RIK was _never_ in Red Dwarf. Love Rik and Red Dwarf, but he never appeared in a single episode of that series. Nice idea, though, it would have been brilliant. He did cameo as (Lord) Flasheart in two episodes of Black Adder.

That's not true at all 😄 Frankie Boyle says some of the most offensive stuff and he still has a career, Ricky Gervais made a show about a slow person and continues to make offensive comedy etc. People, do you not pay attention? I live in Bournemouth, its where Mary Shelley is buried and opposite her final resting place is a pub named in her honour. The pub sign is the face of her most famous creation, Frankenstein's Monster and thanks to Rik and Ade every time I see that pub sign I start chuckling, I must look like a right fucking loon walking along on my own chuckling. I'm sure I don't have to tell any Bottom fans why I laugh but if you don't know you'll find a clip on YT...Gold, Frankenstein and Grr. The clip is good but without the context of seeing the whole episode you might be left wondering WTF.
Guest House Paradiso is brilliant aswell, not many people understand or get the old British slap stick but it is some of the best. Another one is Brittas Empire - highly recommend

I originally had the bottom series on VHS which have different cuts of the show including things not in bottom : fluff. Audio cuts different too, most noticeable was the bit at the fair. When Rik said his line "theiving b*stard yobos....." he actually said gypos at the time. BBC likes to stay PC.
I remember seeing them first as the Dangerous Brothers, doing stunts with explosives, and firing Eddie through brick walls from a cannon. Then there was Kevin Turvey, the ace reporter And soon after that , they turned up together in The Young Ones - which became compulsory viewing. (The only program at the time that could make me late for getting to the pub ! )
When he was beating the crap out of the phone, we used to have to do that when our parents put a lock on the telephone to stop you from calling up your mates and sending the phone bill through the roof. Every time you hit the receiver it dialled 1. You could tap out a telephone while the lock was still on. As for j.r.Hartley you’re going to have to search you tube for that one lol. It is out there

I had this show on video. It's still funny, but not as funny as I found it then. It's got nothing to do with PC or anything like that, it's just that the 'knob' and 'wank' jokes can get tiring quickly. But when someone like Chubby Brown tells jokes like that, I always laugh, it's all in the delivery.

These two are brilliant together, right the way back to 'The young ones' slapstick comedy, done well, always appeals.
