I'm fed up with the M32. My Scale, Arp, Browser and Plugin buttons won't light up and i can't use the single key chord function which is something i absolutely need as i'm not really good on the keyboards. I don't need the portability of the M32 so I'm getting rid of it for the Arturia Keylab Essential. It's a little pricier but it's much more intuitive to use and i think it's worth the extra bucks.
The Automation you did at 3:15 doesn’t work with the Maschine software. Maschine will only let me record automation if I’m automating straight on the computer but not from my knobs. Any idea why?
Ive watched several of these reviews on the MK1 and MK2 and I cannot for the life of me see those lights do ANYTHING in chord or scale mode. It just doesn't look like the lights change nor does their appear to be any helpful pattern in those lights. I was really hoping for that feature to improve on this model. Can we get lights that actually contrast with each other so we can see what we are supposedly looking at....? Anybody that owns this able to confirm that in person it is actually helpful...?
Hi Zack, I can confirm the lights are good and the brightness can also be adjusted via the controller. The lights just appear quite dim in the video :)
what if I want to define the individual notes of a scale say a scale in Indian music ? btw there are over150 scales Carnatic and Hindustani styles combined... the modes and pentatonic in western are a fraction of what is available on the keyboard. any new update on the NI keyboard/software ?
Hey. Using the scale function, does your route note light up more than the others? Mine does but ever so slightly, I feel it could be stronger. I'm wondering if I have a defective unit or if that's normal?
Correct, these performance functions can’t be recorded as far as I can tell after several days of research. Some of these functions mimic Logic’s MIDI FX which can be recorded (uses external MIDI option in Logic, not an intuitive process).
NI could do so much with the light guide, there isn’t even chord recognition. All they are interested in is selling samples, it’s like selling jigsaws to artists. An expensive dumb keyboard with little resale value.
I agree with others, your video is terrible to view, also how about slowing down your comments when you explain something??? Are you on a time limit when you do videos.

Do you have to use software for this or will it work in for studio?

In videos, the lights look dim but in person they are beaming with only bus power.

Will these midi notes from chord mode get recorded into Logic? I’ve heard Logic doesn’t record midi notes due to AU or something like that.
