We should cancel the Naval jet tender and buy F 35B, rather than use F 35a in the IAF. This would be the optimal use of F 35s in India.

India should have straightaway gone for 24 F35B/35C for Navy instead of Rafale M as Navy already has MH60R and P8I, so sensor fusion could be achieved and Survivability enhanced. Price could have been in same ballpark. 36 F35A for IAF would be ideal instead of all the 4th gen MRCA aircraft. Survivability and Stealth prioritization seem to be very low and that would mean losing a lot many aircraft during conflict.

I like how back to back it's F35 block 4 for India, then Su-57 for India lol. What would be the point of getting the latter with only the RCS of the Rafale we have already if the F35 was on offer. Probably because the F35 isn't formally on offer and the Su-57 is still barely produced 10 years after induction, we've made more Tejas than that and it still hasn't flown with two of its AL-51 engines while the AL-41 gives it away completely on IR having not been designed for stealth. If the F35 was on offer that would give us the qualitative edge vs China though. Just rushing to the Su-57 and calling it a fifth gen capacity would be a mistake.

Here is the challenge. India needs 5th Gen fighter now to counter Chiba. Regardless how good or bad the dragon fighter is, there needs to be a counter. So what are the options - not China, not turkey kaan fighter, not korean k whatever d version as it is not ready. So inly two SU-57 which India doesn't like. Then US cant sell F-22 as there is a law against it. What is left in F35. At least if we have a few of them, then Until AMCA comes there is 5th gen fighter in the fleet. By the way when the time for AMCA comes ready to be inducted, 6th gen fighters will be here even in China.

Go for a long term contract and co-development with France with 100% ToT. Its the only reliable country when it comes to Defense in the west. All others are too unreliable and will try to blackmail or withdraw support which may put India in a precarious position during time of need.

Usa renaming it to block 4 probably thinking to sell it at cost of rafale-IV.
Why would not it quote that price it's stealth also if it can ask 100 million for a propeller drone, world is seeing India defense apparatus throwing money.
We paid 1 billion per regiment for s-400 biting dust by cheap ATACMS ,china paid same
We have prithvi non mobile but ATACMS is solid propellent, mobile, battle ready . China too has battlefield tactical missile like ATACMS dragonfly series.
Forget this f35 are comijg cheap.
Turkey did mega deal of 40 block-70 f16. Along with 80 kit upgrade to block 70 standard .
at 23 billion dollars ,they too threw money to repair relations .
We lost Good chance of mrfa to be concluded around 8 billion in 2010. Deal, then adjusted to inflation 15 billion then 20 billion in 2018.

It is a no brainier that IAF must buy F-35 block A to get some stealth balance which is missing in their thought process.
I sincerely feel at times that there are paid enemy agents among the planners and acquisitions department as they for decades have purposely played delay games for Indian Airforce acquisition of fighters and hence weakening our defence preparedness.
They know how fast Chinese are manufacturing fighters and yet these chaps in India are playing a blind game.
I hope the Indian intelligence agencies are monitoring these anti-nationals at the highest level.

@@MrUnknown38766 Because it is really the only fifth gen fighter produced and used in large numbers like 1000. Whereas only 12 Su57, 0 Su75 have been reported. China's fifth gen remains unknown. Automatically only crash reported of fifth gen you see is that of F35. But only 29 reported crashes of F35 and many of them during the F35 development. Thus it is now cheaper and much safer and only proven fifth gen fighter. But Su35 with a couple of crashes already is also a good fifth gen for India.
