Oh thank you! Well that's good. I really never imagined when I first started I'd still be making videos 4 years later. 🙃 I do really just enjoy it though! I sometimes wish I'd done pharmacy, chemistry was my best subject at A level and I think in hindsight I would choose to study that above straight biology. 🥰
Vanilla Toffee has been one of my favourites this year. It's along the lines of Lush Sticky Dates. I was disappointed with Cinnamon Rolls, lots of cinnamon, no rolls. I'm glad I only purchased a sample, I would only layer it with other fragrances. I really enjoyed the Pistachio Latte, a nice departure from the Yum Pistachio dna.
Vanilla Toffee was very very sweet! I think I need to try Sticky Dates again and make a comparison. 😊 Cinnamon rolls without the rolls 😂 pistachio latte does sound lovely, I love pistachios 💚
@dr.claire.perfume I actually love cinnamon fragrances, but on it's own the Cinnamon Rolls was very similar to the ground sweet cinnamon I regularly use in the kitchen.
This was so enjoyable Claire! I'm feeling extra eager to try new fragrances and maybe it's the holidays/cold weather. Recently I visited my kids in NYC and we hit the niche boutiques and had the best time. Even my hotel had Le Labo Hinoki for shower gels, soaps and shampoo in my room so I was in heaven! As much as I'm ready to pull the trigger, I'm becoming more selective and choosy about what I add. The Glossier launches intrigue me too yet longevity is a concern. Right now I'm happy to enjoy my current collection but open to see what hit me to add next. Happy Holidays to you Claire!

Hi Claire! I just tried Black Opium Glitter this week. I've never been more underwhelmed with a fragrance in my life but I'm not saying it's bad if that makes sense! 😅 I got lots of patchouli, zero marshmallow, tons of the Black opium DNA.. but what can you tell from first impressions? 🤷🏻♀️😅 I did spray generously on skin but.. anyways, some people may love it! The other new one I tried on skin that day (besides Clean Whipped Cherry, which I hated) was Yum Boujee Marshmallow.. very realistic marshmallow scent, which if that's what someone was looking for, would be great! Not my style, which I knew going in. I have a Short I may post about these two. I don't like any of the Theodoros Kalotinis ones from that line.. I'm almost tempted by these actually! ..but I'll probably pass due to my history with them! 😆 I had such a memory from smelling Hinoki & Cedarwood, I'd have to smell it again for it to register in my brain as to what it it's! 😅
Hi Tammy! Oh that's a shame! I will try it. I think the Black Opium DNA is pretty strong isn't it?! Most of the flankers are very much Black Opium first and foremost. It's sad that you can't smell marshmallow, maybe it will come along with a second very long sniff?! Yum does sounds more of a marshmallow, I often miss shorts, I think I've watched about 6 in 4 years. I'm not good at short things in general 😂 I think that's probably why TikTok didn't register for me as something interesting either. I know, those TKs are very hit and miss. And yes, very sweet. I think if I sample, I will be selective. Hinoki and Cedarwood was actually really calming and pleasant. I don't want a bottle but I enjoyed the sampling experience. 🥰
I tried Black Opium Glitter this week too and it was awful 😢 you described it perfectly. Maybe someone will like it but I can say several people were trying it when I was and nobody liked it including the sales associate unfortunately 🥺

