Finally! been waiting for another Bottom reaction. For me and lot of Brits who are in thier 30s/40s, the Bottom humour is in our DNA. Anarchy! ✌

In American comedy, the protagonist is a wisecracking relatable Everyman who always gets the girl. In British comedy, the protagonist is a deeply flawed, often quite unpleasant character who has nasty things happen to him.

Lucky enough to have seen ALL the Live Shows.....LIVE!!!.....The pain from laughing so much carried on into the next day....Such a shame we lost Rik so early.. RIP.

Both Rik Mayall (RIP) and Adrian Edmondson came to our attention in the 80's with their anarchic and funnyAF comedy about 4 students sharing a house, 'The Young Ones'. Well worth a watch if you get the chance. There's also a superb documentary somewhere about Rik Mayall's life.
Also Rik did Kevin Turvey. That's the first I saw him, our 3 kids grew up watching this and young ones. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rik did another character called Kevin Turvey, a West Midlands character based on Rik's home town accent.

An don't forget ,filthy rich and catflap, mayall, Edmondson, and planner that was every bit as funny as the young ones an a close second to bottom imo.

I have been waiting for your reaction to a live stage show of Bottom...priceless...your laughter and understanding of Innuendos British or otherwise from the 1990's...oh such a great time for comedy...no one was offended..nobody complained...just filthy British humour at its very best...and LIVE too...thanks for uploading and cant wait for the next part...and this is only the first of 4 live stage shows to look at....

Hooligans Island was my introduction to their live stage work, now I own the collection.
Rick and Ade were an amazing double act ,they defined the young ones,which in turn redefined British comedy,the same way spike Milligan,the goons,montypython,and so many others redefined comedy almost on a weekly basis.

Rick is the anarchist. ..Eddie is a violent punk rocker....but yeah the young ones is a classic.

Those two are amazing when they start to improvise. I think there's a video of that somewhere, if it's not in this video.
Prior to Bottom they made a short-lived sitcom in 1986 called Filthy, Rich & Catflap which was *horribly* underappreciated.
I appreciate that show the milkman episode is one of the best, but allow them are one of the best lol same with the young ones and bottom.
There was always 3 main members of ‘Bottom’… Richie, Eddie & the sound guy 😂

The Dangerous Brothers - Babysitters and Torture sketches are hilarious.

Yeah one of my exes sisters was like that, part of the reason that particular ex is an ex lol
the good thing about live is they're not restricted by language and things they can do like on their tv shows. this one was the best for me, its when they break character is the best bits.
Put on your list to watch, "Allo Allo".....you won't be disappointed! It gets better and better as the series goes on.
That's on the list of things that will be every other week with Black Adder and Dad's Army.

I'm half way through this, I've never watched a "reaction" type upload, but to see someone not from the UK actually appreciate cheap laughs and bad jokes from two of my favourite British comedy actors (R.I.P Rik Mayall 😭) is amazing! Glad it gave you laughs. Hope you watched all 4 live shows and hope you saw drop dead Fred back in the day. Rik came to the US earlier than he should have to make a movie, UK actors weren't as popular in those days. Thanks for this upload, it made it even funnier seeing you react

I was watching Riks Kevin Turvey character earlier. Brilliant and very under reacted to.
I love that you U.S. guys get the humour. You've given us so much comedy from Dick Van Dyke, Bilko Mary Tyler Moore, Frasier, Seinfeld etc, good to see that you guys enjoy U.K. comedy.
Essential British satire....evokes sixties working class laddishness...not immediately recognisable to American eyes

As a sort of prequel The Young Ones had a lot of the same character . Wasnt quite so wild but it was funny.

I saw Rick live, He was with the Ben Elton tour (Dec 8th 1985), When he came on stage he brought the house down with laughter, And never said a word for 10mins, He just pulled faces :) Then after that he turned around to reveal a word chalked onto his back "Wanker" lol for ages.
When Ben Elton came on, I decided to be the one to leave for a toilet brake, And sure enough he ripped into me for doing so, lol.

Yeah I saw this the first BOTTOM live tour in Leicester it was so funny & that's an understatement, I still have my original tour t shirt,. RIP Rik.
Last of the summer wine, that comedy programme lasted almost 30 years
this was in my hometown of Southampton I'm there somewhere in the crowd
Another cult comedy character I'd recommend is Siadwell. He was created and played by Welsh actor and comedian John Sparkes and he only appeared in one sketch per episode in the first three series of Naked Video (1986 - 1989). He's a real nerd whose surreal anecdotes about his social life are hilarious.
The live shows are really funny, especially when they forget their lines. I was able to see one of the later live shwos and loved it.

I saw bottom live at Manchester apollo in roughly 93/94. Absolutely hilarious. The only time I've laughed more was watching Billy Connolly

I'd LOVE to see how Our Man reacts to Spike (and his 'Q' series). Most Americans seem never even to have HEARD of one of the greatest comedy geniuses of all time - which is a GREAT pity, given that many of them WILL 'get' his humour.

If you like folk music I suggest you look out for Ade's band The Bad Shepherds. They do fantastic stuff. They have even done beautiful folk renditions of classic British punk songs!

Have you seen any Blackadder? The first series was a bit hit and miss but series 2-4 were fantastic.

The best part about the live shows is the corpsing. There's one live show where they totally lose the whole track of the play... There's about 15 minutes of 'improv' then Eddie turns around and says "at last... A line from the play"... And even though the last 10 minutes of 'improv' was half scripted. When they tried getting back into the script the whole audience was dying with laughter and they really just couldn't carry on.
Rik also couldn't carry on because his arm was getting tired.
