AC/DC is old school Aussie hard rock, they are also contemporarys of Rose Tattoo (who were marketed as a bit badder and rougher) both bands came out at the same time during the high point of Aussie Hard Rock wave which swept across our nation(I'm an Aussie BTW) during the mid to late 70s and through the 80s and 90s who took the world by storm. AC/DC is one of the most widely known and popular bands to come out of Australia to date. Also check out Airborne who are AC/DC the next generation also from Australia and Hard Rock but with more metal influences Running Wild is a good start for an Airborne song.🤘🤘🇭🇲
Definitely not heavy metal... maybe glam metal? Lol To be honest I felt kind of disappointed because although I like AC/DC I feel like they don’t belong in School of metal, but obviously it’s your channel and I’m in no way telling you what to do. I was more like expecting a continuation of the greats like Sabbath or Priest or Maiden or Rush
That was a great reaction! This is definitely one of the classics. Would you like to see the new generation of metal? Please, I would be thankful if you could react to the band Motion Device. They are from Canada. As UA-camrs, I am sure you will connect to the topic of the song Thick Skin which is my first suggestion. Thanks a lot!
Lovely reaction, thanks. Just wanted to give a shout out to the true heart of the AC/DC "sound", Malcolm Young. He and that heavily modded Gretch Jet just WAS AC/DC. RIP Malcolm, you glorious bastard.
Amen, brother. Malcolm was so underappreciated by the public but I've been a session/studio musician since the late '80s and more musicians talk about Malcolm than Angus. We know the truth. Cheers.
Some of their songs I would argue sound more heavy metal than rock ‘n’ roll. Thunderstruck is one of those songs that sounds more heavy metal than rock ‘n’ roll. You could argue that it’s rock ‘n’ roll but even Black Sabbath is considered heavy metal when some of their songs sound more rock. Even Led Zeppelin was called heavy metal and they are not even close in my opinion.
If you're gonna react to AC/DC...react to the songs live from River Plate. I guarantee you wont find a more hyped crowd/better version to react to. Some bands are flat out live bands and doing their "official" videos is kind of a disservice in terms of getting their whole energy. Lol just do it. Anything you like from AC/DC live from River Plate
Logan Watson hey hey don’t forget “If You Want Blood You’ve Got It” the first live album from the band live in 1978.. that’s seriously a masterpiece of its own. But they are all great!
I literally know just one person who knows that song, so I thought it wasn't well known. You hear TNT, Highway to Hell, Hells Bells and Thunderstruck on the radio, at sport events or in movies, but this? So, well known to AC/DC fans but unknown to anyone else is what I meant
underrated and unknown song? I know where your coming from, but COME ON! "For those about to rock (we salute you)" is one of their most well known, most iconic songs *OF ALL TIME!* lol
FUN FACT: the Young brothers (Malcom RIP and Angus) are from Glasgow in Scotland and Brian the gentleman singing in the video is from a little town in the north eastern part of the uk called Gateshead which is where I’m from
Thunder struck is one of the most iconic rock anthems. That’s why the crowd goes nuts. I grew up to this music, and I am glad of it. Thanks for the video. Australian band yes, pretty sure Brian Johnson is Bri-ish. Lol. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
That main riff started off as a training-exercise that Angus came up with, he taped the strings of his guitar so he could only play notes in the B range...same with the iconic riff in "Sweet Child Of Mine", it was a warm-up that Slash would play to get ready for business.
So love your reaction of this song, Love the ladies' reaction with the eye-opening reaction when the lead singer started singing the main part of the song. I grew up where this band originated from. Such a fantastic Australian band. Thank you
I'm 54 today and what irritates me with the younger crowd is they dismiss the important bands that were Metal in the day, and brought the genre into existence. Some of this has come from critics with their own agendas, some really a misunderstanding of the time. I've heard all kinds of silly statements like ACDC is hard rock and Motorhead is Metal. There's no difference between those two bands. It just gets so ridiculous.
