Fair review. Personally I had the original SE and now the @ SE. Biggest difference to me is confidence in signal strengh of ocusinc 2.0. Granted line of sight means that signal strength is kind of redundant, but it's nice to know that if anything negative occurs the back up of extra signal strength is there. As for video resolution....I get that 4k is better than 2,7k......but realistically an extra £200odd GBP is better in my pocket than the Mini 3 is worth to me (granted the Mini 2 spans the price gap, but personally \I prefer a newer released tech. The |mini 2 does have extra, but not enough for my money. So to me the choice is easy, either choose to save a lot of money and buy the Mini 2 SE or go for the Mini 3 Pro with the upgraded RC and shell out almost double the price. I'm guessing though that if you've not had a drone then you may as well go for the 2 SE for now, then once your hooked on the hobby, sell the 2 SE and buy the 3 Pro. ......OR if you've more money then sense just go straight Mini 3 Pro. Hi Dan, I am in England, and found your review very helpful as I am about to buy my first drone. I was fortunate to meet a guy on holiday who gave me a few minutes tuition on the dji 2, wow, how simple was that for a 74 year old! I live close to a large docks, and want to capture photos rather than video, of ships on the move, and your review has convinced me to go for the 2SE. I regularly contribute my photos to a shipping magazine here in the UK, they mostly print photos about 4x2 inches, so this seems a bit wasteful as I have a top end Canon DSLR, so I reckon the 2SE photos should be great for this size. Your stills at the start of your review are very sharp, and convinces me this is the way to go. Should I use a filter as most shots will be over water? Thanks Dan. From Phil, in England
Hey Phil, thanks for the comment! This drone should do the job for stills, the Mini 3 or Mini 3 Pro have 48MP still options which is another level up but the Mini 2 SE can still do a decent job. Filters can definitely help over water. If you need anymore help then check out my drone course: www.fearlessdrone.academy
Fabulous x2 post! I’m considering helping my brother to get into the drone flying business. Wanting to start him off with a lower cost, with plenty features so he can learn, and decide if it’s for him or not. Great job with this! Simple, down to Earth and Honest opinions we need! Thank You! ✌️
I would recommend the Mini 3 for the improved camera and battery life. They also recently added 48MP photo support to the Mini 3. You can also use Litchi or Dronelink to unlock waypoints and follow me modes once the Mini 3 Series receives full SDK support. If you’re based in Australia then I have some awesome drone deals available for my audience through the D1 Store. You can also use the code DANSTUBE on their website to save some money!
Thank you so much for your videos. I'm glad I come across them they are extremely helpful and oh my goodness the views that you record are breathtaking
Hi there,Could u pls tell me whether I should buy the DJI mini 2 or mini 2 se,I am a beginner(I do know basic flying tho) but this will be my first DJI drone.I do know that the main difference is the camera but is 4K really usable practically in terms of storage or quality? And is there a major difference in repair costs between the two because it has a better camera and a led at the front if it matters? Pls tell me this I would really appreciate it!
You are correct, the main difference is the 4K camera. The file sizes will be larger and the quality is better on the Mini 2. The Mini 2 has been discontinued so it might be hard to get your hands on. The Mini 2 SE is going to be supported for longer but you are missing out on the 4K video quality. I would suggest the Mini 2: amzn.to/4aLJRXp
The Mini 2 SE doesn't have ocusync right? That's my biggest concern. Even with the high quality products that DJI creates, my worst nightmare is losing connectivity because of some fluke error that occurs. That being said, what was your experience like with connectivity? If I get one I plan to fly it in more urban areas with a lot of interference.
Connectivity and range have never been an issue for the Mini 2 SE. I have been impressed. My drone course would help you overcome your fears: linktr.ee/danstubetv
just got a used Mavic mini a couple of days ago for $200 and honestly for a $600 difference their is no way I'd pay that much for the same thing just re branded. If anything I'd invest in the mini 3 pro.
How to register where to register? I live in pakistan and I hope u might know something but I keep travelling around the world so is it allowed to carry everywhere and use it in other countries?
You should be able to the take the drone with you as a carry on and I would suggest looking at the aviation site for Pakistan. It will be a government site.
Mini 2 can capture 4K and Mini 2 SE can capture 2.7K. I have some awesome deals on drones, they are exclusively available for my subscribers: www.d1store.com.au/mobile/category/danstube
Great video, very informative. I'm very unimpressed with the Mini 2 SE - The drone is fantastic but the camera is essentially mid-tier logitech webcam quality. Decent photos but terrible video quality
I lost my DJI Mini SE drone. It fell into a lake after a bird strike. I've been wondering, is it possible to use a Mini 2 SE with a Mini SE controller?