Hey Claire 👋🏻 well, it pleases me that I’m *not* intrigued by most of these 🥳 My bank account is happy too 😳 I do have a 5ml of Teriaq Intense but have not worn it yet - been having some sinus 🤧 issues unfortunately. I also have a 5ml of the new Shaghaf and I do like it a lot. IMO it’s a bit more interesting than all of the super sweet caramelly vanillas that have been coming out lately 🥱😴🥱😴 Once the prices come down might buy a bottle. Barenia is nice, I got a 30ml. Have only worn it once so far - would enjoy hearing your thoughts once you’ve tried it more. Just ordered a 5ml of new release London Fog by Brandt and super excited to get my nose on it. Hurray! 🎉 Let me know how much saffron is going on in Teriaq intense and whether people are mad or not with the Plum Japonaise comparisons 🙂 Sorry to hear about the sinus issues, it's so annoying when you want to sniff something. I tried the Swiss Arabian and then promptly left the card on the bus by accident. I'm sure the bus still smells of it. 🤣 It was crazily strong and very sweet. Barénia was really nice, I thought it was probably the most interesting designer release I'd smelt in a long while. I do wish there was less cashmeran but it seems like that trend is here to stay. London fog sounds nice from the name, I imagine a petrichor grey feeling fragrance with some aldehydes and musks. Piguet's Bandit made me think of 1950s smog laden London before the clean air act, I think I'd like that kind of feel but instead with something cleaner like fog rather than smog. Good morning Claire. The only one of these that I have tried is Barenia. I think I will need to sniff it a few more times before deciding if I like it or not. I did like the fact that it’s different from anything else I’ve tried. Re lilac perfumes, I’ve just received Lilas from Fragonard. I seem to be drawn to Aurélien Guichard perfumes, even before I learn he is the perfumier. The only other one from that house I’ve tried is a 3x5ml set of Soleil. The original is very old fashioned, the Grain de Soleil is the best of the 3. No-one talks about Fragonard on UA-cam that I’ve seen. Is that a house you have any experience of? Barénia is really different and I do love that Hermes always do stand out! I have a sample now so I will keep trying it and see if I can get over the thick cashmeran feeling. I remember trying Soleil by Fragonard in M&S a few years ago but then it disappeared and I remember Chantel Tiffany saying it had been discontinued... good to know it's back! I will look out for the flankers. M&S here stock a lot of Fragonard, I've talked about the Belle de... Beau de.... Collection, I really love that and it's so affordable! £40 for 100ml, they are fab! I recently sampled Amouage Lilac Love - lovely scent, very long lasting. It was still going strong when the other sample I had of a different scent had faded. I liked that it settled down into a little scent bubble that reminded me of soap. It was like that scent you get standing at the soap display in TK Maxx
I've tried Pistachio Latte and Cinnamon Rolls and didn't really like either one (but didn't hate them, either). I think all gourmands are starting to smell alike to me. 🤣 I've really cut down on buying full bottles this year and don't really see buying too much anytime soon. I'm enjoying buying samples much more now, it satisfies the sniffing craving. 🙂 Merry Christmas!

Hi Clare, thanks a lot for an interesting video. I’m a fairly new subscriber and have been bingewatching a lot of your videos. I’m also fairly new to the world of perfume even though I’m 54. It’s a bit overwhelming with so many fragrances to choose from but I really enjoy your videos that are on information, psychology, science etc. I ended up buying a perfume calendar this year and was so disappointed that I couldn’t smell 3 of the perfumes. One of them was Glossier You. I might as well have sprayed pure alcohol on myself 😅 The topic of being anosmic to a scent is new to me, have you made a video on this? When I get some time, I will research for a proper video. If you want to experience anosmia, try the escentric molecule fragrances or even br540, some people can't smell that at all! @ I did get excentric molecules 01 and Ded Cool Xtra Milk in the calendar. Couldn’t smell a thing from either of them 😩 I have tried BR540 and that was another thing altogether. I felt like I was enveloped in a warm embrace, it was absolutely wonderful. Except the price…😅 I will be looking forward to the video about anosmia in the future, if you do make it 😊

Marshmallow is an interesting addition to many new fragrances these days. I don't think I have ever noticed marshmallow in past fragrances perhaps there has been and I never noticed. That Black Opium iw interesting for sure and great bottle. Pistachio another popular scent these days not that it is really new but seems to be popular. I. made a pistachio rice crispy treat from Tik Tok that I brought to work and was really enjoyed. Hope you are all set for Christmas as we are days away now. I was able to sample You Doux at a local sephora. I have seen a few positive reviews so I was excited to try it out. Although it was ok as a scent I felt it lacked sillage and became a skin scent immediately. So i did not purchase it...picked up Narciso instead...

