These numbers are outdated, the software engineers pay is 25% higher now fresh out of college at JS. Quant traders/researchers make 20% higher on average than software engineers fresh out of college. So yea $500-700k is not abnormal starting in JS

Not remotely true for JS. Standard working hours are 8-6, traders are more limited to market hours ofc. Quants are not bankers, they have very reasonable hours. The work at JS however is much more intellectually demanding than at most other roles. You should actually talk to people who work there before making these assumptions

425k for PhD or future PhD student. They don't hire undergraduate. Its around the pay of plastic surgeon or other types of higher doctors.
