Sincerity is missing in a lot of sources but not here. 💙😍
''What's the play here ?'' section was absolute gold !
Absolutely!!! True joy watching Seth trying to break it down, this is Seth's domain. I can't think of any other host who could have sold it, it would have been tongue in cheek with everyone else, truly a unique Seth piece. This should really become a recurring segment when they can. Jackal approved!
agree 100%! It was especially great because other folks have already been running those clips, and still Seth finds a way to put a fresh take on it. Hilarious!
The fact that he has to go into this deep discovery is what's so bizzare about our current situation. Like I still can't believe this is the reality we all share. I would believe I was going crazy.

Well I just came from the Faux channel and they are apoplectic. They're calling for Lara Trump to be the VP. They're losing their minds. I love it!! 💙
The political high I got on May 31, 2024 equals the high of August 8, 1974.
He literally just blamed all his supporters for what he said I'm telling you this man takes no blame or responsibility or accountability for anything
Narcissists can't. They are perfect. They play the victim card.
That's harsh. Seth's just trying to run a comedy show
Narcissistic sociopaths can never admit mistakes or lose. They should never be allowed outside the nut house.
He has NEVER EVER been held accountable in his life for ANY wrong-doing ... so just wait for the Supreme Court to continue that trend! If The Supreme Court indeed overturns this unanimous conviction by the Jury, then the "rule of law" will truly be in crisis!

For Corrections: Why is it that a felon can’t vote, but a felon can run for office?
Because the Constitution. It sets out the disqualifications for the presidency, which are age, birth in US, & not being an insurrectionist. It doesn’t preclude felons.
And SCOTUS decided that the insurrection provision should not apply.
The solution is to elect pro-democracy people & pass a federal law that disqualifies felons.
Ya America
Also, in New York, if you are not incarcerated, felons are allowed to vote
@@meganm1074failing that, an exectuctive order
The founders seem to have believed that the overwhelming majority of Americans were much more likely to ride a scoundrel out of town on a rail than to support them for government office.

Seth had stopped doing the old thing for awhile but maybe he feels like he needs to jump on the bandwagon because he was off for two weeks?
I wish they all would do more of the dark Brandon and start hyping up what a bad ass Kamala is - remember her during the Kavanagh hearings? If anything happens to Biden she's the one that would take over so they need to see strength there too. They need to start pushing that narrative hard or there is gonna be a problem for the whole world.
I kind of agree, but also remember it's a comedy show & that's pretty much the only thing they can find to make jokes about. Remember when we all wished the president of the US was boring??!!
@@gmun2248 Dark Brandon has skin of steel. I doubt it really bothers him. In fact he's been using it. Look at how he reacted to that 'reporters question'. Mo Dak Brandon!
@@gmun2248 Absolutely! I know that's the only thing they can joke about but when the other side is going with the narrative that he's a fossil with dementia that craps his pants on the daily maybe the writers need to joke about how boring of a president he is or try to make him cool instead of giving their stupid argument oxygen. If this were normal times sure, make all the old jokes in the world but this is the darkest timeline soooo...lol
This was done tastefully & tactfully - nothing worse than a light joke some people might even make about their loved ones.
I agree with you in general - especially because the waters ahead are so unpredictable & perilous - but I think this kind of ribbing is also about the fact that this show is a social commentary & always has been. Our memories of the pre Trump late night shows are so long gone that we don't remember how much crap these guys gave Obama (again, tastefully & tactfully) & every other POTUS since late night started.
It's a fine line & I understand your impulse to say that - I think a big part of me agrees with you that even these jokes could be dangerous - but then a bigger part of me remembers that we should maintain the authenticity of our beloved institutions (and late night as far as I'm concerned is absolutely an institution) despite the temptation to become completely defined as the opposition - when the role of the institution in society remains necessary, social commentary as a whole should continue & ribbing on POTUS with some cheap shots here & there is part of late night canon lol.
Don't let America become the kind of country our founding fathers fought to escape

As a convicted felon… how many countries can Trump no longer visit? Also, I thought being a felon means you cant work in the WH? How can he still be in the running to be run the country??
There’s a long list online. But Israel, Canada, Japan are 3 of them.
Newsweek has an article on that. Quick answer is almost every country except Russia
I'm not a constitutional scholar so take this with a grain of salt. There's a better than equal chance I'm totally off the mark.
As far as I can tell there's actually no provision, either in the constitution or codified elsewhere in law, that prevents... basically anyone from running for President of the United States of America, as long as they're a native-born American citizen. The reason the 'insurrection' thing is such a big deal is because under what we're currently referring to casually as 'the insurrection act', a provision which was hastily thrown together after the Civil War to stop Confederate military and political leaders from being elected to office after the War, an 'insurrectionist' may not hold any office of government; this is why Trump's team has been arguing that President is not an 'office' of the United States.
However, as far as I can tell, there is no de jure prohibition on running for President as long as you meet the basic condition of being a native-born American Citizen, as the founding fathers naively presumed that anyone elected President would be a man of merit, integrity, and competence, and that this (or its lack thereof) would be obvious to the voters. There are de facto prohibitions on running for President, like the billions needed to fund a Presidential campaign, but very few de jure prohibitions.
This probably has some rabbit holes to go down regarding things like whether a convicted and incarcerated felon has the right to run for office, and whether the necessity to engage in a campaign without interference would override a court-imposed jail sentence, but that's way out of my pay grade in terms of my understanding what America is pleased to call its legal and political systems.
Being president "trumps" everything else. i.e. he can and must still receive security briefings--not that he ever cared much about them the first time.
Because being president does not mean you have to do any work at all, see DJT's last spell there.
That slow turn by Biden actually drew out the drama of the moment - like a real actor like De Niro - and that drawn up smile showed total disdain and contempt. Well played, Mr. President, well played.

Squinting angry pouting
Seth and Colbert need to coordinate breaks. Two weeks without both of you is too rough! those who got in *AWT79X* were right tho
So it happened, okay
This is the future guys, it begins right now
What is it?
Strong move for the next days if you know it
Thank you so much for letting us know it actually helps my family in crucial times
I don't normally join in with the jackals here but I hope this reaches whosever idea it was for the current closing outro cause you got me. You genuinely got me. I knew you made it, but I forgot cause you were gone for 2 weeks. Good job!