Its called entertainment. We went concerts to party with friends and forget about reality for awhile. You have no idea how fun these concerts were!!! We got to let loose and then be back at work Monday morning !!! That’s all that really matters. ☀️
You guys should check out Amaranthe for Metal Maiden Monday. They combine metal and pop to make a sort of dance-metal. I'd recommend either Maximize, 365, Invincible, or Boomerang
I have no issue with you playing hard rock in, what's usually a metal segment on your channel. AC/DC are definitely hard rock but the vast majority of metalheads (even the metal snobs) like at least 1 AC/DC song
It's like Angus said, "I'm sick and tired of people saying that we put out 11 albums that sound exactly the same. In fact, we've put out 12 albums that sound exactly the same."
That is why I've been a AC/DC fan for 40 years. I know when I buy a AC/DC record what I'll be hearing. Motorhead was the same. I've never been disappointed like I have been with some bands , Metallica comes to mind. The Metallica I started listening to in 1984 . Wasn't the same band in 1994 .
I would suggest earlier ACDC when they had a different singer, Bon Scott (RIP) Let There Be Rock live Glasgow, or earlier Brian Johnson ACDC Hells Bells, a tribute song for Bon. Keep up the good work
Who Made Who was also an awesome song by AC/DC. It was featured in the movie Maximum Overdrive. There is even a scene in that movie where the band dies! The guys were all for being in the movie (playing themselves) and dying together! lol
i love ac/dc but i am 74 and i do wish some of the reactors would give more credit to Bon Scott he was the greatest but there are so many young ones that haven't enjoyed his singing, keep up the great work.💚🎸🔥.
I heard that AC/DC recently released a new album. Don't know the name of it though. Great video. Juliette, I feel you are one the most articulate young women I've witnessed here on UA-cam.
I wouldn't say I'm an AC/DC fan, but listening to this, you just can't resist it. You start tapping your foot and work yourself up from there until you are wildly swinging around banging your head. It's music you just cannot hate.
I’m a huge AC/DC fan. As big of a fan as the next guy but this is not a great first reaction song. This is around the time that Brian lost his voice and it tends to throw people off and away from the band. I personally would have started off with a classic Bon Scott tune. Any song from Let There Be Rock to Highway to Hell is a great first listen. Brian Johnson great tunes are from Back in Black to Flick of the Switch. Don’t get me wrong, The Razors Edge is a masterpiece but not great first reaction material. Next time do “Up to My Neck in You”
Great that you include AC/DC 👍 If you are ever going to react to them again plz check out some of their older stuff before Brian Johnson, before "Back in black"
If one plays a guitar then it is easier to appreciate what is being heard [ how difficult it is} & at the same time he is dancing and running the entire time!It is massive a massive performance! Brian takes control of the audience & guides them. THe other guys are more than outstanding as well.
My favorite AC/DC song. The guitar riff is hypnotic . It's hard not to like this song. The audio mix is excellent , different things going on in the right channel , left channel something lost in most of today's music as people listen to music on mono bluetooth speakers. For you guys i have to commend you on excellent audio both from UA-cam and your mics . Lots of vloggers use cheap microphones and the audio on the videos are horrible.
One of my faves... But I loooove "Highway to Hell"... and "Hell's Bells"... and "Back In Black" and "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock and Roll)"... and "Moneytalks"... and "You Shook Me All Night Long"... and "Shoot to Thrill"... and "Who Made Who"... and "Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt Cheap" ... and "Jailbreak" ... and ...
The best Thunderstruck performace took place in Buenos Aires Argentina at River Plate Stadium, where the best crowd is, no smartphones, no photos, just enjoying and setting the show on fire 💣🔥✴🎸
Hello, seeing that you call yourselves rap teen and metal dad makes me wonder if either of you have heard Public Enemy's second album "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back" released in the late 80's. My brother and I always thought it has the same vibe as heavy metal, that is you get the same feeling listening to that album as you would from listening to heavy metal.
You used to be able to get a lot of videos from their unbelievable 2009 concert at River Plate, Argentina. But AC/DC are incredibly protective of their stuff and they had them all taken down. But there are a few 'official' versions of videos from that concert available, and they're still worth a look.
