    I broke his score in my first attempt. Gave three tries , first attempt : 82, second attempt : 84 and third attempt : 90. Can you please share some resources for market making questions in Quant Interviews? For example, in Optiver, I have heard that they ask questions such as make a market on the number of Eiffel Towers required to reach from Earth to Moon, number of corner kicks in FIFA World Cup 2018, so how to calculate the expected values of these quantities without having any prior knowledge about them?

    Is there no programming involved at all ? Since you have to make mathematical models, aren't you expected to devise those models with some financial knowledge + programming abiliites.

    • @merkonerko2
      @merkonerko2 2 роки тому +3

      In reading about the way the industry works and talking to some people who are in it, my understanding is that the traders aren’t usually making the actual theoretical models themselves, I believe that’s what the quant analysts do, and then you have the quant developers actually building the software to implement the analysts’ models. My understanding is that the traders will need to know how to code so they can test models and variations of models, maybe pull data etc. most of the job ads I’ve seen for entry level quant traders will look for knowledge of Python and maybe SQL but I doubt you’d be expected to actually develop the models, develop them in C++/C# and then implement them on the exchange all on your own. But I could be wrong, like I said I’m not in the industry (yet) but from what I’ve learned and from the online assessments I’ve done so far, there hasn’t been any programming

      I'm not Worthan but from what I gather it seems like if you have cs, math background it is the most common but they also definitely take people from other backgrounds as well. However it does seem like knowing how to code makes your life after working a lot easier and profitable too.

      I'd say use trading view, once you find a stock and go to the chart. Click on the replay button in the top right and you can go back in the past on a stock and replay how that stock was trading either a few days, weeks, months or years ago. Then I say use TraderSync to journal your trade strategy and it's success rate.

My education is in mathematics and economics, but I have struggled with probability, linear algebra and other math subjects for years.
