Chasten and his husband are so well spoken and articulate. They're incredible. If Pete runs again, I wouldn't mind having the first gay POTUS and the 'FIRST' First Gentleman be the husband of that gay POTUS.

I love listening to Pete and chasten Buttigieg speak. They are both such gentle spirits with a very intelligent way of looking at things. I hope to see somebody like Pete Buttigieg become president someday.
And also strong spirits, who withstand the venom directed against them, continue to demonstrate their values, call out hypocrisy, and never resort to inflammatory statements.
Pete would be a WONDERFUL PRESIDENT! And Chasten would make an amazing first lady😄!
Both are highly intelligent and incredibly calm - which counts in these tumultuous times. They both have a sense of humor (a sign of intelligence, among other things), and both are very confident, which makes them resilient.
Overall, they are one of the most evenly matched couples on the current American political scene.

He would be at a super optimal age for the job; his kids would already be in first-grade school, and I hope the overall political situation would favor him (especially from the demographic viewpoint).

And I trust him to choose a great vice for himself/country too.

As a parent of a lesbian child, I want to thank Chasten for writing this book. To this day, my republican christian family does not believe me when I tell them she was "born that way" and there is nothing wrong with her. I will be voting blue for the first time in my life. I even changed my identification to "independent" because the GOP is toxic now. My daughter is amazing and it's obscene how judgemental these "christians" are.
Ever heard Brandi Carlyle’s story of her evangelical upbringing…and how she was humiliated the day she was to be baptized. Oh they let her believe all the way to the alter….and rejected her. Her and her wife’s daughter’s name is Evangeline. Mothers Day is next week…I listen to her ode to mothers every year. Finest mom song ever.
I also was raised christian and left the church when they attacked vulnerable people, different religions, and different cultures. I've been free of all that for over ten years...yay me 😅
I am grateful to my parents for not indoctrinating me with nonsense.... not that it would have worked. My wife is 71 and she still has some deep-seated fears as a residue of her parents' preachings.

Pete and his partner's activity is none of my business. Buttigieg appears happy, well-adjusted, bright and competent. If that's what being 'gay' does for a person, then I'm for it.

Speaking of being selfish, as much as I empathize with Chasten and totally get his desire to escape Washington so he and Pete can just devote themselves to family, right now, I cannot think of a better person than Pete Buttigieg as our president, and Chasten would make an fantastic First Husband. Both of them are smart, compassionate, articulate, SOLID people of good character and intent. I felt strongly back in 2004, when I saw him deliver the keynote speech at the Democratic Party Convention, that Obama HAD to become our president. I feel the same way about Pete. He HAS to become our president. Both Obama and Buttigieg are extraordinary people in the best ways possible.
As a non-American, Pete was my pick for president in 2020 and was so excited when he won in Iowa and came a close second in New Hampshire. It's said that he could never win the black vote - I hope all people see Pete for who he _actually_ is and not what they _think_ he is because of one little three-letter word.
I had the exact same feelings about Obama and Buttigieg. They are both so good at speaking for us. And I would love a military veteran presidential candidate.
I absolutely agree 100%! Since I first heard of Pete, I have pushed for him to to become President. There is not a single attribute of either Pete or Chasten that I don't see as a plus as a First Family and President. I am disappointed that he will most likely not run in 24 if V.P. Harris runs. As much as I would like to see a female president, I desperately believe that there is no one in this country who could match the abilities and personal attributes of Pete with Chasten behind him!!!