I'm a metalhead, but AC/DC always makes me pumped up. Angus is, as always, fantastic. I don't mind at all having AC/DC at a School of Metal. They were definitely an inspiration to a lot of bands. CoD!!
You still need to do Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars Live @Sonic Pump Studios :) I Will keep recommending this until you do it. :P It is such an amazing performance and probably one of the most complex pieces.
haha that was fun...i'm a dad that tries to share my era of music, the frontier days to today's music, to my kids. But their to "busy" to listen. so its nice to see father and daughter share each others genre. Since she's more about rap maybe take he back to the beginning and react to "Rappers Delight" ....
The Young brothers and Bob Scott were all from Scotland and emigrated at different times. The band formed in Australia, with Australians on bass (Mark Evans) and drums (Phil Rudd). Williams was fired and replaced for the album Powerage by Englishman Cliff Williams. That’s very simplified, but wanted to clarify that the majority of the band were not born in Australia.
It seems like there was a window from 80s to may as late as 2000s where well produced big budget music videos were directly translating to profit for studios. However they have slid back to being useful, but only if done on the cheap, similar to how they started.
Hello School of Metal. Today we have for you a soundtrack and scene from the animated feature titled Heavy Metal. This is one of the better none offensive versions on you tube from DrCr0wley. @Take a Ride - Don Felder, Heavy Metal Soundtrack.avi
Do the real AC/DC with the late late and most great original & raw rock’n’roller of all time... Mr. Bon Scott. I would very much suggest either “It’s A Long Way To The Top”, where the band is on the back of a flat bed truck that’s being driven thru the heart of good olé Melbourne in the good olé 70’s OR “If You Want Blood...”, with classic of Bon and the band live. 👍🤘
AC/DC's music has always been about partying! They've never gone down that serious in depth lyrics genre. Just listen to "Big Balls" or "Given the dog a bone" 😂 but they've stayed true to who they are and I respect them for that! Posers they are not! Straight up hard nose Rock-n-Roll and that's...AC/DC!!!
I know AC/DC are Australian, but in many ways they still are a European band at heart. Malcolm, Angus, Stevie and Bon Scott were all born in Scotland but relocated at early ages. Vocalist Bryan Johnson is from Newcastle, England. Current drummer, and drummer on this Chris Slade is from Wales. And so was original vocalist Dave Evans. Former bassist Cliff Williams & drummer Simon Wright are from England. Only natural born Aussies in the band were Phill Rudd and Mark Evans.
Small point to make, with the exception of Phil Rudd (on drums) the rest of the band (including Bonn Scott) were all born and raised in the UK, they returned to the UK early 70s to develop their sound, you may call it pedantic but it's Angus Young who points this out in interviews although he now lives and loves Australia.
🇦🇺🇦🇺Aussie here. The school boy outfit was a suggestion by Angus's sister. And remained right fro the outset of the band. True Rock🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Some more classics that influenced the genre: - Animals - House Of The Rising Sun - Deep Purple - Highway Star - Rainbow - Stargazer - Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It - Meatloaf - Paradise By The Dashboard Light - Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song - Motörhead - Ace Of Spades
When the band was formed Angus would come from straight from school to jam with the band . Once they hit the big time he was still wearing his school. Uniform. Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi xx
Thanks for checking out this video? So, is AC/DC hard rock or metal? What should we do next week for School of Metal?
sepultura - troops of doom
the first death metal band
www.deathmetal.org/news/5-albums-that-invented-death-metal/
AC/DC is old school Aussie hard rock, they are also contemporarys of Rose Tattoo (who were marketed as a bit badder and rougher) both bands came out at the same time during the high point of Aussie Hard Rock wave which swept across our nation(I'm an Aussie BTW) during the mid to late 70s and through the 80s and 90s who took the world by storm. I was more like expecting a continuation of the greats like Sabbath or Priest or Maiden or Rush
AC/DC is rock. They just play so hard, people confuse them with metal
I dont always listen to AC/DC, but when I do, so do my neighbors. I'm 62!
