We have watched this at few times, it’s so fascinating, we love this video and every Big Jet live broadcast. Captain Jerry 🧑✈️ you did a great job flying and Zane is so calm, relaxed and confident. Big shout out to captain Zane xxxx
I can tell that you felt the weight and responsibility that these men and women have when in control of these machines. Two or three hundred people in the back are relying on you to get them back down on the ground safely. This was such an awesome opportunity. Massive props to Virgin and to Captain Dunning and everyone who gave of their time to make this happen. Well done Jerry/Gilly!!
Absolutely amazing video, big kudos to Captain Dunning and Virgin Atlantic who agreed to participate, as some airlines are taking a different approach to social media and should be ashamed :(. Jerry & GP - always love your videos...
Fantastic show with more than great thanks to Virgin making this possible for your Big Jet TV. It did give a beautiful inside of the things happening in the cockpit, thanks to the professional explanations by the crew. Highly appreciated :)
Your demeanour was exceptional catering for all that was given to you. Never easy until you experience, for what is reality, whilst doing the procedures. For someone with ‘outside knowledge’ your actions were tremendous. All credit for showing us a new found experience which all of us would love to do. Your Instructors were tremendous in giving you the input and guidance in what I’m sure is and will always be, a great day in your lifetime. Gerry, you give so much pleasure to lots of people, long may you continue.
Thank you Jerry, Zane and everyone who created this video. After watching your video showing the landings in Storm Eunice at Heathrow - I will now be able to see in my mind's eye exactly what the pilots are doing when I next watch a BigJet video of crabbing aircraft and windshear go arounds. If I was a school child today your videos would make me want to become a commerical airline pilot! Thanks again everyone!
AMAZING - Zane seems like a nice chap, very calm and informative, John was cool in the back, Jerry i'll bet you were exhausted after that heavy concentration that at the time you didn't realize you were doing, i'll bet you were buzzing when you got home. It was great. Bet you want another go, can i can i huh huh huh just 1 more go Pleeeeeeaassssse!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved loved loved it! A massive well done to everyone involved. Some laugh out loud moments as well… ‘Jerry: how to I stop it? Capt Dunning: with the brakes’ 😂 Joking apart, this was absolutely brilliant!
Kudos to Captain's Zane, John Paddon and Mark Bishton. All great professionals and skilled pilots. Never flown Virgin, but planning to book a trip with Virgin in the itinerary from Orlando!
I really enjoyed watching this even after it was live! Gives everyone a sense of what a pilot crew go through on good and rough landings! Nice last landing too Jerry!
I had the pleasure of meeting Zane with Jerry last November, a true gentlemand and a Virgin legend! I hope he found a special place for that Gemini 747 model he was given lol..
Absolutely brilliant stuff, Jerry and Zane! I'm learning to fly the A320 on my PC flight simulator, but I would LOVE to be in a proper A320 simulator like this one. Fantastic! Thank you so much for this entertaining and informative stream.
What a fantastic opportunity..... and so good of Zane to make this possible - what a great teacher. Well done Jerry....next time....now that you've got youre feet wet....a change of seats perhaps?? Zane was doing so much in his seat surely you HAVE to want to do all that??
This was epic... So lucky to be able to fly the sim... Seems to me less is more when big jets are involved...just makes me realise how experienced these pilots are... I'd love to have a lesson or 2 myself.
Wow Jerry, what a marvelous session! You did awesome mate! Thanks so much for making all this happen, gives a whole new admiration for those involved in getting us from A to B safely! 5 star!
That was fan-tastic, superb stuff! As an avid flight simmer, watching this gave me so many ideas on how to handle the 787 in MSFS and I'm so envious you got to go in a professional, full motion, simulator, you're one lucky guy. Great work by the whole team and Virgin Atlantic to have been able to make this happen, this is UA-cam gold!
Great video. I was lucky enough to witness most of the VA 747s depart from Manchester for their last time. The wing waves were something else and a fitting end to their reign. I’m gutted they’ve gone but they took me all over the world and they’ll always have a special place in my heart. I still think the world has gone mad to retire these beauties.
This is incredible. The technological advances are superb. I’m old enough to remember going to the viewing deck at the airport. Yes it was a long time ago
Great stream! I struggled with the headset volume even at 100% but i heard about 2/3rds of it, and found it very interesting. Great job on that flying, Jerry - you looked like you had a blast, especially on that wind shear go around! Having flown the 787 lots of times on Microsoft Flight Simulator, i'd love a go on this!
Wow what a fantastic experience that was 👍🏻👏🏻 your very lucky jerry 😊 loved watching this video ! Watch out everyone here come your next pilot in the making ✈️👏🏻👏🏻
Jerry. As a former BA staff member I was lucky to do over 40 hours on the simulators over at Cranebank many years ago flying 767, 747, and 757. Well done, You are very quiet during your approaches. Well done mate
I don't want to put this but the VT audio was spot on but the chat between the audio was very quiet so when it switched between one was louder then the other but other then that spot on
Looks like you and Zane had fun in the sim! What I can say is that the windsheer that we experienced on that approach (14:00 mins into this video) and certainly the second approach, was far more eventful than anything we'd ever practiced for in the sim. However, the training that we carry out makes dealing with tricky situations feel like second nature and ultimately safer for everyone. Maybe the next time I see you will be in the sim getting your type rating instead of out of the right hand side of the aircraft!
@AvroArrow4351 this is the video I was referring to on Sunday which explains why they leave the gear down for a bit when they get wind shear warning - starts at about 12:12
We are concerned flyers, we came across your video by mistake. We have booked a holiday with Virgin and they also said our cabin crew are trained to help nervous flyers. First time for us Manchester to New York. 4 weeks time.
that was a amazing video gerry you did very well so well done to you and im actully flying to orlando from manchester october 3rd on a virgin a330-300 series aircraft with the trent700

There is only the simulator technician in the back
Zane is a class act, incredible ambassador for the company!
Great show. Bloody well done Jerry👏👏👏
Love Zane he is such a good instructor.
Absolutely amazing video, big kudos to Captain Dunning and Virgin Atlantic who agreed to participate, as some airlines are taking a different approach to social media and should be ashamed :(.

Awesome video team, Jerry you did great!
Fantastic show with more than great thanks to Virgin making this possible for your Big Jet TV. It did give a beautiful inside of the things happening in the cockpit, thanks to the professional explanations by the crew. Highly appreciated :)

Awesome stuff guys! Had a very long roll on a 787 recently (vid on channel) thought we'd never get off!
Great film, I was lucky to have a go on a BA 747 sim at LHR five years back, felt so real. Shame they still don’t still do it.

Jerry, hopefully my tyres are all OK 😳 extremely well done 👏🏻 great tuition from Zane 👍🏻
Excellent to see you have fun
I agree that the 787 is the best long haul flight. I have two long flights booked on the 787 in September.
What FUN!

Jerry the best place to practice crabbing is with a Tesco shopping trolley when one wheel is broken. I’ve perfected the art now 😂
Lucky boy jerry, lucky boy!
One lucky man Jerry
Hey Jerry. This is Virgin Atlantic and not Ryan Air if you know what I mean. Great program as usual.
