there's a serious need for india to look into faster production and induction of the modern weaponry as the global scenario is progressing rapidly to large scale conflicts and we are likely to be impacted the most given our cordial neighbourhood
I think if we could transform a prototype in to a combat ready jet (and we can) then we should make 8 to 10 prototype. Testing jaldi ho jayegi.

Hearing that since last decade that Prototypes will be out,HAL even unable to roll out Tejas MK1A which is just a systems upgrade with no structural changes.

we should develop one non stealthy prototype simultaneously with mk2 and test it by late 2025 or mid 2026 because we must have proven twin engine technology and gradually start its induction also to overcome the depleting strength
Earlier IA was russian centric and use to rely on russia for each & every equipment. Now russia has been replaced with US due to sanctions. I’m waiting when they will opt towards India centric policy.

Yep - that's why no Fixed wing or Rotary heavy lifters operate in thin air of 18K ft with little lift - otherwise Everest wouldn't be cluttered with tonnes of human debris + bodies....
DRDO, HAL and Army should induct new systems in faster pace during current Government. Otherwise during previous Govt there will be no fund for Army as it will go for free bus ride..free...free

Drdo kalyani tatas Larsen and toubro indian ordinance board all make worlds best tanks atags and all sorts of military equipments. We don't need to go anywhere. Everything is available in abundance for Indian needs and demands. No imports only exports.

How is the WhAP's performance in Kashmir any indicator of its performance in wartime ? Learnings from mechanized warfare in Ukraine trumps counterinsurgency ops experience. WhAPs will need electronic countermeasures and drone support to be more effective in combat vs peers.

The production for jaguar is over, also the spares available are limited. It will take time for IAF pilots to train on Tejas 1A for various roles & when the pilots are trained, then half of the Jaguar squadron will be retired, replaced by Tejas 1A, then the other half will be replaced accordingly. Jaguar is one of the plane that can fly very low for conducting strikes the ability of this very rare these days. Jaguar and Mirage 2000 are capable planes and pilots have lot of experience handling these (more than 2 decades at least) so the new pilots will be trained on Tejas, then put in the squadron, then the senior pilots will be trained on other planes maybe like Tejas or Rafale etc. Changing of planes in squadron does not happen overnight. Few years of training of flight simulator and real flight help the pilots to transit to new plane, slowly but surely.
when we are dreaming 10air craft carrier to build, weshould not worry about petty problems, we should greatful to this govt within 10 years we are developing our own air craft carrier, building tejas, mki mk2 amca and akash missles, drones , aand many armaments etc which was not possible upto 60 years.
How long will it take to build five prototypes of AMCA, we have been listening to these for a long time now and the government should now need to get involved and fast track the project.

Abrams shit. It is heavy and expensive and undergunned. Go for upgraded Arjun if army is fine with heavy tanks. Else T14 is best, would be in Army's weight category and has 125mm barrel which upgraded to 152mm

First T14 is in the making for long time. Agree with you on weight of Abrams. Arjun has lot of deficiencies with weight one of them. That is the reason we are not even replacing T72 with Arjun.
Russia is completely changing the t14 to make it suitable for new era of drones.

Apart from LCH, Government & Indian Army needs to fastrack order sanctioning and induction of Modern Artillery. The 307 ATAGS & 100 additional K9 Vajra need to be cleared at the earliest and signed this year.
Also, Army needs to complete induction of DRDO MANPADS & MP-ATGM by 2025 so that mass production can start.
The more we rely on indigenous weapons, the better it will be.

India can't afford such air craft because of huge operating cost and too stiff price for such a cargo aircraft. Additionally if modern stealth fighter is detected by advanced radars so will be the far less manuvarable stealth cargo aircraft with bigger radar cross section.

First Amca by 2035 or 40 when china fields around 1000 j20 and will be in process of developing 6th gen. In event of two front war , there's no need for china to invade , they can simply cripple our air force and air defences which will make invasion for pakistan much easier because it will have its air force intact which can help in CAS missions. Once indians are actively engaged in Kashmir, depending upon if pakistan is able to successfully invade or not china may invade north east tying up Indian army on two fronts without any air cover. Desert storm saw what complete air superiority can do and right now there's no response to j20 and upcoming j31 and there will be no response for another 15-20 years. In case of war we are surely going to lose immese amount of territory at worst or national pride and international humiliation in the best case scenario.

it is not that simple. First Pakistan economy is not in a position to wage a war. Second if China focus on western front, there is a huge threat for them in eastern front. So they cannot divert their majority jets to HImalayan where utility of jets are limited. We need to take Chinese threats seriously for sure
We’re going to get a$$ clapped by China in 20 years. If we can barely even even develop a decent tank or a 5th gen fighter. We take 30 years to procure 36 fighters, this is just a horrid system. Indian armed forces needs a complete overhaul of its procurement system.

Nor is there a critical analysis of manpower capability and Leadership given that supernormal resources will be need to be assigned. India should focus on some weapons that makes export potential and internally useful. Such as conventional subs with air indipendent system, stealth drones like Avenger from USA, guided long range pinaka like atacams etc... these weapons will make Indian military strong and less depends on government for military funds. But with one condition India should make these weapons independently so no country can interfere export.