Same here, but my neighbours live 2 miles away.
My neighbours are miles away, we live on a 650Ha farm so they can't hear my music ....... so sorry for them, they will never know real music.
Lol...awesome
I am 52. Just love AC DC 😎
SAME HERE, WITHOUT EVEN KIDDING YOU!!!!!!!! LMAO!!!!
AC/DC The Best Band Rock of History
Her eyes when Brian started singing 😂
3:00 - Hahahah! I love her reaction when Angus starts dancing away! Priceless!
Cheers.
Mal was the heart and soul of the band. Dearly missed.
ACDC has always stated that they are rock n roll. But I've always thought of them as hard rock myself.
They are essentially a hard rock band but they always claim to be rock n roll but that’s not a bad thing. They are a pioneer of the hard rock genre
Crown Commando true but harder edged.
I agree!
I think of it as industrial strength rock n' roll.
Joseph Sandlin Tbh I prefer Live at Donnington 1991, but River Plate is really good too👍🏻
Logan Watson hey hey don’t forget “If You Want Blood You’ve Got It” the first live album from the band live in 1978.. that’s seriously a masterpiece of its own. But they are all great!
Scotty W yeah, that ones pretty great too
the most craziest concert from any genre ever
Live at Donington is far better than River Plate, the crowd is nice, but is meaningless compared to the performance.
AC/DC - For those about to rock (we salute you)
That is such an underrated and unknown song, but it's probably my favourite AC/DC song
Absolutely not unknown. They close every setlist with it. The cannons are iconic and synonymous with AC/DC.
I literally know just one person who knows that song, so I thought it wasn't well known. You hear TNT, Highway to Hell, Hells Bells and Thunderstruck on the radio, at sport events or in movies, but this?
So, well known to AC/DC fans but unknown to anyone else is what I meant
@Ariel Wainzinger really? I guess I'm doing something wrong, I've never heard it anywhere 😅
Still, would make for a cool reaction in my opinion.
underrated and unknown song? I know where your coming from, but COME ON!
"For those about to rock (we salute you)" is one of their most well known, most iconic songs *OF ALL TIME!* lol
Anyway, that WOULD make an AWESOME reaction video! I agree! :)
Her eyes when Brian begins to sing...😳.....😂😂🤘🏻 Rock on lil one!
Should've auditioned this track from the "live at River plate" concert, the crowd "bouncing in unison" is one of the modern wonders of the world😆🤘
One of my fav bands!! RIP Malcom Young and Bon Scott:(
AC/DC have always maintained that they are not a metal band, they play Rock n' Roll, hard driving Rock n' Roll.

3:01 - Her reaction is priceless!!
So love your reaction of this song, Love the ladies' reaction with the eye-opening reaction when the lead singer started singing the main part of the song. I grew up where this band originated from. Such a fantastic Australian band. Thank you
AC/DC are the kings of making simple, catchy pop riffs sound huge and exciting. Angus Young is a legend.
they arent pop
For us in Australia, the first songs most of us heard were songs lead by Bon Scott with songs like TNT, Dirty Deeds and others.
Awesome dad & daughter :) What a crazy cool song!
When I was young hard rock and heavy metal were the same thing.
Pretty much.
Its called entertainment. We went concerts to party with friends and forget about reality for awhile. You have no idea how fun these concerts were!!! We got to let loose and then be back at work Monday morning !!! That’s all that really matters. ☀️
When i'm listening to AC/DC, so are my neighbors
The greatest hard rock band ever. So sad what happened to Brian. I've loved them for 40 years. There'll never be another like them.
Check out live version in River Plate...when you see 200 000 people jumping to "You've been....thunderstruck"....man, that's something else.
