Just finished your video and my husband and I think your crazy 🤪 I don't know honestly how you and Buck didn't freeze to death out there ?? Wow, sending complete respect 👊 until the next winter adventure, Life's A River , Grab a Padddle 😉🛶
Hey mate, I don’t even know where to begin. I watched that over four nights and it was an absolute epic. I really felt like I was there at times (I absolutely was not, I was in bed during an Australian summer) you did such a wicked job of documenting that trip. Buck is a bloody bad ass! I smiled every time you turned the camera back to watch him hauling that sled in the distance 😂 That is a true example of man’s best friend right there. He’s proven that he’ll follow you no matter where you go. Yeah, don’t know what else to say other than I thoroughly enjoyed this film man, and it’s awesome that you get to live out your dreams of exploration. Another inspiration of mine over the last few years and definitely a reason I’ve managed to make this UA-cam adventuring my full time gig now as well. Thank you dude 🙏 Give Buck a pat for me. He deserves it.
This leaves me speechless. A death-defying venture, and you did it! So scary to get so low on food in that frigid tundra, all the blizzards you had to contend with, just a fight to stay alive. What a relief it must've been to make it to Hudson Bay. Wow. Just wow. Buck was such a trooper! Thanks for filming this adventure even amidst horrific conditions. Take care.
Holy crap Jim, that wasn't building forts and sleeping in the back yard. What determination, talk about beast mode! One side note: you sure do pick beauty dogs! Buck and North both, so beautiful.
I’ve seen many videos, none of you though.. found this and just wow man. I love the passion I feel. Be safe be strong as always be healthy! The pup too! MANS BEST FRIEND! ❤
What I like most about this video: The phucking Beast mode you and Buck exhibit countless times to keep from dying. I've followed your content for a long time but seeing the entire video from this trip made my sphincter pucker up more than once. This is how legends are made Jim and you deserve every thing you've earned.
It’s hard to put into words the respect and admiration I have for you and your dog Buck. But when I saw Buck making that last push on the final day I just broke down and cried. A man and his dog! What a team! Thank you so much for sharing this amazing wilderness with us weanies ! ClaudiaSJI
What an amazing suspense filled adventure. Thanks so much for taking us along on your journey and filming in such extreme conditions. Buck and you are amazing explorers!
What a coincidence! Just 2 days ago I was thinking that you should re-edit, refresh and upload your two arctic trips to expose them to newer subscribers that may not delve deep into your past catalog. I loved your Baffin Island expedition. Ballsy!
Wow! This certainly started out with an amazing experience! Mussels and tide pools under so much ice. It's so amazing! That blizzard on day 22 and 23 sounded absolutely horrific 😮! No freaking thank you! You are so skilled at surviving that crap! And you maintain such an amazing attitude! And Buck! He's the ultimate companion! Awesome dog! I hope his paw is okay. And stay out of his freaking food!!!
I know this is a re run but as a newer subscriber I appreciate the repost! I have been watching a lot of older videos. Across the height of land is one of my favorites!
Endurance. That’s the overall impression that I get…pressing forward even when facing obstacles which most would fold over…endurance. You have my respect….

Thanks Jim. I'm a Canadian primary school teacher in China. We talk a lot about survival and climate change, I show them your videos to give them a broader understanding of the world. Thanks for helping us change the future,
Thanks, sometimes he was actually the opposite but summertimes he was. Similar to what a human would be. He lined the 8 hour a day walk though. Big time. When we got home, he’d run to the does and bark at the door knob , looking back at me and then at the door again thinking, when the heck is the 8 hour a day walk was going to commence.

Awesome video Jim and great to see Big Buck !!! We are looking forward to the spring and summer epic 4-8 hour videos bro. Keep it up and be safe
Will do! Thanks a lot. I actually never posted this trip. I didn’t have a YT channel when I did the trip. I actually posted some short, like five min vids from it before I had any subscribers but the vast majority of the footage wasn’t used. I did that Baffin Island trek, travelling with Buck my solar means and I edited a video series out of that for my YT channel. Even that I filmed for a magazine and eventually put it up on YT, though it was a lot closer to the trip than this one.

I would've died 17 times along the way. Great job as always Jim, you truly are a world class adventurer. That being said, Buck is clearly the star of the show and very generous for sharing his food. ;)
Great adventure and video Jim. The Inuit villagers coming out to the cabin were just keeping an eye on you, and quite right too - they did know you would be up for the challenge, and better safe than sorry.
No, they didn’t ski-doo there to keep an eye on me. It was the same group I had gone under the sea ice with. It was a groups of high school grads from various Nunavik communities participating in a program where they do several things like this across the region. They had the Pingualuit Crater trips planned well in advance and it was just a coincidence that I saw them again there. I thought I’d be past there hey then but in was a day late getting there and then I was pinned down by weather.

Haha, thanks very much and this is actually a new video that I filmed before I had a UA-cam channel. I filmed the trip and a professional video editor cut a seven min spot for the Discovery Chsnnel show Daily Planet in 2016.