Im intrigued by Glitter, i may pick it up during the spring Sephora sale. Cinnamon Roll starts out as a dead on dupe for Cinnabon. Then i get heavy butter and bread, and it finally settles into a soft cinnamon and musk. Terique Intense is on the way to me, and I definitely want to try the new Lattafa, but I need a sample first.
I really want to try Glitter! I don't understand the staggered country by country release for it, maybe YSL are limiting production until they see if it's successful? Did you like Cinnamon Roll? There are just to many perfumes and I wonder who is buying them all ? I’d be interested to know how sales are in general in the fragrance world ,compared to during the pandemic when we all went crazy 🤪 I and quietly sitting back right now enjoying my perfumes ,I have added one or two cheapies here and there but honestly loving what I have and want to use more up . I’m interested in smelling the purple Gucci one I loved Victoria Beckham perfumes back in the day ,so I will give this one a try Loved this so much ❤
Yes I think this will be me in 2025. I am actually happy sampling and enjoying that and I've gone a bit crazy this month so best to ease off in January at least and enjoy what I have. I actually wonder whether sales are down but perhaps people are spending way more per transaction because of the higher prices? I have TERIAQ… That was one that had to sit for a bit after it arrived. I couldn’t smell any of the notes listed when I first received it. I’m glad I didn’t sell it before it had a chance to change. I’m afraid to use the word ‘macerate’ in the wrong way now after your video… lol 😆 But anyways loved it once I could smell the notes listed. The intense sounds interesting….. but I wonder if it’s going to smell like the Kilian Angels’ Share copycats put out by Arabian/Middle Eastern fragrance houses.
Do you like Teriaq? Does it remind you of other things? I do think you are right, the intense has been compared with Angels' share etc. and obviously also Khamrah by default, despite Khamrah smelling nothing like Angels' Share 🤣
Hi Claire. I feel exactly the same about Reve. Doux doesn't have the greatest longevity, but I loved it so much I bought it anyway. I just spray it like a crazy lady! I'm about to make a list as I'm going to try and get samples of quite a few of the new releases you've spoken about. Quite a few appeal to me, unfortunately for my bank balance 😂 I had no idea Tom Ford released so many new fragrances. Wow! Happy Holidays Claire. I’ve been gallivanting around Europe for the holidays and was able to get my nose on quite a few scents in Paris. I smelled the entire line of the Prada Infusions, I own 7 of them, and I really enjoyed the rhubarb. It has just enough sweetness to counter the sour. I will probably pick it up on my next trip. Estée Lauder and Tom Ford have lost their minds. I’ll sample but just can’t bring myself to purchase any. I hope to be a more discerning buyer in 2025 and truly only purchase fragrance that has a wow factor and those that will evoke strong memories for me.

I have recently blind bought Burberry her eau de parfum because it was compared to Baccarat rouge which I am never going to afford to buy. I can't say I really like it but in the opening it has a very distinct strawberry note.
Yes! I remember trying that when it first came out in...?....2019? 2020? It was a big release and lots of people loved it. I remember the endless BR 540 dupes videos at the time too! My mom bought me the new Fame because of the bottle. I haven't worn it yet, but the jacket is fabulous! 😂 So many fragrances coming out! I didn't have many of these on my radar, so it was really interesting to hear about them. I was actually sent Bois Pacifique from Influenster, I think it might be something you'd like. To me it does feel unisex, it's not overly masculine.

I have such a large collection that like most people that have too many to choose from-I’m starting to purchase smaller size bottles (travel size is perfect) I also love purchasing samples and or decants! I’m currently working on my “R&D” (research and development) on fragrances that are of interest to me-granted I do purchase the random “blind” buy if the price is just too good! I rationalize that by saying to myself I can always trade or sell it if the smell isn’t for me…my point of this long comment (sorry) is to tell you that your channel is a of great value to me! This is exactly my thoughts, for me, if I do blind buy and I get it wrong, I just resell it. Since I buy mostly secondhand, I usually get most over even all or more than my money back when I resell things. I have been sampling a decant of Teriaq Intense and it is very good. You may want to try it. I have Plum Japonaise and they are not the same at all. A far better dupe for TF Plum Japonaise is Alexandria Perfumes Forbidden Plum. The plum in Teriaq is not very noticeable and when I do smell it, it is a sweet plum and not a spiced, dried plum like in TF Plum Japonaise but even then the two are not in any way similar, not even in the same ball park to my nose, so I am very surprised you say it is "widely compared" to the Tom Ford. I love Barenia and it reminded me of Galop which I own. Merry Christmas!
You are definitely not the first person to mention that Alexandria fragrances dupe. Can you recommend any others from Alexandria fragrances? I'm really not surprised that Plum Japonais is nothing like Teriaq intense 🤣 but I rarely smell people's comparisons between fragrances when I've smelt what they are comparing. @@dr.claire.perfume Hi Claire, I have about 8 Alexandrias. I think they make the best quality dupes in my opinion though I have some DUAs that are good. For Alexandria the standouts are the dupe of Diaghilev; Trepak, H"Ani, Fame15, Vanille Dore', Vanille Fatal, Le Chypre. I also had a travel size of Their TF Lost Cherry but gave to my daughter. It was a great dupe but It' not my style. Purple H@ze is also very good.