Please, help! :) or buy the mavic 3 classic?😂 I do a lot of shoots in the city for weddings.

Thanks for these tips! Help me decideeeee :) I'm considering buying my first dji drone and I'm confused. Considering that I want to spend the less possible (I will use it for leisure) but that I also would like to have a "good" drone, I am undecided between the dji mini 3 (drone only) and the dji mini 2 SE "fly more" (with three batteries), which are close in price in Italy. Which do you think would be better to buy? The choice would be between more battery and more camera quality.. maybe I should consider to buy the basic mini 3 + an additional battery in order to spend less but still have more battery?
Hey mate! I would suggest getting the Mini 3 + an additional battery. It is well worth the upgrade from the Mini 2 SE to the Mini 3. If you need anymore help once you get your drone then my drone course has got you covered: www.fearlessdrone.academy 🚀

Great review Dan. But, is DJI just trying to flog off old chassis. If you look at the front the light bar from the mini 2 has been removed so I wonder if it’s old mini SE chassis with mini 2 internals. IMHO, (and I know it doesn’t count for much in the bigger picture), but I feel that if DJI wanted “steal” the new beginner’s market with a mini drone they should have reduced the price of the mini 2 instead of doing an Apple to offload unused chassis
I thought I recognised that scenery, it's the Birkdale and Wellington Point area! I have thought about a cheaper drone with slightly better picture quality than the sub-$100 drones I've looked at. This one might be worth considering.
Definitely, this could be a great starting point. I would suggest this drone to most beginners. You can use the code DANSTUBE on www.d1store.com.au/ to save some money or you can check out my exclusive drone bundles for subscribers here: www.d1store.com.au/mobile/category/danstube
I live in Norway, they have prices the Mini 2 SE same price as the Mini 2..... they are both for 600$ flymore combo... Dont know who would buy the SE 2 over a Mini 2.... no 4k vs 4k video...
i dont understand this, i got a mini 2 se and ive seen people get up to 5km easily and i cant go past 200m and at about 150 the bars go yellow and i just randomly lose connection, I fly in the uk but still this range is outrageous. Can anyone help me on this?
That is weird, have you made sure that you’re not flying near anything that might be blocking your signal? Have you flown in different locations and had the same results?
You say beginner too much I think. I don't consider myself a beginner but I mostly fly FPV drones. Whoops and such. Through the house about the neighborhood in and around things. This drone interests me as an expansion of what I do. This would be laid back cruising high and picturesque video. Go a mile or two if I dare. So I don't need instructions how to fly as a beginner but I would like to know if the cord to the phone has a long accessory version so I can put the phone in a VR goggle and fly it FPV style as I'm use to and that also eliminates the hard to see screen in bright sun as well. Keeps it immersive which is the biggest appeal of FPV style drone flying. Is there a sport mode that makes it more maneuverable in tight conditions if desired though that's not a primary use since I have other models for that. I doubt it has looping or rolling ability.
You can get longer cables, you can also enable sports mode and FPV mode. This could be an awesome drone for your kit! I have an epic drone bundle here that might work for you: www.d1store.com.au/mobile/packages/dji-mini-2-se-subcribers-bundle I also have a drone course for people starting out with DJI drones. Thanks for the video. Nice job as always. I have owned a Mini SE for about 10 months now. I really enjoy it and like the fact that it works with Litchi. Have you tried using the Mini 2 SE with Litchi yet? If it works with Litchi I may upgrade to the Mini 2 SE for the Ocusync transmission technology.
I haven’t tested this yet. I don’t believe that it would be compatible though. I would suggest going for the Mini 2 or Mini 3, the Mini 2 SE isn’t much of an upgrade.
Thank you sir for your information, I’ve been using DJI mini se for almost 2 years but for your info I think i will upgrade because of the remote and raw photo

Dont think they will. I think the standard Mini 3 is the "SE" version. Basically a watered down version of the Mini 3 Pro just like the Mini 2 SE is to the Mini 2. They released the Mini 3 Pro and then later the Mini 3.
Great job. Well done review, although i would have to say the DJI MINI 2 Has been a top seller for DJI for many years and i doubt if they will ever take it off the market. Fly safe, Keep up the good work.