I live 10 minutes away from where AC/DC formed
You guys should check out Amaranthe for Metal Maiden Monday. They combine metal and pop to make a sort of dance-metal. I'd recommend either Maximize, 365, Invincible, or Boomerang
The nexas by them is great
Please react to Nightwish "Romanticide". Just epic
I have no issue with you playing hard rock in, what's usually a metal segment on your channel. AC/DC are definitely hard rock but the vast majority of metalheads (even the metal snobs) like at least 1 AC/DC song

@@LurkngJay if it ain't broke don't fix it
even Metal Heads like at least 1 ZZ Top song as well.
I would suggest earlier ACDC when they had a different singer, Bon Scott (RIP) Let There Be Rock live Glasgow, or earlier Brian Johnson ACDC Hells Bells, a tribute song for Bon. Keep up the good work
"Long Way To The Top" with Bon Scott is a good one to react to for them.
Who Made Who was also an awesome song by AC/DC. It was featured in the movie Maximum Overdrive. There is even a scene in that movie where the band dies! The guys were all for being in the movie (playing themselves) and dying together! lol
The only band that can still get guys in their 60's to start head-banging and air guitaring in their cars!
A total get pumped song! My squad used to blast this in the barracks before a mission along with the Rocky theme and the theme the a team tv show!
i love ac/dc but i am 74 and i do wish some of the reactors would give more credit to Bon Scott he was the greatest but there are so many young ones that haven't enjoyed his singing, keep up the great work.💚🎸🔥.
Yeah, just about never see Bon era do you? I prefer it. Not that Brian's not good but Bon just had something else🙂
Sorry I am 65 but very much a Brian fan
When he is not making sure that kitchen floors all along the countryside are mopped spotless clean, he moonlights as the drummer for AC/DC
Roger Privratsky hahaha!
I heard that AC/DC recently released a new album. Don't know the name of it though. Great video. Juliette, I feel you are one the most articulate young women I've witnessed here on UA-cam.
Now young lady that's what you call music!!!!!! I think this is wonderful sir for bringing this wonderful music back to this young generation!!!!!!😀
I'm not an AC/DC fan, but when I die I want to kick open the hungry jaws of hell with Thunderstruck playing. This song is just too hype.
Jarl Trippin' Or hell’s bells?!
or Highway to Hell :-)
I wouldn't say I'm an AC/DC fan, but listening to this, you just can't resist it. You start tapping your foot and work yourself up from there until you are wildly swinging around banging your head. It's music you just cannot hate.
I,ll give it 110. Just like thry did
I’m a huge AC/DC fan. As big of a fan as the next guy but this is not a great first reaction song. Epic moment, 3:21 those beautiful eyes saying oh yes, that voice :)
This song was used in the movie Battle ship and was playing as they fired up the mothballed USS Missouri to take on the Alien invaders.
Great that you include AC/DC 👍
If you are ever going to react to them again plz check out some of their older stuff before Brian Johnson, before "Back in black"
I think for most Australians they'd heard a few ACDC songs before Thunderstruck. RIP Bon Scott & Malcolm Young.
AC/DC are GODFATHER's Of metal. They have been around Since 1973
Wm Gilliland they are rock n roll buddy
The Agonist - In Vertigo for the Metal Maidens. King Diamond - Sleepless Nights (Live from the Filmoe) for insane range.
Dad is like "Daughter. I love you so much, but please stop asking questions during this moment of greatness."
She needs to hear Axl Rose's vocals. Very unique and so much control in his screams. I think she would like Guns and Roses.
you have to go old school with Bonn Scott like sin city, what's next to the moon, kicked in the teeth again, the jack love your reactions
If one plays a guitar then it is easier to appreciate what is being heard [ how difficult it is} & at the same time he is dancing and running the entire time!It is massive a massive performance! Brian takes control of the audience & guides them. THe other guys are more than outstanding as well.

It is a classic rock tune, these guys know there shit, years of work, gotta respect that. I grew up with ac/dc, love em !
3:01 Her eyes when Angus did the Duck Walk! xD
The best Thunderstruck performace took place in Buenos Aires Argentina at River Plate Stadium, where the best crowd is, no smartphones, no photos, just enjoying and setting the show on fire 💣🔥✴🎸
I was listening to AC/DC a long time before Thunderstruck and I'm sure so were a multitude of other fans.
