I became an AC/DC fan quite my accident. I was just scrolling on UA-cam and I heard the riff to Back in Black. It changed my life. AC/DC was the band that got me into hard rock and heavy metal. I now have all their albums and love every single one. Was long waiting for this video and it was worth it! For those about to rock we salute you…rock on Metal Dad!!!
AC/DC is awesome. My dad has saw them 8 times, 5 times for me. I went to my first AC/DC concert at 4 years old, we were front row and Angus kept pointing at me....I'll never forget that
Love the music and the playing but most of all I love how much this guy enjoys playing it comes through loud and clear. Much love from Wales, UK. Keep on rocking man!
As a kid me and friend up the street would give are bus driver the Acdc Back in black 8 track to play on way to school! But when Hells Bells track came on she would skip over it! 😂 lol. Was a great Christian lady bus driver. I seen her tapping her fingers as she drove us to school! Lol
Found your channel by accident. I’m a huge AC/DC fan. Born in the mid 70’s, they were and are as relevant as ever. I would like to see them live. Thanks for the great video.
great story and playing, you remind me of me, I started pub circuits when I was 12 years old, still play today, some 50 years later, I ended up a session musician, lifes been fun, i wouldnt change it for anything, Im sure you are the same, cheers form Australia, land of the skippies hehehehe
Thank you Metal Dad! I am 58 and TNT has always been my "go to" song when i want to rock! I buy and restore vintage stereo equipment for a hobby and nothing compares to a pioneer SX 1980 receiver connected to a pair of HPM 100 speakers! As a recording engineer, you know what dynamic range is all about! Thanks again for all the killer videos and stories 😀
Mal was in one of the best rock rhythm guitarists of all time IMO. Closely followed by EVH. Eddie had such a mega swing to his playing. But malcom is why AC/DC sounded so damn mean and intense. Angus was the reason I started playing in the first place, my appreciation of Malcolm was ingrained later on. Realising how tight he played and how much attitude he put into the songs. Deceptively simple sounding, incredibly hard to replicate! Keep rocking dude!! ✌️😎
I agree but alot of plp say that their music is easy to play but what they don't realize that Mal rhythm was very quick chord changing and the chords might be different after you go thru the first three chords...his strumming patterns would change in some of his songs...My dad got me to play guitar to his music like Kansas, REO, Led Zeppelin and many other bands but as I got older I discovered AC/DC and that kept me playing, now I own 11 guitars and the wife says nomore but I say hunny there are so many tunings and I need one for everyone...It worked so no more wife saying thats enuff plus flowers on Friday's makes it even better...Rock on Metal Dad your a great guitar player...
@@rickeymathis7672 100%! I think what people mean, is that their songs are objectively simple. Which is half true. They're simple in the sense that they figured out a formula for their sound. It's not based on over complicated chords and impossible riffs. However, playing it accurately, that's not so simple. Getting Mals rhythm exactly right, nailing the riffs like Angus, even nailing his vibrato, it takes more analysis than most give it. Pub bands tend to butcher AC/DC because they aren't identifying the minor details properly. It's harder to play accurately than people give it credit for.
@@SeagoGuitarist I totally agree...I've been playing for over 20 years now and if I don't practice AC/DC songs when I try to play them my timing is off so your truly right it's easier said than done when it comes between Mal and Angus and I've watched documentaries on Angus and he said that he still has to practice songs that they don't play much cause he forgets the rhythm...but he still jamming at 70 plus years old and still making albums...
AC/DC is the band that brought me into the hard rock genre. I was 10 years old and the first album I bought was Highway to Hell. Brian Johnson is a great singer but I’ll always be partial to early AC/DC and Bon Scott singing. In 1992 I had a great addition to my collection of AC/DC albums brought to me, it was a copy of the TNT album brought from Melbourne Australia. I had tried for years to get a copy but no record store could get it as it was only released in Australia.
even though i have all these songs on all the vids, just watching you play and enjoy it brings me back to when i was a teen when they first came out. although my teens were aerosmith, and the like back in the early 80's.
A cover band I was in back in the early 80s used to play tnt, bad boy boogie, whole lotta rosie, problem child, live wire, long way to the top, highway to hell, dog eat dog, as well of lots of devo songs. So long ago.
Wow! My band! 1974 at 11 bought my 1st Alice Cooper Album. Awesome. Same year bought my 1st Kiss album. Fantastic. 1980 I finally get my head right and purchase my 1st AC DC album. Fawwwwk... Found my home. Thanks man, really appreciate!
I always loved Let Me Put My Love Into You, that one goes hard and sounds so simple.. but it hits the spot. It's actually impossible for me to pick a favorite song or album from ACDC because they're just that good. Walk All Over You is another one that really does it for me
Great riff selection metal dad.grrat sound!!! I had quite an unusual introduction to AC/DC.it was around 1985 I think, and even though I heard of AC/DC.i never listened to any songs yet.then one night a family supper,my father has the evening news on with Peter jennings.and I heard about these serial killings in California,by a guy called the night stalker (aka. Richard Ramirez).then they were reporting that an AC/DC song was the cause for inspiration for Ramirez.the song being "night prowler" from highway to hell album.i remember after supper going to right that down in my notebook.i kept notes about all hard rock and heavy metal things to check out.about two days later, after school.i went down to my local five and dime record store and looked for highway to hell.and to my surprise, one copy left.so I grabbed my hard earned allowance and bought the record.then I went home and put the record on.i listened to night prowler first.yeah it was a cool song, but a little slow in tempo then I started to hear beating around the bush, get it hot, highway to hell..etc... And I was hooked from that day on AC/DC.then I bought a lot more of their albums in the coming months.just a little trip down memory lane.rock on metal dad !!¡!!!
10 months late but better late than never. Killin it my brother 💪👊 You didn't get my favorite... Money Talks. My opinion, one of the best tracks they released. That guitar solo hits hard!
Big fan of the channel I'm 59 born in 1963 just curious how old you are, and I remember all the ACDC albums thank you for bringing back old memories love your KISS videos the band that I saw probably the most I wish we could talk about all the concerts we've seen I've seen so many. The bands that I've seen the most would be KISS Van Halen OZZY Aerosmith and Judas Preist. Trivia Question for anyone, name the only 2 members of the band Runaways that were successful and here's a clue, they were both female.
I had forgotten how good the Back in Black album was until you played all those riffs. I know all those songs but I had forgotten most of them came from that one album. The only riff I didn't hear you do that I thought should be on the list is Highway to Hell but that's just one of my favorites to play because it's easy and I'm not as good as you.
Man, it was another time. I would love to go back to 80’s. Such a simpler time, no cell phones, no FB dramas, no internet, just awesome bands
I miss all that an old time Rock an Roll
If it weren't for the internet, you wouldn't be here 😂
AC/DC music is the soundtrack to my life. Excellent video, Metal Dad. Keep rockin'. Digging the channel 🤘
Thanks! Will do!
Highway to hell?
🤣😀

