In this video, I demonstrate how to paint a stunning but simple mountain landscape. The painting I created features Mount Ngauruhoe, a snow-capped active volcano in the Central Plateau of New Zealand's North Island.
Throughout the video, I demonstrate how to approach a plein air painting, I give you tips on creating the correct values to create atmospheric depth. I also show you how to mix some of the colours which I demonstrate on my palette.

i love your art and your tutorial esc videos, i have to ask though can you try doing a more detailed piece with gouache? seems most people who do gouache leave it rather blocky and undetailed...
Thank you. I have been doing a few gouache paintings recently. Gouache naturally lends itself to a loose impressionistic style. I will be uploading a UA-cam video on painting a coastal scene in the coming weeks. Stay tuned 😊