You nailed it my friend, this drone was made for me - the beginner who has never owned a drone before and sure won’t be my last. I think when naming it DJI have put the “2” in the wrong place. This is a Mini SE 2. Not a Mini 2 SE. The way they have named it makes it sound like an upgrade over the mini 2. Whereas it’s actually just a refreshed mini SE.

The Mini 2 does come with the RC-N1 controller. The Mini SE does not.
Very good video Dan can you fly these in Sydney area as just about all of it is NFZ Ive ordered one and hope I can do it here.
You can request access to no fly zones through the app. You should be able to fly in most areas with a sub 250g drone. You can also use the code DANSTUBE on the D1 Store when purchasing future drones and accessories to save some money.
I also created the ultimate drone course for beginners, check it out: www.fearlessdrone.academy
Was that wello point in the vid
Yes 🙌☀️
Will this drone follow you if walking of boating, etc
No, it does not offer any following modes.
Fabulous x2 post! I’m considering helping my brother to get into the drone flying business. Wanting to start him off with a lower cost, with plenty features so he can learn, and decide if it’s for him or not. Great job with this! Simple, down to Earth and Honest opinions we need! Thank You! ✌️
Of course! No worries at all, thanks for watching, I would love to connect with you on my other socials: linktr.ee/danstubetv
In the UK the mini 2 se is £309 and for the fly more combo is £400 or more
It is a decent drone. Would this be your first drone?
Mini 2 SE with fly more combo OR mini 3 with RC N1 controller ?
I would recommend the Mini 3 for the improved camera and battery life. They also recently added 48MP photo support to the Mini 3. You can also use Litchi or Dronelink to unlock waypoints and follow me modes once the Mini 3 Series receives full SDK support.
If you’re based in Australia then I have some awesome drone deals available for my audience through the D1 Store. You can also use the code DANSTUBE on their website to save some money!
Ocusync is all you had to say . Perfect first drone
Agreed! I have an awesome deal on this drone right now: www.d1store.com.au/mobile/packages/dji-mini-2-se-subcribers-bundle
if you buy the drone does it come with a battery charger or do I have to buy the fly more set??
You will need the Fly More Combo for the charging hub.
Thank you so much for your videos. I'm glad I come across them they are extremely helpful and oh my goodness the views that you record are breathtaking
Awww! Thank you for the nice comment, I appreciate it 🙌
which is better the dji mini 2 se or the fimi x8 se 2022 v2 ?
I haven’t used the Fimi x8 so I can’t comment. The Mini 2 SE is a great beginner drone 🚀
You are right, mini 2 and mini se is out of sale now.
Yeah, the Mini 2 SE is still a good option.
Mini 2 se has ocusync
Nice videos,, i want ask, can that drone survive/still at High wind condition? Cause i see u fly on the sea...
Yes! It can handle strong winds with ease 💨
Thanks for all your information. We just bought one to add to our youtube videos
That’s great! I’m glad that I could help 🤝
just got a used Mavic mini a couple of days ago for $200 and honestly for a $600 difference their is no way I'd pay that much for the same thing just re branded. If anything I'd invest in the mini 3 pro.
Yes, you do make a good point!
Mini 3 pro is $900. For that price might as well get a air 2s.
How to register where to register? I live in pakistan and I hope u might know something but I keep travelling around the world so is it allowed to carry everywhere and use it in other countries?
You should be able to the take the drone with you as a carry on and I would suggest looking at the aviation site for Pakistan. It will be a government site.
At the end of the day it's price, for my use. I have the Mini 2 and i only ever film in 1080p, good enough for my videos.
Yes, that will do the job 💪
Hey bro. Could you tell me which drone has better video detail. Mini 2 or mini 2 SE please reply.
Mini 2 can capture 4K and Mini 2 SE can capture 2.7K. I have some awesome deals on drones, they are exclusively available for my subscribers: www.d1store.com.au/mobile/category/danstube
Hi Dan. Does MINI 2 SE can achieve follow-me mode and active track trough third party apps? :) Btw, great video. :)
No, not yet. Hopefully in the future 🤞 Thanks for watching and commenting 💬
Great video, very informative.
I'm very unimpressed with the Mini 2 SE - The drone is fantastic but the camera is essentially mid-tier logitech webcam quality.
Decent photos but terrible video quality
Interesting perspective, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I have more drone resources, deals and insights here: linktr.ee/danstubetv
Hey Dan any word if the mini 2 se will have litchie support ?
Nothing yet.
I lost my DJI Mini SE drone. It fell into a lake after a bird strike. I've been wondering, is it possible to use a Mini 2 SE with a Mini SE controller?
That’s unfortunate 😔 I don’t believe that you can use the older controller design.
Im soooo excited, mine is supposed to arrive Thursday! 😁😁😄
That is really exciting. If this is your first drone then check out my drone course, I have designed it from the ground up for beginners. It has all of my knowledge, resources and tips in a self paced course: www.fearlessdrone.academy
@@DansTubeTV its not really my first, i have like 3 cheap drones and this will be my first dji drone
That’s exciting, it is a completely different experience. If you are interested in learning more with my drone course then you can use the code DANSTUBE to save some money.
@@DansTubeTV welp, i canceled the order, and instead I’ve decided in the mini 3 (not pro)