I have a sample of Staccato from MH and it’s interesting despite all that ambroxan. 😝 To my nose has it bears zero resemblance to Etui Noir which is more feminine and so gorgeous imo. Kayali and Tom Ford have become the bazookas of the fragrance world. Just launching releases at an insane rate-one after another after another. 🙈 The jacket on the PR Fame bottle is hilarious. 😂 I remember seeing a puffer coat on a Le Male flanker once and thought it hilarious but cute and kitch nonetheless. Yeah I don't know what happened to Miller Harris, they used to be all naturalistic and gentle and now they are everlasting ambroxan and iso E super explosions. 🤦♀️ I will try it. Yes Vanilla Toffee was a miss for me as well, far far too sweet. The molasses candies was what I thought of.. I tried Rose Cocoa in Boston in September, I could barely smell anything, so light!! but that is Aerin sometimes, and yes in the back of my mind the info you had shared on the brand 😬 But yeah the description sounds like it would be my perfect scent.. I may try it again when I'm not in a store, it's too confusing. Canada Post is back up and running so I finally received my FB of Reve.. and it smells so different than when I had sampled it.. I'm getting the fuzzy cashmeran now. I will try TF Amber Intrigue. I share your thoughts about HOO Dates Delight. It's an interesting scent for me, especially as I eat dates regurarly before doing sport. I was seriously contemplating buying it and I kind of still do. 😊

Shaghaf Vanilla Toffee sounds good but I'll start with a sample. I have fallen for Kayali hype before, and I will try to get a sample. Oh I have not heard of the Aerin child labour issue. How terrible. I agree strawberry notes are often so artifical.
Strawberry is done really badly a lot of the time. I think people think perhaps of strawberry as strawberry flavouring or strawberry milk rather than natural strawberry which is pretty delicate and easily overwhelmed by other notes. You'll need a dentist's appointment after vanilla toffee. It's very very sweet! Season's greetings 🎁🎅⛄🎄🥰
I went to the stores to smell perfumes 2 weeks ago and they had Rose Cocoa.. I am not a chocolate fan so I did bot like it, all I smelled was chocolate, maybe my nose is not trained thus I can't smell the roses.
The VB fragrances I was excited to see in Selfridges. Until I tried them, there's nothing really noteworthy. nothing you've not smelled before. I'm finding it really hard to get excited about perfume at the moment. The designer flankers just don't interest me and as I said to you, I have smelled a lot of somewhat underwhelming discovery sets this year. I really want to be wowed by something. Maybe I am playing too safe and not trying enough outside of my comfort zone 🤷♀️ I think 2025 will be about loving what I own and probably repurchasing a few that are getting low, and maybe wishlisting a few things that I tried in the early part of 2024. Fair enough with the VBs. Ok, my curiosity is less than is required to spend £40 on sampling them. 😂 I think sampling can be so disappointing after a while... Once you've tried a few brands, and have a few stunners in your collection, it takes more to be wowed. I do wonder how much channels hype stuff up for content sometimes... It's always a much more popular video when you rave about something rather than say something isn't good... And that's an issue with social media and truth. I want to slow up a bit more in 2025 too. I'd love to try the new Black Opium I bet its nice. I'm not a lover of Fame sadly the fragrances aren't my jam. The bottle looks good, theyve forgotten to list the ambroxan and cashmeran. The new My Way does sound pleasant, tho coconut can kill me. Yea I think I'll skip a rhubarb one. Tho I like aldehydes. That MH might be a struggle for me. Staccato on paper sounds nice. Etui Noire doesn't need a "punchier" version I think. Yes the TF ambery one sounds like it could be good. Yes they have sooo many. Yeah I am sick of the cashmeran trend. I'm feeling almost nostalgic for ambroxan 🤣 nah not quite. I don't get it?! Why does everything have to have so much of it?! I am genuinely interested in Black Opium Glitter, I always go try the new flankers of Black Opium and I nearly always like them. I'd love a bottle of Nuit Blanche, but that's so rare nowadays. You'd hate the Glossier fragrances. 🤣 I still like the original one, I still think that's a good example of how to use molecular notes. The Swiss Arabian 10 minute PR fest was crazy. Now no one ever mentions it. It's crazily sweet. I left my card on the bus by mistake. I'm sure the bus still smells of it. I've learnt not to spray Lattafa, Afnan or Swiss Arabian on my skin ever because if I can't stand them I can't get it off by washing. I thought the VB fragrances did interest you at one point? I have decluttered the Cinamon Rolls one and kept the Pistachio Latte. The longevity of the Cinamon rolls is bad - lasts like 10mins. Jo Malone is definitely overrated in my humble opinion - with this price tag their longevity has to be a stellar and they keep giving us colognes. Shame. Teriaq intense is great! I love it. I have bought it and i am wearing it almost on a daily basis. It's projecting very well and the longevity is superb right out the gate. The Shaghaf Oud is not good - not a gourmand and very screechy. Thank god i only bought a sample! It smells like old lady perfume. The Yum Boujee is very girly juvenile smell and i personally love it but it's more like a bbw spray and not worth the price for sure.
Pistachio latte does sound a nice one. I think some of the cologne intense line and also the one that I have, which is Pomegranate Noir, so last a decent amount of time, but for sure it's not across the board. Happy to hear someone is loving Teriaq Intense. Swiss Arabian haven't been for me so far, I haven't even enjoyed Casablanca, I do keep trying them though! Hmm that Prada fragrance sounds OK. I have a Prada fragrance that I got at a sample sale when I worked at a luxury publisher. I don't even know the name of the scent it is is a half circle/moon shaped bottle that is clear in the front and white in the back. Maybe you know? I really do like a lot of TF fragrances I don't own any but I like to smell them when I go to Sephora. You know I wish they would stop making mens cologne I HATE the way they all smell and I am allergic to whatever they put in it to make it smell like cologne which makes them all smell the same. I don't know what that additive is but it's awful. I wish they would just make men's fragrance. Pistachio Latte sounds interesting for sure. Teriaq Intense sounds like a striking scent. The bottle certainly is. Shaghaf sounds intriguing too. I so need to add a Middle Eastern scent to my collection. I don't have any fragrances from Kay Ali or Glossier. You always do such a good job with these reviews. 👍🥰
I know what you mean with men's fragrances. Designer ones are often packed with iso E super, ambrox or amberwood or other really raspy, weirdly textured fragrance ingredients that make them unpleasant to me. I just bought Dior Sauvage for my husband because I was in a hurry and blind buying but there is a unisex Tom Ford that I want to buy for him but cannot remember the name for the life of me. I looked at Creed but $400 USD was a lot for a blind buy