Welcome to the AC/DC family.
Thoroughly enjoyed that! I was lucky enough (and old enough!) to see AC/DC with Bon Scott play live, will never forget it 🎸
Flick of the Switch is not only the most underrated ac/dc album but underrated PERIOD!!!!!!!
AC/DC is awesome. My dad has saw them 8 times, 5 times for me. I went to my first AC/DC concert at 4 years old, we were front row and Angus kept pointing at me....I'll never forget that
You were so lucky!
I was born in 1966. You're playing all my favourites! I'd love to hear your top Black Sabbath riffs. Hard to nail it down to just ten.
Like Scorpions said once. "The Soundtrack Of Our Life Is Rock&Roll"... Been waiting for a video like this about AC/DC!
Love the music and the playing but most of all I love how much this guy enjoys playing it comes through loud and clear. Much love from Wales, UK. Keep on rocking man!

Love it! Medal dad,yes!!!
You and the Brady Bunch really nailed TNT
I've been listening to AC/DC since I was 5 and it's so awesome to see you playing these badass riffs! Good job, Metal Dad!
I really learned to play by ear listening to AC/DC. I found them in 1974-5ish bought album by mistake! But then loved it! Thanks

5:06 Sink the pink 👍👍👍 The intro Live It Up by Airbourne definitely used this riff 😂
Found your channel by accident. I’m a huge AC/DC fan. Born in the mid 70’s, they were and are as relevant as ever. I would like to see them live. Thanks for the great video.

T.N.T. reminds me of all the fun I had on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 when I was a little kid. Rock on, Metal Dad!🤘🎸

Awesome choice's, some of my favourite riffs to play are beating around the bush, riff raff and snowballed
Whow this was amazing - dont stop
100 percent agree with all 10. And Mutt Lange nailed it on Back and Black. It’s a masterpiece.

Do You smell the Canon Powder?
Metal Dad Socks in Hi Res! 😆
Great riffs! The room in the basement has very good resonance though? 🙂
Fly on the Wall has some of AC/DC's best guitar work ever but the really echoey sound on the album is hard to get past. But the riffs are SO GOOD
10 months late but better late than never. Killin it my brother 💪👊
You didn't get my favorite...
Money Talks. My opinion, one of the best tracks they released. That guitar solo hits hard!
"Sink the Pink" riff has a hint of The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again".
Absolutely!
Metal Dad - Thank you!
"Metal Dad" fucking rocks.
They were so unique !! ❤
Amazing. 🤘
My all time favorite riff is for those about to rock malcoms part of course something about that riff makes me think of my dad .
Great job MD. You don’t know Rock and Roll if you don’t like AC/DC. Because Rock and Roll ain’t noise pollution . 🤘
Great to hear also something else, not just the "usual suspects". Good job man👍
Glad you enjoyed it PL!
Your talent is remarkable! Love your videos!
Thank you Ralph!
"Metal Dad likes AC/DC and I know you do too" Aah he's right!
That sounds sick!!!!!!!
I Love AC/DC I have to say the Bon Scott years were probably their best music.

Merci métal dad!!!
You sir are badass !!!!!!
Great stuff!
Thanks!
All so of my favorites too! I can’t believe Thunderstruck and Highway to Hell didn’t make the list though 🤯
He did Thunderstruck at the end
You are so cool. And good guitar player😊
All I have to say is LET THERE BE ROCK!
My favorite to play off of Back In Black when it comes to riffology is Shake A Leg.
you forgot "Girls Got Rhythm"
I had forgotten how good the Back in Black album was until you played all those riffs. I know all those songs but I had forgotten most of them came from that one album. The only riff I didn't hear you do that I thought should be on the list is Highway to Hell but that's just one of my favorites to play because it's easy and I'm not as good as you.
I have the unofficial release of highway to hell album and all acdc CDs they are truly the most creative band out for rock music
Somebody needs to listen to Powerage….every riff is so great to play🤘
Acdc makes everyone rock
my favorite album is “let there be rock” and my second is “back in black”
We need to see Metal Dad with his 80's spandex and frosted mullet....:)
Rock on mate!!!!!
Me too I love AC/DC
Show!! Abraços do Brasil! 🇧🇷