The Mini 3 is a great drone. You will love it, let me know how your first flight goes? ✈️
first i want to buy dji mini 2 because of 4k resolution vid but this mini 2 se is good even it is only 2.7k resolution vid its good for budget money
It certainly is a good deal! Check out my exclusive subscriber combos, you can even get a unique Mini 2 SE combo: www.d1store.com.au/mobile/category/danstube
I bought new Dji mini 2 se my first flight I lost the drone and never found it because I did not update the home point before flying and it was very windy
Ohhhh, that’s not good! What are you going to do?
Thanks for the video! I just sold my mini 2 and remain with the mavic 2 pro.
I will order the avata and I’m debating between selling my mavic 2 pro and buy 1 mavic 3 pro, or keep my 2 pro where I have 3 batteries and all the acc? What to do? Please, help! :) or buy the mavic 3 classic?😂 I do a lot of shoots in the city for weddings.
I honestly think that the Mavic 2 Pro and the Mini 3 Pro would be the best combo. If you’re based in Australia, I have some exclusive drone combos for subscribers: www.d1store.com.au/mobile/category/danstube
Thanks for these tips! Help me decideeeee :)
I'm considering buying my first dji drone and I'm confused.
Amazing drone, it just arrived today and I am having a blast flying it around my local park 😂
That’s awesome! If you want to learn everything about your drone and get the most out of it then check out my drone course: www.fearlessdrone.academy 🚀 (Use code DANSTUBE to save 10%).
Mini SE and Mini 2 are listed as supported by Dronelink. Is this mini 2 SE also supported?
I don’t believe so, not yet anyway.
Yes, this is a very weird move. I would prefer to see a new beginner drone or lower the price of the Mini 2.
Can the Mini 2 SE take photos in RAW format? Thank you
Yes! 📸 🙌
I'm in the USA and I can't find the dji mini 2 se anywhere. But the Dji mini 3 is available.
You can buy the Mini 2 SE here: www.d1store.com.au/mobile/packages/dji-mini-2-se-subcribers-bundle
im more about HD aerial shots. should i get filters for this? even tho this only hase 2.7k or 1080p
Filters are always a good bet, no harm in trying them 👌
copy
@@DansTubeTV but have you tried yours?
I’ve used filters with other drones, not with the Mini 2 SE though.
Looks like they slapped on the SE sticker on Mini 2 and downgrade the features which are all software based.
At least we have a cheaper Mini 2 now 😂
Yes, that’s right. Although this drone now does not have 4K so it is more of an SE upgrade than a Mini 2 alternative.
❤Thanks for sharing the review, i am a beginer in using the drone👍💕
No worries! I have developed a drone course to help beginners. Check it out: linktr.ee/danstubetv
I live in Norway, they have prices the Mini 2 SE same price as the Mini 2..... they are both for 600$ flymore combo... Dont know who would buy the SE 2 over a Mini 2....
no 4k vs 4k video...
The Mini 2 is the one to get 👌
Sir hi I too have dji mini 2 se plz help in changing of 15mtrs altitude please sir
Make sure that you’ve logged into your DJI account. That will remove the 15M restriction.
i dont understand this, i got a mini 2 se and ive seen people get up to 5km easily and i cant go past 200m and at about 150 the bars go yellow and i just randomly lose connection, I fly in the uk but still this range is outrageous. Can anyone help me on this?
That is weird, have you made sure that you’re not flying near anything that might be blocking your signal? Have you flown in different locations and had the same results?
I have bought my DJI mini 2 se 12 days ago. I’m new to drones but I have flown 1.5 km away. I still had full signal strength.
Nice one! I have some drone resources here that might help you: linktr.ee/danstubetv
What is different of mini 2 than min 2 se
You can compare the drones here: www.d1store.com.au/mobile/category/danstube
I have an epic drone bundle here that might work for you: www.d1store.com.au/mobile/packages/dji-mini-2-se-subcribers-bundle
I also have a drone course for people starting out with DJI drones. It could be a nice addition: www.fearlessdrone.academy
Mini 2 SE don't work with Litchi. No sdk for the mini 2 se. I wait and see if they release a sdk for the mini 2 se.
Thank you sir for your information, I’ve been using DJI mini se for almost 2 years but for your info I think i will upgrade because of the remote and raw photo
Awesome, thanks for watching. Check out my drone bundles here: www.d1store.com.au/mobile/category/danstube
You can use the code DANSTUBE to save some money if you are purchasing from their online store.
It would probably be better to upgrade to the Mini 2 for the 4K footage
i have the original mini fly more combo, and im also gonna upgrade to the mini 2 se :) ... even tho i kind of am downgrading with the number of batteries etc
I got my mini 2SE for 200$ new in that box from a client at my job wanting to sell
I love it
That’s awesome! What a deal 💰 If you need anymore guidance, resources or insights then my drone course has got you covered: www.fearlessdrone.academy 🚀
Is this quiet to do surveillance? I have some suspicious activity by my house that I want to see what’s going on. I need one that’s quiet.
It is relatively quiet. You would have to fly 30M+ high to avoid it being obvious.
@@DansTubeTV thanks for getting back to me 😊
I am waiting for mini 3 se.
Great review
Dont think they will.
I think the standard Mini 3 is the "SE" version. Basically a watered down version of the Mini 3 Pro just like the Mini 2 SE is to the Mini 2. They released the Mini 3 Pro and then later the Mini 3.
Hey mate. And what is official price from Dji store ? Can’t find it
$799 AUD for the Fly More Combo: www.d1store.com.au/mobile/products/dji-mini-2-se-combo

