How to Separate a Clump of Frozen Dumplings - 饺子 - 分开饺子的方法

  • If you have made your own dumplings before, you would probably know that to store them for a period of time, you would need to freeze them individually in the freezer to prevent them from clumping together. But what if you are making a big batch of dumplings and your freezer doesn’t have enough space to fit a tray of dumplings to freeze each of the dumplings individually?
    I had the same experience so what I did was to bag my dumplings together, try to lay them flat, give them a good shake so that they don’t clump to each other as much. In the end, when I took out the bag from the freezer, I realised that the dumplings still ended up getting stuck to each other.
    In the past, I would have given up and boil it the usual way, fully expecting that the dumpling skin will tear. But recently, I discovered a way of separating the dumplings without tearing their skin. Watch the video to the end and you can try it for yourself if you encounter the same issue next time.
    The entire process of separating the dumplings took about 16 minutes with minimal effort but I have shortened the video for easier viewing. Hope my tip works for you! =)
