    Keith Baar is a professor at UC Davis and renowned tendon training researcher and expert. Over the last 15 years, Professor Baar has worked with elite athletes, as the scientific advisor to sports organizations including Chelsea Football Club, USA Track and Field and the Denver Broncos. Professor Baar’s Lab’s research interests are Muscle hypertrophy, Muscular endurance and Ligament engineering.

    Interesting. I was starting with my maximum weight to failure, then less, decreasing until I had had enough. On the other hand, at home, with bands, I just go to exhaustion and rest. Each time is different, but the work is done. Today, I did 10 pullups on my way out. Every little bit helps. At 73, I am happy to be able to

    Very helpful info for my training, thank you! I do think training effectively to increase lean muscle in the same time prevent injury is so vital in my age.

    between 20 vs 50 and like me, 70+, a massive 180 lbs
    EVERY rep counts, pre-exhaust sets, extended negatives, isometrics, unilateral work, carries,
    good form makes good form, mind-muscle connection is paramount
    when I see other gray beards going thru the 'ricochet / cheat rep' routine -
    reminds me of Bruce Lee: Absorb what is useful, reject what is useless, add what is essentially your own.”