Great job. Well done review, although i would have to say the DJI MINI 2 Has been a top seller for DJI for many years and i doubt if they will ever take it off the market. Fly safe, Keep up the good work.
Good point, they might remove the Mini SE as the Mini 2 SE technically replaces it.
Yup! I have some awesome drone bundles available for subscribers as well, if you or someone you know wants a drone - definitely go here first: www.d1store.com.au/mobile/category/danstube
Do you shoot raw photos and use Lightroom? What cameraraw are you using?
I don’t use Lightroom and I normally shoot RAW + JPEG.
Hi there. Storing the battery fully charged in the drone? Are there any issues with this?
No, you just don’t want to let your batteries discharge completely. Keep them charged and stored in a cool dry place.
It not being compatible with Litchi app was a big disappointment to me. If I would have known that, I wouldn't have bought it. My original mini se with the litchi app was way more capable, versatile and fun.
Yes, good point. I was disappointed as well.
Does this have 60fps. Thanks.
60fps in 1080p but only 30fps in 2.7K.
Just got this drone as my first ever drone. Watched this video about two times now, will probably watch it again soon just because I liked the review. Will be flying it tomorrow :DD. Great content!

How is it's night footage in comparison to mini 2 and mini 1 ?
I don’t record at night so I can’t comment on that. It is illegal to fly at night if you do not have approval.
Is it also supported by Dronelink?
Not yet. I don’t believe.
Your pricing is way higher than Amazon

I can understand that, what are you going to get? 🤔
They should sack the marketing guy at dji it took videos like this and many hours to work out what the differences are especially if you include the original mavic mini in that as well....Honestly I don't care about any of the differences because they are so small apart from the occusync.
Agreed, this was a confusing release.
You nailed it my friend, this drone was made for me - the beginner who has never owned a drone before and sure won’t be my last.

does it has forced RTH feature in case something goes wrong and we click a button and aircraft starts coming back?
It will auto RTH if the battery is getting low or if the signal is lost.
@@DansTubeTV so we can not do RTH ourselves?
Yes, you can also press the RTH button on the control. I prefer to just fly my drone back.
@@DansTubeTV yes definitely thats the best to fly urself but sometimes uav is away from lineof sight and it gets a bit difficult for starter to see at screen and navigate to home....for emergency purposes only

this MINI 2 SE does RAW PHOTOS? are you sure?

I think when naming it DJI have put the “2” in the wrong place. This is a Mini SE 2. Not a Mini 2 SE. The way they have named it makes it sound like an upgrade over the mini 2. Whereas it’s actually just a refreshed mini SE.
Exactly right, they should have called it the Mini SE 2 ✅
Watered-down mini 2 .
