Jon, love your channel and your videos. You have inspired me to start training in the gym, with super speed sticks and to see if I can get to single digits from a 12 handicap. Your videos give me lots of guidance. Thank you!
Great video! I am 63 years old and just hit my PR club head speed of 124. Thats with real driver and ball on course. I do a very similar work as you. I am a plus 3 HC. The added distance is so much fun. . Keep going with your great workouts
Thanks for the content. I will definitely start using superspeed and weight lifting. I generally swing my driver 108mph but this inspired me to train to get to 115/120mph! Love it
This is something I've been wanting. I want to incorporate golf weight training into my workouts....i recently got back into gym after heart surgery and I'm 60. Working out and flexibility will be key to playing well moving fwd. I'll be dusting off the Speed Sticks, too.
I would argue the statement longer drives equal lower scores. Yes it could help but 75% shots over par really come down to short game. Chipping/Pitching/Putting is what will really help the scores come down at the end of the day. Drives for show, putts for dough.
Gym definitely should be apart of any golfer’s training. Heck even any regular person should be in gym 3-5 times a week. Right now i can top out 130 with driver swing speed ball speed 160. But man so hard to control it.
Awesome video! Looking good. I think you can get 10 mile more out of your swing speed with bioswing dynamics from Mike Adams and Terry Rowles, they are the best
Went to a top coach who trains a bunch of PGA Tour players, LPGA Tour and Elite Ams. Program is based on what they all do, which from research and conversations is also very similar to what Rory and those top level guys do.
Good stuff. I think if you combine the training w getting a decent coach, you’ll start to see a lot more gains. We have a guy at our club weighs no more than 145 lbs and hits it 300-310. He’s just got great technique. One sidebar: be very careful w those resistance bands near your face. A buddy of mine was doing some P90x exercises when one of the bands snapped and hit him in the eye….exploded his cornea. Had a couple procedures, walked around blind for about 9 months in one eye and still not 100%.
I've seen you post several playing videos, I think you just need to keep more drives in play and work on your wedges and short irons, you won't make many bogeys that way Your strength is clearly your touch with with your shorter clubs If you can control your spin and trajectory with your wedge shots you'll save par from anywhere, even from 100 yards. Inside 50 yards you'll be getting up an down more than half the time and you'll be aiming to hole any chips just off the green You can shoot under par golf with like 95mph swing speed
@@JonPerkinsGolf Good luck! You can be the guy who drives everyone nuts by knocking down flagsticks with your short irons, making miracle pars from everywhere, and holing 1-2 long putts a round
Great content as always. Funny you are 5% faster than me on the speed sticks but I average 108mph on the driver. 🤷♂️ Not sure what that comes down to, must be strength I guess
Thanks, really appreciate that!! I'd say it could be technique, I don't think I'm as efficient as I could be in my swing - guessing I lose some of my potential speed through having average technique, but just a guess. Thanks for watching along
Honest congratulations on your improvements in your physical performance. But to call this an “insane workout routine” is really a huge stretch. Come back after you’ve seen a garden-variety wrestling or football workout- then you can talk about an “insane workout” routine.
Unless this results in significantly lower scores, then all of this is just minutiae unless the goal is to represent the Australian Olympic team in the decathlon.
Yeah from the videos I've seen his biggest problem is keeping his longer clubs in play, both from the tee and with the fairway woods/middle irons off the deck
Yeah I know and agree. Honestly based on comments and messages the video has positively helped people, with make me feel it was very worth while. Seems though that the packaging needs a little extra flare to get clicks and ultimately enable it to help people. Trying Rory's stock standard workouts just doesn't seem to get cut through. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Wow this comment has really made my day, thank you! I wish you the very best of luck with it all.

You're already fast, so I'm sure the sky is the limit for you! Good luck - let us know how you get on.

I highly recommend it! Though you might want to get the advice of an expert :-)

You sound like a weapon with the driver!! Impressive.
With 130 mph swing speed you ball speed should be in the 190's.
Yes. 110mph swing can get 160 ball…130 swing should be miles past 160
Great progress!! Keep at it 💪
Thanks guys!!

Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out!
Any estimation why you can‘t swing your driver as fast as you red speedstick?
Maybe you should try one of Martin Borgmeiers drills to improve further.
Hey, the Red stick is heavier than a normal driver, so I'd say that. Doesn't hurt to check out new ideas though!
Can you do a prgr vs trackman with a. Long driver
Not sure what you mean? If you mean a PRGR vs Trackman accuracy test, there is one of those on my channel 👍
Great job. Now the test is to keep it going and convert the extra speed into improved shot making. 👍
Agreed!
Great work Jon! 👏
Thanks mate!
Your link for the launch monitor isn't correct.
Sorry about that. Do you mean the discount part? Using: JONPERKINS should also apply the discount.
How did you find out Rory’s program?
Went to a top coach who trains a bunch of PGA Tour players, LPGA Tour and Elite Ams. Program is based on what they all do, which from research and conversations is also very similar to what Rory and those top level guys do.
What for? Did your putting improve?
haha not yet
what app was that
It was the gym's own app. The gym was called Precision Athletica.
Good video, 4-5mph increase very respectable
Thanks!
Good video
Thank you
Great video, I'm tagging a long for the ride!
Thanks mate

I hope so 😀

Thanks mate and agree... A bit of creative license on the YT title. It's helped me though

Keep up the great work!

Skwiz skiwz skiwz skiwz
now fix the mechanics and i bet you will find more distance gains than you found with the strength training
So you start your training day by drinking a powerade which is full of sugar??? seriously?