Angus Young is a simple but effective guitarist. Understatement of the millenia. He is widely recognised as one of the greatest guitarists ever.
The look on people's face when they hear the voice of Brian. He did his voice like that because he had to imitate Bon so the vocals would be similar.
Have you guys seen the bluegrass version by Steve 'n' Seagulls? I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.
SO 2019 "That looks like a fire hazard" FUNNY lol.....
You used to be able to get a lot of videos from their unbelievable 2009 concert at River Plate, Argentina. But AC/DC are incredibly protective of their stuff and they had them all taken down. “ I thinks the first song anyone heard by ac/dc”. ... were you born yesterday?
Derek Lucero mine was classic long way to the top driving with my dad in Australia
Angus Young= the MASTER of simple guitar riffs that you listen to once then hear them in your head for the rest of your life.
The intro to this song is just the best, introducing the layers one at a time. Big :D inducing.
haha that was fun...i'm a dad that tries to share my era of music, the frontier days to today's music, to my kids. But their to "busy" to listen. so its nice to see father and daughter share each others genre. Since she's more about rap maybe take he back to the beginning and react to "Rappers Delight" ....
"Thunderstruck" was actually directed by David Mallet. He was one of the most prolific directors of music videos in the 1980s.
The greatest Aussie band of all time! 😁 More than 200 million album sales worldwide! 😁 Back in Black has sold more than 50 million albums alone! 😁
The Young brothers and Bob Scott were all from Scotland and emigrated at different times. The band formed in Australia, with Australians on bass (Mark Evans) and drums (Phil Rudd). I played ACDC loud neighbors complained police came and had the neighbors arrested.

Interesting... I haven't seen very many (if any) father/daughter reaction videos like this.
Do the real AC/DC with the late late and most great original & raw rock’n’roller of all time... Mr. Bon Scott. "Fire Hazard"................ LUL @ all the aussies giving af haha
Fantastic song. Love ACDC would love to have seen them live. Next you should react to motionless in white either disguise, voices, or reincarnate
*My TOP 5 AC/DC -- Songs: "Highway To Hell" , "Hard As A Rock" , "You Shook Me All Night Long" , "Anything Goes" , "Thunderstruck".*
I know AC/DC are Australian, but in many ways they still are a European band at heart.

Only natural born Aussies in the band were Phill Rudd and Mark Evans.
Helloween have to be part of the school of metal some songs: Halloween, How many tears , Dr Stein, ....
Oh, she need to watch this live at River Plate!
You should react to live version "AC/DC (Paris 1979) [05]. Sin City" because, WOW!
My top 2 are Thunderstruck and Back In Black but I don't know in which order
His riffs are very hard to duplicate i have never heard anyone that can play them the same ever
If there's a "ChemicalReaction!" There is also "My Chemical Romance."
The Young brothers are born in Scotland.
Same with Bon Scott, and Brian Johnson (apparently).
@@KRS2000 of course.
Yes, but the band was born in Australia..
Some more classics that influenced the genre:
- Animals - House Of The Rising Sun
- Deep Purple - Highway Star
- Rainbow - Stargazer
- Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It
- Meatloaf - Paradise By The Dashboard Light
- Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song
- Motörhead - Ace Of Spades
Great reaction. AC/DC never disappoints. Definitely rock or hard rock but their influence is on those forms of music as well as metal is far reaching
They remind me of our party days when we were younger! Good times!
ACDC perfectly defined their style with their song High Voltage
React to Megadeth - Good mourning / Black friday. i really want to see you guys' perspectives on this
Thats only Video, in live concert this song is deadly, you have to be fit to survive the waves 🤟
I’m with a few other commenters, try Back in Black album for AC/DC. #2 best-selling album worldwide of all time.
Check out the Bon Scott days.
When the band was formed Angus would come from straight from school to jam with the band . Once they hit the big time he was still wearing his school. Uniform. Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi xx
