    Today's Scripture:
    (21) “You shall neither mistreat a [a]stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
    (22) “You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. (23) If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry; (24) and My wrath will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
    (25) “If you lend money to any of My people who are poor among you, you shall not be like a moneylender to him; you shall not charge him interest. (26) If you ever take your neighbor’s garment as a pledge, you shall return it to him before the sun goes down. (27) For that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What will he sleep in? And it will be that when he cries to Me, I will hear, for I am gracious.
    Reflect/Pray :
    How has God supplied your needs through others? Whose needs might you be able to supply?
    Heavenly Father, please open my eyes to the needs of others.

    The term "gigachad" is overused but Hannibal was truly one of the historical gigachads. Even before he crossed the Alps, the number of troops he lost was staggering. If there was any other commander of this army besides the other Greats in history, Hannibal's bat sh*t crazy plan probably would have failed. He's one of the few military minds in history that surpasses bat sh*t craziness into a viable plan of action.

    So about Hannibal vs Napoleon; Hannibal was basically the original Napoleon. Hannibal is (one of) the one(s) that inspired Julius Caesar, and Julius studied Hannibal quite a lot during his career rising through the military ranks, improving upon his strategies with the newer technology and tactics of his time. Meanwhile, Napoleon did the same thing to Julius. Some people say Julius wouldn’t have been the man he is known for today if it wasn’t for Hannibal, and the same is said about Napoleon, because history is our greatest teacher. So while Napoleon would likely win in a contest, they are harder to compare than just all that, aside from the fact that they both were military geniuses in their own rights learning from those that came before.

    23:12 "Why would you have elephants?"
    War elephants have been used numerous times through history as animals trained for war. They were very useful for charging the enemy with and breaking their ranks, crushing, maiming and impaling the enemy. They were powerful enough to carry many peoples on their backs including archers, who could take advantage of the elevated position. It also allowed commanders to better view the situation and command their forces. They were walking siege weapons and could serve as good pack animals too. The question here is why *wouldn't* you use elephants?

      The Romans had control of the seas. That's one reason Hannibal didn't receive much support from Carthage while in Italy.

    • @matijasostojic4288
      @matijasostojic4288 5 місяців тому

      Though i do have another question? What the hell Was happening on the seas? Like Carthage was still at war with Rome. It wasn't only Hanibal. So was every other battle just too small or something to be mentioned or was Carthage just losing so badly and Hanibal was the only one making any progress.
      Longus was called back from the sea to fight Hanibal so what was Carthage doing while Hanibal casually killed like 20 percent of the male population?

    • @InfoRome
      @InfoRome 5 місяців тому

      @matijasostojic4288 There was some naval involvement, in the coming years the Carthaginains tried to land in Etruria and Sardinia, but failed, they succeeded in Liguria but couldnt go much further. However, the Romans dominated the seas, they had a fleet of 250 ships, way more than Carthage. They took Malta and also the Balearic islands later on. They also captured Hannibal's main fleet in Spain. Romans also blockaded the Thyrrenean sea. Macedonian and Syracus navies were also involved later on in the war.

      Napoleon forced his enemies to conform to his superior army layout and tactics. He literally changed the way warfare was fought. He was so feared by his enemies that even after mimicking the corp system they still wouldn’t fight him in battle without overwhelming advantage.

      Napoleon, and unfortunately it really isn’t even that close. Napoleons enemies had no choice but to adopt the superior army system that Napoleon created to even stand a chance against him in battle. And even then, the coalition generals refused to attack him unless they had the overwhelming advantage. Napoleon revolutionized modern warfare and the corp system is still used to this day. No general in history changed the way wars were fought like Napoleon.

    Nxt time when making a reaction video atleast make an effort to do research regarding the topic so you don't just act like you only had education all the way to sixth grade. But that's just my opinion im not speaking for everyone else your comments were void and lacks any real thought only thinking about the current situation..... So yeah not really appealing.