I agree that Russia is not a country to be celebrated right now, what they have inflicted on Ukraine and political opponents like Navalny is truly horrific, but I do wonder why when China is accused of atrocities against the Uyghurs and others, and is a country that supports Russia with machine tools and microelectrics that help Russia to keep rearming against Ukraine, that TF kept Rose de Chine. I think the idea of the fragrances is perhaps to celebrate the style of rose rather than the country but I do see why Rose de Russie perhaps wouldn't be something that Estée Lauder would want to be associated with right now. Vanilla Toffee has been one of my favourites this year. It's along the lines of Lush Sticky Dates.
I was disappointed with Cinnamon Rolls, lots of cinnamon, no rolls. I'm glad I only purchased a sample, I would only layer it with other fragrances. I really enjoyed the Pistachio Latte, a nice departure from the Yum Pistachio dna.
Vanilla Toffee was very very sweet! I think I need to try Sticky Dates again and make a comparison. 😊

@dr.claire.perfume I actually love cinnamon fragrances, but on it's own the Cinnamon Rolls was very similar to the ground sweet cinnamon I regularly use in the kitchen.

This was so enjoyable Claire! I'm feeling extra eager to try new fragrances and maybe it's the holidays/cold weather. Recently I visited my kids in NYC and we hit the niche boutiques and had the best time. Even my hotel had Le Labo Hinoki for shower gels, soaps and shampoo in my room so I was in heaven! As much as I'm ready to pull the trigger, I'm becoming more selective and choosy about what I add. The Glossier launches intrigue me too yet longevity is a concern. Right now I'm happy to enjoy my current collection but open to see what hit me to add next. Happy Holidays to you Claire!

