Hello Mike. Dalton, Ga native here. I wanted to get hired by CSX or NS and work through or near my hometown, but I couldn’t get on. However, BNSF hired me on and promoted me to engineer after some time. I enjoyed it, but it never felt quite right since I could not work near home. Thanks for the uploads! Though I can’t work the rails in this beautiful part of the country, it’s nice to see what it would be like. Thank you for the great footage! God bless!
What’s up man! Just wanna say thank you for everything. I actually watched ur channel growing up and happened to stumble across it just now. Brings back many memories, have a good night n happy fishing.
Well done video Mike👏🏻🥂 I always used to love trains as a kid and I even got to drive one under supervision at the age of 10! But life threw me into a different direction and now I’m in the music industry!!
My favorite handsome engine ever, loco about mikes loco videos!! Great views from the cab, things people would never see. I love the sound of a trains horn, esp at night, something about a train!! Cmon mike, borrow a loco and take me for a ride, love the "iron horse"
Hi, I'm glad to see your video))). I'm from Kazakhstan myself, I work on the railway like you. We operate American diesel locomotives and are very satisfied with it😁
Excellent video, I really like that you take the time to share this type of content for your audience, good luck and blessings in what you do, greetings from Mexico🇲🇽
Mike! I’ve been watching train videos for a while - great to see you! How encouraging! I will catch up and watch them all! Hope I get to see you in the New York City area!
Hey man great video I used to watch you a lot when I was a little younger and seeing your train videos and I would always comment on them saying how great they were, I wanted to check in on your channel because it has been at least 2 years since ive been on here. Anyways im just saying hello and checking in on you man. Hopefully all is well for you and your family! P.S Miss the train videos!
Hoosier Rail, I was a conductor for CSX between Nashville and Chattanooga for 8 years, and I would have to say the strangest thing I ever saw while going down the tracks was a man completely naked standing right beside the track "pleasuring" himself as we passed by...hard to get that image out of my head, lol. :)
I have a question mike on GE locos especially the evolution series when ever you press and release the horn there is a pshhhh sound do you know what that might be
Hello Mike! We really love your videos! We have a question about the railway! When you start the train the locomotives 3,4,5 locomotive how would you start working on each other or at the same time thank you for your answer! JOE from Hungary!
Hey I’m trying to work for csx and I wanna be a locomotive engineer and I was trying to see if you have to go to school for it or you have to come to you guys cause I’m really trying to work for y’all?
I hired on with CSX as a conductor out of Nashville back in 2006, and on the first few trips I made out on the road after I marked up, I brought my video camera with me and made a few videos while going down the tracks and posted them to my UA-cam channel. Very bad idea...not too long afterwards I got a call from the road foreman of engines and one of my trainmasters on that subdivision telling me that if I didn't immediately take down the videos I had posted, I would be looking at some pretty serious charges and possibly getting fired. I never did find out exactly what rules they say I violated, or how management found out about the videos in the first place, but I have a feeling one of my engineers reported me, not really sure why he would do that, but I learned my lesson not to bring my camera to work anymore, lol.
Newer locos are more have better sound resistant cabs GE engines are usually quiet anyway but EMD have loud engines so they basically have to have sound resistant cabs
Mike - I am a train driver here in Australia, I watch your videos and notice that you use some heavy applications on the Independent brake whilst rolling along, It is frowned upon here where I work, as it deemed a high risk of skidding the locomotives wheels, if we were caught doing it by a senior driver trainer, we would get a "please explain". So I am curious, is it frowned upon with your company? I am just curious as to the different methods of driving from around the world. Thanks for posting your videos, they are great to watch
Anybody know what the letters and numbers are on the title of Mike's videos? Are they the train designation marks? Letters standing for departure and destination points? And numbers standing for???
Mr. Barnett I have a question. How come modern trains don't have cow catchers like the old time steam engines had? What was the reason they stopped adding them?
Every-time when mike post a video u already know it’s gonna be good😎🚂

Well this is a new perspective! I’ve always wanted to see what’s in the train.
I love trains! I hear them all the time at my house!
I’m a bit jealous. I wish I could film my subdivisions/routes, but instead, it’s just Jeep trails. Glad CSX isn’t as strict as my employer tho.
That engine is UP 4943 a Sd70m Nice unit!

Hi Mike,
We really enjoy your engineer videos!
Are you going to make any more train videos or did you retire from the railroad?
Huge fan of CSX
Guys, if you’re wondering what kind of locomotive he’s in one of CSX is rebuilt SD70Mac renamed as a SD70ac
Somebody buy this man a 360º camera and stick it up on the roof of that engine.
Yo what’s up?! How’s your 2021 been?
Just wondering what train do u drive?
How long was this total trip?
I see trains pass by house everyday in syracuse and i also seen norfolk csx amtrak and susquehanna
Good video! I enjoyed it!
that looks like a fun job
Dang I wish I can be just like you!
Mr. Barnett, what's the strangest thing you have seen in your travels on the CSX? Thanks for another great video!

You ever operated an Alco?
Is the SD70M your favorite loco?
I have a question mike on GE locos especially the evolution series when ever you press and release the horn there is a pshhhh sound do you know what that might be
Probably the air that blows the horn
Since you have been working for the railroad for a while have you ever encountered an emergency? Cool Video!
Another question about the dynamic brake slowing down the rear locomotives first? Thanks for the answer! JOE
I’m gonna ask a quick question would you work for Metra
Hello Mike! We really love your videos! We have a question about the railway! When you start the train the locomotives 3,4,5 locomotive how would you start working on each other or at the same time thank you for your answer! JOE from Hungary!

Mike You Ever Drove The CSX To Baltimore Maryland Washington DC Area ? ..
It’s the csx
I think he has in the past
Hey. Ive started to watch your channel engineer Mike. Im considering joining CSX as a conductor. Any advice? Thanks from Davis in Atlanta
Mike did you come back out of retirement?

You ever run north of Nashville on the Henderson Sub? I live beside the tracks in Robards, KY.
Hello sir what's Locomotive do u use in your job
What's up w/ the two stops? I didn't see a red signal, and no meet.
It's about safety
Do you ride with the same conductor or crew every trip?
Have the railroads done anything about loud horn noise for the crews?
Besides ear plugs.
Newer locos are more have better sound resistant cabs GE engines are usually quiet anyway but EMD have loud engines so they basically have to have sound resistant cabs

Awesome video as always! Was that a CSX engine you were in?

Early lol. Nice video Mike!
Do you be going on the tracks through Houston?
hey mike i have question what the rarest train you got to drive ?
Circus train 🚆
Is the horn on a train automated or was it under the control of the conductor?
It’s under the control of the engineer but on some locos it’s engineer and the conductor usually the Engineer tho
Do you have to be a conductor before becoming an engineer, or are those two separate paths?
Yes. Conductor first then engineer.
Been slowly creeping away from the train scene, I made a mistake.
Mais vídeos para nós!!!!!!
Anybody know what the letters and numbers are on the title of Mike's videos?
Are they the train designation marks?
Letters standing for departure and destination points?

They are train IDs.
Hi, i read somewhere CSX only had 20 SD70s in their roster.
That is a Union Pacific locomotive they're in.
20 SD70ACe's. Now sold off. SD70MAC's, still have many.
Mr. Barnett I have a question. How come modern trains don't have cow catchers like the old time steam engines had? What was the reason they stopped adding them?
They still have them. They just aren’t so noticable
Is it easy to become an engineer Mike? I'm trying to do this as my job. Looking for any advice
