- Drift car scents are air fresheners for your car that are designed to be a subscription service so that you get a new one every month.
I've been getting a bunch of comments on my Drift Scents videos from a few years ago claiming that the smell isn't lasting, and they've prompted me to test and see if Drift car scents last as long as they say they do.
If you like my shirt and hat, they're my merch! nacendeavors.com/
Buy one for the wood block, and when the oil dries up, replenish it with an essential oil of your choosing. Soak the dry block in a sealed container with your oil for a couple hours, then put it back in your car and pour the oil back in the bottle to reuse.
Sounds like a good idea!
I was just about to order one, but I’m glad I found your video before I pulled the trigger.
Thanks for watching!
Wonder if you could reuse it by adding more essential oil to it?
That's a great question actually, I really don't see why not!
This is actually my plan. I just recently did an order got the white pumpkin, which smells amazing and unfortunately, I put it in my fiancé’s car and I’m definitely not getting that back from him 😂😂😂 the smell was very strong. You could smell it when you’re opening the trunk of the car. I also got it directly from drift 88 I want one for my personal car so I just ordered the cabana and my only complaint is that it takes so long shipping wise to get to your house, but I’m not paying extra for it to get there faster I have many essential oils at home so whenever the scent of this fades away, I plan to soak it just to test out the theory, but I really don’t see it not working since it’s the same. I think I’ll try to stick with those original sense, but if not, then whatever I have that’s what I will use
I know that my grandma gave me a little chest with cedar blocks in it with the moth balls smell on them, so I'd guess that it's the kind of wood they use. Probly just soak it in oils for a while so it could absorb it. Cedar is a really soft wood compared to stuff like oak, so maybe being soft makes it more porous.
@@Matryoshkabomb cedar is soft?? 😂
@EnterTheMatr1x1337 ? I can dig my finger nail into it. Idk. I haven't seen cedar flooring before, only seats in a sauna.
I have one and it's been lasting weeks! It also smells absolutely amazing!
Heck yeah, glad to hear it! I think the heat played a big part here, if you're in a cooler environment or park in a garage, I could see it lasting longer!
Smell adaptation
If you smell an odour for long enough, you eventually stop noticing it. This is because prolonged exposure to a strong smell is believed to saturate the olfactory epithelium with odour molecules to the point where information is no longer delivered to the brain. This is called 'adaptation'.

Unless you're in you're vehicle 24/7 this won't be the case.
Thanks for your review. I'll stick to the air freshener aisle at Walmart!
For sure! Hahaha, the ol trusty trees! 😄
The extremely high heat will evaporate the oils at a way faster rate. I also noticed your sun roof shade was open so the drift scent was directly impacted.
These things do last way longer in the spring and fall.
The winter sometimes gets so cold the opposite effect happens. It gets so cold it freezes and thaws so much that after a few times it becomes almost water logged.
So a good idea might be to keep the ones you get in summer and winter for the times of the year where it is more temperate stable.
Just a suggestion….❤🤷♀️
That makes sense to me! I was thinking the heat probably affected them a great deal as well... I didn't even think about the sunroof tho, that's good observation! I'm guessing someone with a garage might see them last a bit longer.
Oh no ! Not water logged
I got one before Christmas and still going strong on the 21st of Jan if that helps anyone
What was the scent in November 2024?
Cali scents last long for me as well as TreeFrog from JDMFV. I just ordered more car scents from Scent Bomb I'm gonna test. I may try drift too.
Good to know! I might have to check those out!
The first one i bought was GROVE and it was so strong that I put it in my house !!! And for wks it was crazy wonderful !! I moved to Colorado and ordered other fragrance BUT A MONTH LATER I COULD BARELY SMELL TEAK fragrance and FRESH AIR ! I WAS SOOO SURPRISED !! WHAT HAPPENED ??? IT IS SO MUCH Dryer in Colorado than Tx ( original location of Grove fragrance) BUT WOW. I did rub my newer wood drift with oil too see if that renewed it's fragrance BUT NOT REALLY. I AM SO SURPRISED that the humidity OR dryness/ heat decrease the life expectancy of the fragrance 😮
Yeah it's super dry here in the springs. Pretty much any air freshener I've used has not lasted
I use the circle axe vent clips and i use oil to refresh it and will never change
I tried to smell it at target and literally couldn’t smell a thing
I can confirm and it lasted me two months, at least for me
Dang, I'm glad to hear it! I think the heat played a big part here, I could see it lasting longer in a cooler environment or if it was parked in a garage.
I normally use chemical guys air freshener spray and Febreze Car Vent Air Freshener. Chemical guys new car smell is very strong it gets weed smells and oders out of your car. Febreze is good for just keeping your car smelling good.
Never heard of Chemical Guy, but I could see febreezing the car working well!

You keep it in the package and cut a few small holes, and buy more than one the leather scent last a long time
I know people that do that with the Realtrees, seems to work!
@NAC.Approved little trees,
Same experience with them
The car perfume lasts longer 13£ for almost half year
Half a year is wild, I'll have to check it out!
I have been using the car cologne, it lasts over 6 months even when diffuser is empty 😂
They don't Iast
They don't have a strong enough smell and they don't last