Hi Claire! I just tried Black Opium Glitter this week. I've never been more underwhelmed with a fragrance in my life but I'm not saying it's bad if that makes sense! 😅 I got lots of patchouli, zero marshmallow, tons of the Black opium DNA.. but what can you tell from first impressions? 🤷🏻♀️😅 I did spray generously on skin but.. anyways, some people may love it!
The other new one I tried on skin that day (besides Clean Whipped Cherry, which I hated) was Yum Boujee Marshmallow.. very realistic marshmallow scent, which if that's what someone was looking for, would be great! Not my style, which I knew going in. I have a Short I may post about these two.
I don't like any of the Theodoros Kalotinis ones from that line.. I'm almost tempted by these actually! ..but I'll probably pass due to my history with them! 😆

Hi Tammy! Oh that's a shame! I will try it. I think the Black Opium DNA is pretty strong isn't it?! Most of the flankers are very much Black Opium first and foremost. It's sad that you can't smell marshmallow, maybe it will come along with a second very long sniff?! Yum does sounds more of a marshmallow, I often miss shorts, I think I've watched about 6 in 4 years. I'm not good at short things in general 😂 I think that's probably why TikTok didn't register for me as something interesting either.
I know, those TKs are very hit and miss. And yes, very sweet. I think if I sample, I will be selective.

I also have a 5ml of the new Shaghaf and I do like it a lot. IMO it’s a bit more interesting than all of the super sweet caramelly vanillas that have been coming out lately 🥱😴🥱😴 Once the prices come down might buy a bottle. Barenia is nice, I got a 30ml. Have only worn it once so far - would enjoy hearing your thoughts once you’ve tried it more. Just ordered a 5ml of new release London Fog by Brandt and super excited to get my nose on it. Barénia was really nice, I thought it was probably the most interesting designer release I'd smelt in a long while. I do wish there was less cashmeran but it seems like that trend is here to stay.
London fog sounds nice from the name, I imagine a petrichor grey feeling fragrance with some aldehydes and musks. Piguet's Bandit made me think of 1950s smog laden London before the clean air act, I think I'd like that kind of feel but instead with something cleaner like fog rather than smog.

Good morning Claire. The only one of these that I have tried is Barenia. I think I will need to sniff it a few more times before deciding if I like it or not. I did like the fact that it’s different from anything else I’ve tried.
Re lilac perfumes, I’ve just received Lilas from Fragonard. I seem to be drawn to Aurélien Guichard perfumes, even before I learn he is the perfumier. The only other one from that house I’ve tried is a 3x5ml set of Soleil. The original is very old fashioned, the Grain de Soleil is the best of the 3. No-one talks about Fragonard on UA-cam that I’ve seen. Is that a house you have any experience of?

I remember trying Soleil by Fragonard in M&S a few years ago but then it disappeared and I remember Chantel Tiffany saying it had been discontinued... good to know it's back! I will look out for the flankers. M&S here stock a lot of Fragonard, I've talked about the Belle de... Beau de.... Collection, I really love that and it's so affordable! £40 for 100ml, they are fab! I'm happy you are enjoying them. If I can get samples I will review them 😊

I recently sampled Amouage Lilac Love - lovely scent, very long lasting. It was still going strong when the other sample I had of a different scent had faded. I liked that it settled down into a little scent bubble that reminded me of soap. It was like that scent you get standing at the soap display in TK Maxx

I've tried Pistachio Latte and Cinnamon Rolls and didn't really like either one (but didn't hate them, either). I think all gourmands are starting to smell alike to me. 🤣 I've really cut down on buying full bottles this year and don't really see buying too much anytime soon. I'm enjoying buying samples much more now, it satisfies the sniffing craving. 🙂 Merry Christmas!

It’s a bit overwhelming with so many fragrances to choose from but I really enjoy your videos that are on information, psychology, science etc. I ended up buying a perfume calendar this year and was so disappointed that I couldn’t smell 3 of the perfumes. One of them was Glossier You. I might as well have sprayed pure alcohol on myself 😅 The topic of being anosmic to a scent is new to me, have you made a video on this? @ I did get excentric molecules 01 and Ded Cool Xtra Milk in the calendar. Couldn’t smell a thing from either of them 😩 I have tried BR540 and that was another thing altogether. Marshmallow is an interesting addition to many new fragrances these days. I don't think I have ever noticed marshmallow in past fragrances perhaps there has been and I never noticed. That Black Opium iw interesting for sure and great bottle. Pistachio another popular scent these days not that it is really new but seems to be popular. I. made a pistachio rice crispy treat from Tik Tok that I brought to work and was really enjoyed. Hope you are all set for Christmas as we are days away now. I was able to sample You Doux at a local sephora. I have seen a few positive reviews so I was excited to try it out. Although it was ok as a scent I felt it lacked sillage and became a skin scent immediately. So i did not purchase it...picked up Narciso instead...
I think I just prefer the original Glossier You to Doux. The Narciso fragrances are in general lovely, it's a solid house. Thanks for watching 🥰

Im intrigued by Glitter, i may pick it up during the spring Sephora sale. Cinnamon Roll starts out as a dead on dupe for Cinnabon. Then i get heavy butter and bread, and it finally settles into a soft cinnamon and musk. Terique Intense is on the way to me, and I definitely want to try the new Lattafa, but I need a sample first.
I really want to try Glitter! I don't understand the staggered country by country release for it, maybe YSL are limiting production until they see if it's successful?

