The videos are made by Adam Jones (guitar player). Before TOOL he was a successful special effects artist. Did movies like Terminator 2, Jurassic Park, Ghost Busters etc. Maynard, was also interested in the arts. He was in theater & Glee club.
This was from 1996... Tool's 2nd album 'Aenima' (3rd including their 1992 EP 'Opiate') Well, Tool does have a twisted sense of humor making a song called 'Stinkfist' as the first single/ music video for the record (They aired it on MTV as 'Track #1') ... and a surreal/ horror music video directed by Tool's guitarist Adam Jones, who is also a Hollywood special effects wizard. Maynard James Keenan (vocals) has often used dark and twisted humor w/ all his musical projects (His electronic music project Puscifer had their first album titled 'V is for vagina') A Perfect Circle is also another band that Maynard sings lead on... Check out - 'Judith' ... 'The noose' ... '3 Libras'... If u find this music intriguing... there is nothing wrong w/ you 😁 U can check out Tool songs that don't have music videos - 'Forty six and two'... 'Swamp song'... 'Vicarious'...
I was right, it is Tool lmao. To me that expression said "I'm a little confused, slightly disturbed, and yet still intrigued", so I immediately thought of Tool's videos.
I think “Stinkfist” was my first intro to Tool when it appeared on one of the Triple J hottest 100’s, a fascinating song with a unique sound. From there I dove deeper and discovered how incredible this band is. I’d also recommend “Right in Two”, “The Pot”, “Sober” and “Forty Six and 2”. Also, on the at last one you should also check out the kids cover version by the O’Keefe Music Academy, they make me wish I’d stuck at music when I was younger. Anyway, completely different style, but I gotta throw in my obligatory recommendation for John Farnham as well. Just remember if you do Farnsy, Live is ALWAYS better. “You’re the Voice” with the MSO will be your kickoff point, and remember to keep an eye on that mic stand!
As always, Charis, it's good to see you and I hope you're well 8^) I don't know how much Tool you've listened to in total, but they're one of my favourite bands. As much as I love seeing your reactions, if it means you being able to listen to them at your leisure, I wouldn't mind you not recording listening to their discography 8^) Be well!
You gotta experience the whole thing! All their videos are as compelling as their music is, except you hear more without watching... expand your third eye by embracing your desire to swing on the spiral
@@CharisSellick yeah the video doesn’t reflect what the music is playing . Best to react to music separately then watch the video because the are two different pieces of art .
@@CharisSellickI get what they are saying. TOOL videos can distract from the song because they are so intriguing. They suck you in and you miss the song. Either way anyone new listening to more TOOL, video or audio, is a good thing.

"i'll... keep... digging, until I... feel... something"
Probably one of my favorite TOOL lines.
One of the best delivered, I'll say that but I gotta give it to "What became of subtlety" for being one of the best written
Adam Jones (Tool guitar player) did these older videos…later Alex Grey collaborated with Adam. He does most of their art for their albums now
Maynards voice is so amazing.

Just in case no one else has mentioned it, Maynard's other 2 bands, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer are amazing as well. Cheers.
I loved your take on this. Weird is a badge of honor rather than being mundane and boring. ❤
This is my high-school days coming back!

"What became of subtlety?" Is such a fun self-effacing line when you consider the more... bluntly literal interpretation of these lyrics.
🔥🔥
The way I feel this song is how much you are willing to give to another person before you’re up to your elbow before you get anything back
🤘🏻🌀
Maynard, Maynard Maynard yeah he’s great but he’s 25%of this quartette. Adam, Danny and Justin need to be mentioned just as much kids.

TOOL is a complicated instrument. They're a journey not a destination. Pun well intended. 🔧
For a lack of better idea, tool seems like a metal rush to me
I wish they would find Paul and go back to playing the UNDERTOW type rock. UNDERTOW is legendary !❤
Should do A Perfect Circle, also some Porcupine tree and Steven Wilson stuff.
Turn around and take my hand 🤛
Interesting
2nd half tool always eats.
TOOL ARMY reporting for DUTY! ✌️

Don’t do that! 😂 She’s already addressed it. They are obviously twins, separated at birth!
I think me making the video about it did something to the algorithm lol

Could you use the same music video for a song called Stinkfish tho'?🤔

I love TOOL reaction reactions... this one, not so much. I'm sorry but way too annoying.
Just a suggestion if I may. Might not want to get wrapped up in the videos so much.

Turn the theatre off when you're not in theater. It's very unlikeable. You seem like a cool girl, otherwise.
