
