My only concern, really, is the reality that though there's a great deal less homophobia and a great more acceptance of LGBTQ+ people in this country, there is a goodly chunk of people who are homophobic. Having said that, a lot of people told me that Obama was unlikely to win because of his race, but I didn't think that back in the 2006 - 2008 period because he was just so on the money as far as his ideas and vision was concerned, and he was highly articulate, not to mention charismatic and funny. And at the time, I'd lived in L.A. pretty much my entire life and didn't think prejudice was what it once was.
But once Obama was elected and the racists came out of the woodwork, I realized just how much prejudice and bigotry there still was, and how naïve I was to have thought otherwise. And ever since Trump began running in 2014, the rise of hatred towards anyone who isn't white, male and Christian has further blossomed. Race and antisemitism-based mass shootings have risen dramatically, women's healthcare choices have been reversed or at least significantly curtailed, and the LGBTQ+ community is under siege, particularly the trans community. On top of that, African-Americans have traditionally been less accepting of gay people, et al, and they represent a sizeable and crucial block of Democratic voters. If they're not so hot on having Pete be president because of his sexual orientation and aren't motivated to go out and vote, that's going to be a HUGE problem. So TBCH, I am a little unnerved by all that. That said, the majority of people in this country DON'T have issues with matters gay, and Pete is a truly outstanding person of exceptional character, so it's not like I have no hope. I do. It's just a bit more weary and tempered than it was when Obama first ran.
Ditto. Maybe the knot would leave my stomach. I’m an old lady and I’m distraught that I will die in a very different country than I was born into. Pete Buttigieg as president would restore my hope.

In 2001, when my son told me he felt he was bisexual, my heart broke. Not because of the news. Because the world is such a sh!t place for anyone whose difference can be seen. Here it is, 2023, and things have only gotten worse. I'm glad our family is strong, close and loving and has been able to withstand all the noise.
Have things only gotten worse? I think it's awesome we can have an interview with the husband of an openly gay senior Executive Branch official and Colorado has the first openly gay Governor in America. Homosexuality was illegal in England and Wales until 1967, illegal in Scotland until 1980, and illegal in Isle of Man until 2011. I see progress and things getting better but we do have a huge way to go still.
I understand, when my daughter came out, at 14, I sobbed. Not because of her coming out, I already knew, but because I would not be able to protect her from the world she would face. She just turned 35 and I'm still a momma bear. 🌈
When my daughter came out, I did a happy dance, because I am less afraid of homophobia than I am of toxic masculinity. The things my daughter tells me about the boys her age *scare* me.
Similar with my 15 year old daughter. It's simply a part of who they are, not all of what they are.

Chasten and his spouse possess exceptional articulation and eloquence. They are truly remarkable. Should Pete decide to pursue another presidential campaign, I would welcome the chance of having the first openly gay President of the United States, with his husband serving as the First Gentleman.

There is no" individual liberty" if the government can dictate the most personal and consequential decisions people need to make.

I sit in the UK watching with trepidation what the US is becoming . Not an enemy, half my family is American, but afraid for the future. If all our politicians modeled their behavior and communication style looking at the complexities of issues to come up with real solutions, then our country wouldn’t be so angry and exhausted!
Chasten is SUCH a good guy. Hang in there, buddy. It is SO difficult being the stay-at-home parent, but the effort is 100% worth it.
It seems like Chasten is a smart, kind, optimistic man who is comfortable in his own skin. I really hope all of these horrible attacks never extinguish the positive outlook he has on the life and society. I hope he continues to speak to young people because what he is doing will really help them & help society as a whole. Young people will be the path to a better future for all of us. ♥️
In response to MTG’s comment about stepmoms not being “real moms”, I have a theory. I think Marge is feeling very insecure about the possibility that her ex might actually find a partner that is not batshit crazy, and will actually become a great parent to her children. The same applies to her comments about the country needing a divorce. Seems like everyone for her lately is projection of all her own personal drama.
Yes, odd how she is now so loudly going after Pornhub, when her marriage broke up because of her affair with a tantric sex guru (among others). Fortunately, her husband has custody of their children.

On the adoption question, the family values party, said nothing when MTG made the comments.
Let’s take that adoption question and overlay the abortion discussion, one one would assume they would want the children to be adopted if the mother was a minor who got pregnant a as a result of rape and was not able to raise that child. How does MTG and republicans think that works if adoptive parents are not real parents.

That's because they make no sense. I was adopted and no one better ever tell me that they weren't my real parents.

I could listen to Chasten all day. I have always really liked Pete, now, having seen his husband, I’m so impressed with this couple. They must be amazing parents and are giving their children a wonderful childhood. ❤