I have TERIAQ… That was one that had to sit for a bit after it arrived. I couldn’t smell any of the notes listed when I first received it. I’m glad I didn’t sell it before it had a chance to change.

Happy Holidays Claire. I’ve been gallivanting around Europe for the holidays and was able to get my nose on quite a few scents in Paris. I smelled the entire line of the Prada Infusions, I own 7 of them, and I really enjoyed the rhubarb. It has just enough sweetness to counter the sour. I will probably pick it up on my next trip. Estée Lauder and Tom Ford have lost their minds. I’ll sample but just can’t bring myself to purchase any. I hope to be a more discerning buyer in 2025 and truly only purchase fragrance that has a wow factor and those that will evoke strong memories for me.

This is exactly my thoughts, for me, if I do blind buy and I get it wrong, I just resell it. Since I buy mostly secondhand, I usually get most over even all or more than my money back when I resell things. I have been sampling a decant of Teriaq Intense and it is very good. You may want to try it. I have Plum Japonaise and they are not the same at all. A far better dupe for TF Plum Japonaise is Alexandria Perfumes Forbidden Plum. The plum in Teriaq is not very noticeable and when I do smell it, it is a sweet plum and not a spiced, dried plum like in TF Plum Japonaise but even then the two are not in any way similar, not even in the same ball park to my nose, so I am very surprised you say it is "widely compared" to the Tom Ford. I love Barenia and it reminded me of Galop which I own. Merry Christmas!
You are definitely not the first person to mention that Alexandria fragrances dupe. Can you recommend any others from Alexandria fragrances? I'm really not surprised that Plum Japonais is nothing like Teriaq intense 🤣 but I rarely smell people's comparisons between fragrances when I've smelt what they are comparing.

@@dr.claire.perfume Hi Claire, I have about 8 Alexandrias. I think they make the best quality dupes in my opinion though I have some DUAs that are good. For Alexandria the standouts are the dupe of Diaghilev; Trepak, H"Ani, Fame15, Vanille Dore', Vanille Fatal, Le Chypre. I also had a travel size of Their TF Lost Cherry but gave to my daughter. It was a great dupe but It' not my style. Purple H@ze is also very good.

I have a sample of Staccato from MH and it’s interesting despite all that ambroxan. 😝 To my nose has it bears zero resemblance to Etui Noir which is more feminine and so gorgeous imo.

I tried Rose Cocoa in Boston in September, I could barely smell anything, so light!! but that is Aerin sometimes, and yes in the back of my mind the info you had shared on the brand 😬 But yeah the description sounds like it would be my perfect scent.. I may try it again when I'm not in a store, it's too confusing.
Canada Post is back up and running so I finally received my FB of Reve.. and it smells so different than when I had sampled it.. I'm getting the fuzzy cashmeran now. I'm not hating it, but it reminds me of a cashmere sweater that was dipped in root beer and it dried that way. 😅 Doux was straight up dill pickle for me 😅

I agree strawberry notes are often so artifical.
Strawberry is done really badly a lot of the time. I think people think perhaps of strawberry as strawberry flavouring or strawberry milk rather than natural strawberry which is pretty delicate and easily overwhelmed by other notes.
You'll need a dentist's appointment after vanilla toffee. It's very very sweet!

I went to the stores to smell perfumes 2 weeks ago and they had Rose Cocoa.. I am not a chocolate fan so I did bot like it, all I smelled was chocolate, maybe my nose is not trained thus I can't smell the roses.

The VB fragrances I was excited to see in Selfridges. Until I tried them, there's nothing really noteworthy. nothing you've not smelled before.
I'm finding it really hard to get excited about perfume at the moment. The designer flankers just don't interest me and as I said to you, I have smelled a lot of somewhat underwhelming discovery sets this year. I really want to be wowed by something. Maybe I am playing too safe and not trying enough outside of my comfort zone 🤷♀️
I think 2025 will be about loving what I own and probably repurchasing a few that are getting low, and maybe wishlisting a few things that I tried in the early part of 2024.

