    Honestly this is the only channel we (as amateur/weekend golfers) should watch, the clarity you bring and how you ‘de-bunk’ the confusion around most of the concepts and show us what’s really happening is priceless and second to none.
    For years I’ve misunderstood concepts and what I should be doing… you guys are single-handedly changing how I understand the swing and what I should be doing

    I came to this video after hearing you mention it in your most recent shallowing video. Through you are basically saying the same thing in both videos regarding the downswing, it was SOOO much clearer to me in the swallowing video due to the reseting technology and isolating of individual body parts. Just wanted to reiterate how awesome I think that type of explanation is.

    These 4 drills are absolutely amazing. Especially the blender drill, as this one is the only drill I have found that forces me to rotate, or else I won't hit the ball. It has almost eliminated my block right or hooks left due to the arms overtaking my body.

    Great vid, as always. I’ve been working on the arms down a and rotate piece. I took it to the course today and got a lot of fat shots. I’m assuming it‘a because of me not pushing up from my left leg to pull the club through impact I.e, I probably too low at the point of impact. Does that logic make sense? Or is it a simple case of timing, and I just need to be patient for the move to be ‘grooved’ so to speak? I want to get these moves as feel like it will be an unlocking of my swing moment, and help get me to sub 10hcp (11.3 at present). I’ve identified approach play as my biggest weakness compared to 10hcap (using shotscope) last year.

    I really have a stall in my body rotation. From where I was bringing my hands, I have to stall and stand up a little. Only thing I can do from there is flip. I have worked on early extension drills throughout my 12 years of playing and seemed to play better when I forget about it. Well… when you move your arms and hands like I do, and force yourself to “keep that butt on the wall” as every coach I’ve ever had has said, you’re lucky to even make contact with the ball. This is the problem with the 2d swing video swing plane swing analysis. It’s just not looking at what matters. You guys are the best!

    I must sound like a broken record, but you guys have made even practicing golf fun again. Question regarding the backswing, I lay the club off slightly in the backswing, after watching this video, I started making some swings with that Nike Swoosh idea. The problem is let’s just say my physical flexibility has been ignored lately 🫤and I am having trouble getting the club to point towards the target without over swinging the arms past my turn. Am I getting a concept wrong or is it the flexibility issue causing the problem? On another note, those videos on lag and the Rory and Adam Scott swings have totally improved my contact, swing speed, and just overall look. Sometimes I will struggle to get into a good delivery position. If I am releasing my lag properly and have a proper arm swing I am gathering it is a pivot issue causing the problem? Thanks again gentlemen. Carry on!

    • @AthleticMotionGolf
      @AthleticMotionGolf  Рік тому +1

      We love broken records 😊
      Not everyone will have the swing length to complete the swoosh, not a problem at all. So if your pivot isn't quite getting you there, you'll still be making the same underlying move just not as much. A pivot issue could very well be the cause to your last question👍

    Hi guys, great stuff. However, for (1), the distance from the wall measured by one club head seems to not be applicable universally. At least for me with 6.4 height, if I do this properly and then let the club fall from being held at a horizontal position away from body by just bending the hips to find the proper distance to the ball (and then bending the knees slightly), I feel my center of weight to be massively shifted towards the toes, really too much to feel to be in a dynamic position for a good swing. The clubs are fitted to my height properly b.t.w.. So, how strict is this measurement to the wall or is there any other way to find the proper distance regardless of height and individual proportion?

  • @mangoman2148
    @mangoman2148 Рік тому +3

    Does that 41 inches of clubhead depth change depending on the length of club? I've been practicing it with a 7 iron but wondering whether it should be different for drivers and wedges. It's a great drill by the way, turns out I'd been picking the club up way outside the wall then smashing through it during transition. My 'feel' for now is ripping the club inside on the takeaway and crossing the line at the top, but that puts me on the recommended plane.

    • @AthleticMotionGolf
      @AthleticMotionGolf  Рік тому +2

    Gentlemen, when looking at your lpga pro, she had her right arm tighter to her body at the top. I see teachers instruct differently on this aspect. Would you prefer the elbow tighter to the body or more away? The goal should be to have the upper arm parallel to the ground, correct?

    • @AthleticMotionGolf
      @AthleticMotionGolf  9 місяців тому

      Correct. Somewhere matching the back line is a good starting point for “verticalness” 🙂

    So I am a little confused. The set up sounds OK but from there it gets confusin. On the T/A the hands work up with the pressure shift. So your description and the videos don't match. Say I have a short iron and I am thinking 41" per your instructions for where the clubhead should be at lead arm parallel. To me that makes the swing very flat when I think it should be more upright. Care to explain?

    (1) Is the ~ 41" affected by height of the golfer? (2) should the ~41" wall drill be combined with the first wall setup drill, i.e. should there still only be a club head distance between the wall and the golfer's heels? Shaun's heels look to be farther than a club head from the wall when performing the ~41" wall drill, but the Morikowa diagram looks closer to a club head.

      Do the setup until you own it. Then hen do the 41” drill. Not really possible to do them both together 👍

    Not sure how or why but OMG does it ever work! The hands do not move across the body and the talk about the trail side of body. I've watched a million golf videos and have never saw this one before. Thanks

    The first drill is crucial. I hope people won't overlook it. I've been doing it for a couple of years now, and it's really helped me improve my golf swing. The whole video is great, obviously... But don't forget start at the beginning. Build a solid grip, do the first drill, and you're giving yourself a chance to make a good swing. Neglect those things, and you're kinda wasting your time trying to jump ahead.

    If the trail arm only moves down at the elbow in the downswing and the body brings the club to the ball, is the trail arm also just moving up in the takeaway and the body rotating backwards?

    Is the wall drill supposed to be a calf ankle and leg workout? I’ve never felt this much tension in my legs. Perhaps because I haven’t been utilizing these muscles correctly.

    Thanks for the instruction. For the backswing drill, you can rest the club head on the wall in two ways 1) by changing the angle of the shaft inside/outside of the ball, or 2) by moving the lead arm away from/closer to the wall. How do I ensure I am doing this properly?
