The coffee truck looks amazing, can’t wait to see it in action. Estimating how long a job might take is almost impossible at times, you just have to hope some of them go to plan. I’m a landscaper and it never ceases to amaze me what can be hidden underground.
Superb video Matt, I’ve said it before “a good electrician should be able to turn his hand to almost anything” and you certainly can. Superb bit of fault finding on your lathe - I remember the smell of a burnt out coil - hot shellac smell. The finished coffee truck looked really cool. 😊
your a bloody legend mate love your work as always. been following along since just before the start of the mongrel build. been missing ya face good to see an update. coffee truck turned out wicked as.
Good bit of Fault finding on the Lathe. Labelling and a Photo will help with the next time something breaks😂 Personally wouldn't trust a contactor to used for safety. A PILZ relay or similar would be a better upgrade. It uses Two Solid State relays and are infallible. The Van looks really nicely built.
The new Colchester’s don’t have the safety brake but have a braked motor instead which due to the inertia of the Chuck and workpiece doesn’t stop it very satisfactorily at all. But that’s the new standard.
Excellent video Matt! Those tool holders are superb. I made a 'grinder tree' which holds 4 grinders plus all the ppe and disc swaps/tools/guards - the base was an old kerbed 10x6j white weller from my Mini. The tree also has 4 sockets and single fly lead extension to supply it. I got the idea from Project Binky 😆 My clamps etc are all in a filing cabinet, which has wheels on it - but I am tempted to wall mount a set now along with some grinders. It would save the 'sideways shuffle' around the car on occaision (I'm not lazy, just economical with my energy - honest!). I would suggest little condoms for the exposed airline connectors on the air tools, I use heater matrix hose with a bolt in the end - only because I've lost the little connector covers found on some hydrollic stuffs. Then again, your tools get used more than mine and my sandblaster seals are completely shot and cover the entire place in aluminium oxide powder lol. Coffee van looks amazeballs chap, very well done - I love those little kei style trucks - always wanted a Bedford Rascal version!
I always take a photo before disconnecting anything so I can reference it back after. Also there was a very good chance that old contactor could have been stripped down and contacts cleaned (unless the issue was the coil that failed?)
Hey Matt that new contactor works so well, it made the lathe spin faster! (Just kidding). Nice job on the coffee truck. It came out a treat. All the best, Mart in Solihull.
Glad you got your lathe fixed. Now imagine if your power supply was single phase and you had a static or rotary phase converter that makes your 3rd phase to diagnose as well !!! I like those wall mount brackets, they look sharp. Hope that guy parks the coffee truck to block the ulez van !!! HAHAHAHAHA
the relay is a latching relay , the power gets routed through the contact back at the relay and shutting off the power (by pressing a normally closed switch like the e stop ) interupts the power and releases the relay / opens up the relay contacts untill the normally open relay gets pressed and restores the contacts to the relay its verry ingenious but hard to explain , been rewiring a milling machine and have had so mush sleepless nights about it its burned intoo my brain ua-cam.com/video/NUvxBtBFimo/v-deo.html
Very old hat now. If you are rewiring a new Circuit, a Safety EStop Circuit should have Safety Relay ( eg PILZ). A Normal Contactor can fault Closed and can be Very Dangerous in an Emergency situation.

seeing a Colchester Student brings back memories .. Glad Matt was able to fix it ( relatively ) easily
The coffee box looks amazing. Well done. Congrats on finding the problem with the lathe. Thanks for the video.
Nice work. Always a bad feeling if your machine don’t work and the a great relief when you manage to fix it
I' can confirm that 3 phase shocks are 'fruity'😂.
Nice build on the Coffee Truck, and loved the wall equipment hanging system great job. Great how to on the lathe repair and good warning too.

The little coffee wagon looks very tidy indeed Matt as per your usual standards.

Wow!!….coffee truck work is OSSUM. Looks like you took your time on it and is a great showpiece for your abilities.👌
Nice job on all that alu work …. Thousands of rivets …. Your hands must hurt😂
There's machines for that!

Ideal size the coffee truck it’s mobility will help the owner get onto pitches bigger vehicles will not .
Top quality work again. A pleasure to watch..

Your student posher than my old round head. Nice work fixing it.
Very neat and accurate job on the coffee truck 👍👍

Great ideas with the hangers👍👍.
How many attempts did you have at throwing the broom?
That coffee truck box seems like a commercial product?
Proper job.
You're not trying to sell us those wall mounted air tool racks, vice grip/clamp racks and grinder racks are you Matt...🤔😏?
A lick of 240v can definitely 💀 you!

Just another example of these EndTimes.
