Yup, I know the XM5s are out now ;) This video was created before they were fully unveiled. Rest assured I'll be reviewing them soon... but what do you think to these alternative brands? Has anything caught your eye?
I believe Drop Panda also uses the joystick 🕹 control
How do the XM3s compare to this lot? They can be found new for a similar price to the modular headphones.
Enduro maybe, but the hissing you spoke about when they is no noise is kinda annoying.

I think the "budget" category is relative to ones...budget. Can't lie despite folks clowning Raycon earbuds and headphones I like em. Part of the reason I gave them a try was price after discount codes. I was in the market for headphones right before going on vacay, and earbuds coming off of vacay last yr. They made sense at the time for me and have served me well

Very interesting review. I have the Cleer Enduro ANC and Enduro 100 which are some of the best wireless headphones I have used to date (currently using the ANC plugged in as Monitors). Those AIAIAI are a dream in terms of design and concept of replacing parts for longevity. Would like to know if you have tested the Ankbit E600Pro? More plastic build, very comfy cushions and sound is similar to the Cleer Enduro 100 but not as detailed. Also weird they use clicky buttons and have the old school bluetoot connection beep and red/blue pairing mode lights. Thx and would like to see more comparisons!!

So my everyday Bluetooth headphones are starting to fall apart, so I ended up on the hunt for a replacement. I spent very little on them and, in fact, it was my second pair. I did a Google search for best budget headphones, and the Cleer one, which I never heard of before, ended up being something that hits some spots for me, especially for the fact that I could pay in installments. Then I wanted to see a UA-cam review, which I usually do before buying, not after. And who would I have suspected having a show-and-chat about it than you! Well, knowing you've given them good marks, I'm excited to have them in a couple of days. And thank you too for confirming how good musically it sounds. Done and done!
Do you have it now? Which series and how does it fare?
Marshall cans have the joystick control in Gold to boot. Mixed reviews on the sound quality, love to hear your take on them.

They're great!
I bought a pair of earphones of Amazon. 24.99 but gone down to 20. Witkid i17 and they are the best earphones I have owned. Great sound, comfort fit, small bud, loud! And close out other sounds. The case has digital battery to see. Compared to others I have, and I use earphone, headphones all the time, these are great.
If you put the volume up will other be able to hear your music?
@@Chrystal_A Not sure, I think it's compact, that others cannot hear. I check when they are loud and leave it of my ear, I think they are fine. Great earphones.
I just bought the Cleer headphones. They died after about three weeks. Initially, I thought they would be good. But, as I used them I became disappointed for several reasons as sound and touch controls that kept annoyingly and unintentionally kept changing my settings. Based on my limited experience, I would not recommend Cleer. As I watch this review; I am trying to find their replacement. I have had an inexpensive Sennheiser for the last four years. They still work as good as the day I took them out of the box. But, quality of sound has gotten better. And, I am now willing to spend a little more money. But, there are at least six competing models. to chose from. I am leaning toward the Sony XM5 because I use them nearly every day while watching my Sony TV. Does it make any chance at all that a Sony headphones would sound better with Bluetooth on a Sony TV??? I doubt it, but I love to get input from someone that knows.
The Cleer Alpha has a flat response so on Bluetooth you'll need to EQ them to your liking. They are at their best and substantially so when you use them via AUX. There is where the sound quality is ridiculously good. Dirac is way too "V" shaped for my liking but really nice for older music where there are hard panned instruments and voices but it's way too aggressive on the bass for action movies. Also the earcups are magnetic and replaceable. ANC is decent. It can tame the background hum, fans and has very good isolation but has no sub-bass ANC what-so-ever.
With eq any of these can compete and even beat the more expensive ones xm4, xm5, airpods max etc. But these would lack better noise cancellation, ambient, mics etc

What microphone do you use?
Can the enduros fit in a alpha or xm4 case? Also how does the noise canceling compare to the xm4?
Mike, absolutely, they will fit in our Alpha case without issue.

XM5s or XM4s if I am in the market for new headphones?
Yeah the Soundcore signature sound has way too much bass, especially with ANC on, and they give us a bass-up mode which is ridiculous, the bass just overpowers everything else. At least the Q35 have app support, can be EQed to reduce the bass, my Q20 don’t so I was stuck with the stock sound.
The sony's are basscannons. Even with Eq I cant get them tuned nicely. I prefer the bass stocktuning of the q45. And the q45 can be EQed very wel.

Q35 are so much better than SonoFlow. Sound was so muted and couldnt get any more power out of em even eq'd all the way up

Loved the reviews but 230€ are not even close to "kind of in the budget range" 😅😅
I have the soundcore, the headband broke very quickly and they won't replace the headphones they just gave me a 20% refund. And the problem is with the design/quality of the headband. Very cheap plastic. I will avoid them.

Testing headphones that have built-in equalizers without equalizing them and making a conclusion on their sound quality is really weird, it's really typical of an Apple user, actually.

For Cleer Enduro buyers: Hold on!
I just bought one, and just realized, in contrast with the XM4, the Enduro doesn't connect on NFC only!!!!!!!!! You have to turn on the headphones and then use the NFC!!!! What???? At this point the NFC feature is completely useless...
Slightly taken aback at the start of your video I have to say - reading the the word 'BUDGET' (in capitals no less) I assumed the starting price would be (in UK money) sort of under a £100 - sort of £49 to £99 tops. Typed this after the first minute and a half so maybe the choices are lower than your 'Clear' option at $149 (just over £120) Back to the video :-)

@@stanwillemse3853 not offending me at all, but I think you might be taking this too literally 😉 The point of this brand is to provide actionable advice for people who don’t care about benchmark results. That doesn’t make those who _do_ care about them ‘abnormal’ (obviously).
Plenty of good real budget headsets for less than $75...many less than $50. A headphone without an Aux input not needing battery power is a non-starter for me.
Tom sawyer is also a good headphone tester