I think sampling can be so disappointing after a while... Once you've tried a few brands, and have a few stunners in your collection, it takes more to be wowed. I do wonder how much channels hype stuff up for content sometimes... It's always a much more popular video when you rave about something rather than say something isn't good... And that's an issue with social media and truth.

Yes, you're absolutely right. I've found my ideals in many categories. For example I can't imagine a better white floral than Bouquet Encore, or citrus floral than Petit Matin, and so on. I mean that's why I added them in the first place.

Yes the TF ambery one sounds like it could be good. Yes they have sooo many. Another Rose 😱 Rose de Russie was very nice, a shame they got rid of it a lovely leathery one. Marketing is stuck in the 1960s.

I am genuinely interested in Black Opium Glitter, I always go try the new flankers of Black Opium and I nearly always like them. I'd love a bottle of Nuit Blanche, but that's so rare nowadays.

The Swiss Arabian 10 minute PR fest was crazy. Now no one ever mentions it. It's crazily sweet. I left my card on the bus by mistake. I'm sure the bus still smells of it. I've learnt not to spray Lattafa, Afnan or Swiss Arabian on my skin ever because if I can't stand them I can't get it off by washing.

I have decluttered the Cinamon Rolls one and kept the Pistachio Latte. The longevity of the Cinamon rolls is bad - lasts like 10mins. Jo Malone is definitely overrated in my humble opinion - with this price tag their longevity has to be a stellar and they keep giving us colognes. Shame. Teriaq intense is great! I love it. I have bought it and i am wearing it almost on a daily basis. It's projecting very well and the longevity is superb right out the gate. The Shaghaf Oud is not good - not a gourmand and very screechy. Thank god i only bought a sample! It smells like old lady perfume. The Yum Boujee is very girly juvenile smell and i personally love it but it's more like a bbw spray and not worth the price for sure.
Pistachio latte does sound a nice one. I think some of the cologne intense line and also the one that I have, which is Pomegranate Noir, so last a decent amount of time, but for sure it's not across the board. Happy to hear someone is loving Teriaq Intense. Swiss Arabian haven't been for me so far, I haven't even enjoyed Casablanca, I do keep trying them though!

Hmm that Prada fragrance sounds OK. I have a Prada fragrance that I got at a sample sale when I worked at a luxury publisher. I don't even know the name of the scent it is is a half circle/moon shaped bottle that is clear in the front and white in the back. Maybe you know? I really do like a lot of TF fragrances I don't own any but I like to smell them when I go to Sephora. You know I wish they would stop making mens cologne I HATE the way they all smell and I am allergic to whatever they put in it to make it smell like cologne which makes them all smell the same. I don't know what that additive is but it's awful. I wish they would just make men's fragrance. Pistachio Latte sounds interesting for sure. Teriaq Intense sounds like a striking scent. The bottle certainly is. Shaghaf sounds intriguing too. I so need to add a Middle Eastern scent to my collection. I don't have any fragrances from Kay Ali or Glossier. You always do such a good job with these reviews. 👍🥰
I know what you mean with men's fragrances. Designer ones are often packed with iso E super, ambrox or amberwood or other really raspy, weirdly textured fragrance ingredients that make them unpleasant to me. About the only one I enjoy is Givenchy gentlemen.
I have no idea which Prada you have, but I bet I can find it on Fragrantica or Parfumo.

I just bought Dior Sauvage for my husband because I was in a hurry and blind buying but there is a unisex Tom Ford that I want to buy for him but cannot remember the name for the life of me. I looked at Creed but $400 USD was a lot for a blind buy

I'm happy Tom Ford re-named Rose de Russie. Russia is committing a genocide in Ukraine, there is no need to whitewash russia's image as a country full of roses, rather than weapons pointed at Ukraine. The way a country's name is used in pop culture does matter. Thank you for the video😊

I agree that Russia is not a country to be celebrated right now, what they have inflicted on Ukraine and political opponents like Navalny is truly horrific, but I do wonder why when China is accused of atrocities against the Uyghurs and others, and is a country that supports Russia with machine tools and microelectrics that help Russia to keep rearming against Ukraine, that TF kept Rose de Chine. I think the idea of the fragrances is perhaps to celebrate the style of rose rather than the country but I do see why Rose de Russie perhaps wouldn't be something that Estée Lauder would want to be associated with right now.
